10 units damaged in north Houston apartment fire; crews working to put out hotspots, HFD says

At least a dozen apartment units were ravaged by flames in a devastating fire that broke out early Thursday morning in north Houston, according to officials from the city's fire department. The blaze, which was reported at approximately 3:30am, is believed to have started at a complex on Greens Road near Imperial Valley Drive.

Firefighters responded quickly to the scene, with around 50-60 units and over 50 personnel mobilized in an effort to combat the blaze. Senior Capt. Raul Reyes said that while flames were initially present within the apartments, the situation was brought under control through swift action by his team. The incident triggered a second alarm, prompting additional resources to be deployed to support the firefighting efforts.

Reyes described the fire as "scale of apartment complex big," emphasizing the need for more units and firefighters in response to the scale of the disaster. Despite an extensive effort, Reyes confirmed that approximately 10 units were damaged in the blaze, but he noted that no injuries had been reported so far.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. However, officials have notified the Red Cross to assist families who may be displaced as a result of the incident.

Crews continue to work on extinguishing hotspots and bringing the situation under control, with updates on the status of the fire expected as more information becomes available.

πŸš’ Just wild that 10 units got damaged in a blaze that started at 3:30am πŸ•°οΈ. Needed more firefighters, but glad no one got hurt πŸ™. Should've had those sprinklers on tho... 😩

OMG, like this is soooo sad πŸ€•! Can't even imagine waking up in the middle of the night to flames raging outside your door 😱. Glad everyone's safe and all but 10 units damaged? Like, that's a lot, right?! 🀯 Need to know what caused it tho 🚨, gotta be so careful with fire safety, y'know? πŸ’‘ Hope those who lost homes get the help they need from Red Cross ASAP 🀝. Fingers crossed no more damage done and everyone can go back to normal soon πŸ™πŸ”₯

omg that's so sad! πŸ€• like what even is the point of these fires happening in a place where people are trying to live their best lives? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ 10 apartments damaged but no injuries?! that's just lucky, right? 😬 and can we talk about how many units were there in the first place? seems like they weren't prepared for this kinda disaster! πŸ’ΈπŸ”₯

πŸš’πŸ’₯ Oh man, this is so sad! A dozen apartment units gone up in flames... that's just devastating news. I mean, you gotta feel for those people who lost their homes and stuff. The firefighters were super fast to respond, though - 50-60 units? That's crazy! 🀯 They really saved a lot of lives by getting there quick. But yeah, more units would've been nice... scale of apartment complex big, right? 😩 Can't wait for the cause of the fire to come out and know what happened. Fingers crossed no one was hurt too badly. Red Cross is on it, so at least they'll be helping those displaced folks out. 🀝

Man, this is crazy 🀯! Can't believe a whole apartment complex got ravaged by flames like that πŸš’πŸ’₯. Firefighters did an amazing job responding so quickly and getting the situation under control πŸ™. But seriously, it's wild how fast things escalated - I mean, 50-60 units of firefighters? That's like, a whole crew 🀯! And yeah, Reyes makes sense about needing more resources for buildings that big... it's just not fair to expect smaller crews to handle such massive fires πŸ˜”. On the bright side, no injuries were reported which is like, super lucky ✨. Fingers crossed they figure out what caused the fire and get everyone back on their feet soon 🀞

πŸ€• Just heard about that massive fire in north Houston, man... 50 units and all, it's crazy how quickly things can go from bad to worse. I hope no one was really hurt, but at least not a single injury report? That's a huge relief. Still doesn't make me feel good about the fact that 10 apartments got ravaged by flames. Like, what even is the point of having all those firefighters and units if you're just gonna let something like this happen? πŸ€” The cause of the fire remains under investigation, which I guess is standard, but can we please get some answers?! Red Cross is on it tho, so at least there's some support for families who might be displaced. Fingers crossed they get everything sorted out soon πŸ‘

man this is crazy 🀯 a dozen apartments destroyed by fire in north Houston, can't believe it's happening again πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ how many more does it take before we get serious about affordable housing and community safety? πŸ’” i'm all for the firefighters working hard to put out the flames but 10 units damaged is still way too much, gotta make sure those displaced families have a solid support system in place πŸ‘ͺπŸ’•

man that's crazy how fast it spread 🀯 50-60 units gotta be like their whole team just chillin in their trucks waiting for a call like something would go down like that 10 units damaged but no one hurt yeah what if they had more firefighters and more units on scene might have saved more places πŸš’πŸ

Ugh, like totally devastating news about that apartment fire in north Houston πŸ€•πŸ’”! Fires are so scary and unpredictable, no one wants to be a part of them. I'm literally sending all my thoughts to the families who lost their homes and stuff. The fact that firefighters were able to get there quickly is amazing, but still, 10 units damaged is way too much #StayStrongHouston #ApartmentFirePrevention #FireSafetyMatters πŸš’πŸ’«

man thats wild they got 50+ units responding to one fire its like crazy 🀯 the fact that no one was hurt is a major blessing though dont know what couldve happened if firefighters took longer to arrive hope they find out whats causing it and get those ppl back in their homes ASAP its already bad enough seeing vids of families packing up their stuff

Man... that's crazy 🀯. Like, you can't even imagine waking up to flames in your apartment and having to escape for your life. The response from the firefighters was actually pretty cool tho πŸ‘. 50-60 units showing up like that is insane. Hope everyone who lost their place has a place to stay soon πŸ πŸ’•. And yeah, more firefighters and units would've been helpful, but at least nobody got hurt. Fingers crossed they figure out what caused the fire and can prevent something like this from happening again πŸ’‘

man that's so sad πŸ€• hope everyone is safe tho no injuries reported is still a big relief gotta feel for those who lost their homes & stuff now we need to make sure these ppl have a place to stay temporary shelter is on the way 🏠😊 but seriously, it just goes to show how quickly fires can spread if we dont take precautions like maintaining fire safety systems in our buildings
