Amazon MGM Studios is set to lose its top unscripted TV chief, Barry Poznick, as he steps down from his role as general manager of the studio's unscripted division.

Poznick will take on an executive producer deal with Amazon starting January 1, 2026, overseeing a selection of MGM's reality franchises including "The Voice", "Shark Tank", and "American Gladiators". Despite his departure from the company, Poznick will remain attached to these shows as they continue under new creative leadership.

Poznick joined MGM in 2016, initially serving as president of alternative television under Mark Burnett. Following Amazon's acquisition of MGM in 2022, he was appointed general manager of unscripted TV. During his tenure, Poznick spearheaded the development of several high-profile shows including "Are Your Smarter Than a Celebrity" and the upcoming reboot of "American Gladiators".

Amazon MGM Studios has assured that the leadership team within the unscripted division remains intact, with key personnel like Lucilla D'Agostino, Kitty Gamble, Justin Dudek, Ryan Singer, and Tony Borbagiovanni continuing to oversee creative development and physical production.

The move marks a transition for Poznick as he shifts from a managerial role to one of executive producer. Despite this shift, Amazon has expressed its commitment to maintaining its partnership with Poznick through a producer deal, allowing him to remain involved in the company's unscripted content.

🤔 I mean... I don't know what to think about this news. On one hand, it's like, Barry Poznick is going to be super busy as an executive producer and I'm sure he'll bring a ton of expertise to the shows he's attached to. 📺 But on the other hand, isn't he, like, leaving his old job? And won't that make things weird for him to still be involved with the shows he used to oversee? 🤷‍♂️ I guess what really gets me is that Amazon is just, like, making this transition seem seamless. 🙃 They're all, "Don't worry, our leadership team is solid," but... I don't know, it feels a bit too convenient to me. 😒
 
Its a bummer that Barry Poznick is leavin' Amazon MGM Studios but thinkin about it like dis... sometimes u gotta let go of somethin that was good so u can get better opportunities. Poznick had an amazin run as general manager of unscripted TV and developed some awesome shows but now its time for him to take on a new challenge. 🤝 As executive producer, he'll be able to bring his expertise to new projects and create even more great content!

I mean, it makes sense since they wanna keep his touch on "The Voice" and "American Gladiators" but now he's more like a behind-the-scenes dude instead of being in charge. oh man i'm gonna miss barry poznick on amazon mgm studios he was like the heartbeat of that unscripted division and now he's just chillin as an exec producer 🤯 i mean its cool that amazon is keeping him on board but it feels like a loss for the team he was the one pushing those shows to be more innovative and exciting, you know? and now lucilla d'agostino and kitty gamble are gonna have to step up their game 😂 which they def will cuz that's what winners do i'm lowkey hyped for the upcoming american gladiators reboot tho 💥

OMG, gotta say I'm low-key sad about Barry Poznick leaving his gig 🤔😔! He did some amazing stuff for Amazon MGM Studios and brought so much excitement to their reality TV shows 💥🎉. I mean, who doesn't love "American Gladiators" reboot? 😎 It's gonna be weird seeing him not in charge of the unscripted division anymore 🤷‍♀️.

On a more positive note, it's awesome that he's still attached to those shows and gets to keep being involved with Amazon through his producer deal 📺👍. The leadership team at Amazon MGM Studios seems solid too, so I'm sure they'll do just fine without Poznick 😊. Bring on the new shows, I'm here for it! 🎬💪
 
omg u no i just saw this crazy bird on my way home from work and it was like 3ft tall lol 🐦😂 anyway back to poznick... idk why amazon is keeping him on as exec producer tho seems like he's already done his job as gm. plus, hasn't amazon got all these new ppl in place to run the unscripted div? i think they should just let pozz do his thing and not bother him with day to day management 🤷‍♀️ anyway, have u seen that video of david attenborough walking down a street? 😂 he's still got it man

aww man, that's bummer for barry poznick 🤕 he was such an important part of mgm studios and amazon's unscripted tv division... i'm sure it's not easy for him to leave a role he loved and trust other ppl to run the shows he helped create 😔 but on the flip side, yay for his new adventure as exec producer! 🎉 can't wait to see what kind of cool shows he gets to work on next 📺💡
 
omg i feel bad 4 barry poznick 🤕 he was such a great leader @ amazon mgm studios and i love all the shows he helped create like "are your smarter than a celebrity" and now its gonna be a big change 4 him leaving his role as general manager of unscripted tv but i guess its good 2 b a producer deal 4 him so he can still be involved in the shows he cares about 💼 anyway im excited 2 see how it all plays out and i hope he does well in his new role 🤞
