Amazon MGM Studios Unscripted TV Chief Barry Poznick to Step Down

Amazon MGM Studios is set to lose its top unscripted TV chief, Barry Poznick, as he steps down from his role as general manager of the studio's unscripted division.

Poznick will take on an executive producer deal with Amazon starting January 1, 2026, overseeing a selection of MGM's reality franchises including "The Voice", "Shark Tank", and "American Gladiators". Despite his departure from the company, Poznick will remain attached to these shows as they continue under new creative leadership.

Poznick joined MGM in 2016, initially serving as president of alternative television under Mark Burnett. Following Amazon's acquisition of MGM in 2022, he was appointed general manager of unscripted TV. During his tenure, Poznick spearheaded the development of several high-profile shows including "Are Your Smarter Than a Celebrity" and the upcoming reboot of "American Gladiators".

Amazon MGM Studios has assured that the leadership team within the unscripted division remains intact, with key personnel like Lucilla D'Agostino, Kitty Gamble, Justin Dudek, Ryan Singer, and Tony Borbagiovanni continuing to oversee creative development and physical production.

The move marks a transition for Poznick as he shifts from a managerial role to one of executive producer. Despite this shift, Amazon has expressed its commitment to maintaining its partnership with Poznick through a producer deal, allowing him to remain involved in the company's unscripted content.

πŸ’” Just got word that Barry Poznick is leaving his top spot at Amazon MGM Studios 🚫 Can't say I'm surprised tho... all these high-profile shows are probably gonna tank without someone like him to keep them on track 😬 And now he's just gonna be an exec producer with more free time? Sounds boring compared to running the whole thing πŸ’… His departure is a loss for reality TV fans, tbh πŸ“Ί

Another exec leaving Amazon MGM Studios πŸ€”... think they're gonna lose all their top talent and just get nothing but garbage on TV? Barry Poznick was always the brains behind those shows, now he's just gonna be some faceless exec producer making bank off the backs of his former team πŸ˜’. I'm sure Lucilla D'Agostino and the rest will be able to keep it all together without him... lol nope, they'll probably mess it up too πŸ™„. And what's with the "commitment" from Amazon? Sounds like just some corporate speak to me... we'll see how long this producer deal lasts πŸ’Έ

πŸ€” I mean... I don't know what to think about this news. On one hand, it's like, Barry Poznick is going to be super busy as an executive producer and I'm sure he'll bring a ton of expertise to the shows he's attached to. πŸ“Ί But on the other hand, isn't he, like, leaving his old job? And won't that make things weird for him to still be involved with the shows he used to oversee? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I guess what really gets me is that Amazon is just, like, making this transition seem seamless. πŸ™ƒ They're all, "Don't worry, our leadership team is solid," but... I don't know, it feels a bit too convenient to me. πŸ˜’

Its a bummer that Barry Poznick is leavin' Amazon MGM Studios but thinkin about it like dis... sometimes u gotta let go of somethin that was good so u can get better opportunities. Poznick had an amazin run as general manager of unscripted TV and developed some awesome shows but now its time for him to take on a new challenge. 🀝 As executive producer, he'll be able to bring his expertise to new projects and create even more great content!

πŸ€” This is kinda weird, Barry Poznick just left his top job at Amazon MGM but he's still gonna be around on some shows. I mean, it makes sense since they wanna keep his touch on "The Voice" and "American Gladiators" but now he's more like a behind-the-scenes dude instead of being in charge. Still cool that they're keeping him on board for the new year though! 😊

So they're letting go of their top guy at Amazon MGM Studios πŸ€”... I think it's kinda weird that Barry Poznick is staying on as an executive producer though πŸ“Ί. I mean, he was the one leading the charge and making all those shows happen under Mark Burnett. It's like they want to keep his influence around, but not necessarily have him in charge anymore 😐. Plus, what does it say about their leadership when you need someone to step down from a high-level position just to get a slightly less powerful job? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ The shows are still gonna be fine with the new team, but I think it's a bit of an odd move...

Barry Poznick is bailing out of his gig at Amazon MGM Studios πŸ€”... like, what's next for him? I'm kinda bummed, he was bringing some serious heat to those unscripted shows πŸ’₯. "American Gladiators" reboot is gonna be fire without him though πŸ”₯. On the bright side, Poznick is getting a sweet deal as an exec producer, so we can still expect to see his name popping up in these reality TV shows πŸ“Ί. The move might be a bit of a loss for Amazon, but I'm sure they'll find someone who can fill those shoes πŸ‘ .

You know what's weird about these big changes? We're always talking about how the people in charge are 'leaving' or moving on, but what does that really mean? Is it just a label we give ourselves to make it sound cool? Poznick is still gonna be around, still making TV shows he cares about... it's like he's just swapping hats. And Amazon is all like "oh no, Barry's leaving!" But are they worried because they're not sure how good the new hat will fit? I mean, Poznick has been there for a minute, and those shows have done pretty well without him. Is this really about creative control or something deeper?

I don't get why Amazon is keeping Barry Poznick on as an exec producer if he's not even in charge of the unscripted division anymore πŸ€”. It seems like they're just trying to keep someone with experience and connections on board, but I'm not sure how it'll actually help them out. And what about all those shows that are still tied to him? Does that mean Amazon is basically hiring him to oversee other people's work? πŸ“ΊπŸ’Ό

so Poznick is leaving MGM but still gonna be all over their reality shows πŸ€”... think it's a smart move for both parties, he gets to be creative and make more money, while Amazon gets someone with his expertise on board πŸ‘... can imagine the new shows that'll get made with him as an exec producer πŸ’‘... wonder what's next for those MGM reality shows 😐

πŸ€” Barry Poznick is leaving his top gig at Amazon MGM Studios and it's a big deal πŸ“Ί! He was super key to building up their unscripted division and now he's taking on a new role as an executive producer starting in 2026. I'm curious to see how this changes things, especially since he'll be attached to shows like "The Voice" and "American Gladiators" 🎀πŸ”₯ It's not surprising Amazon wants to keep him involved, given his track record with high-profile shows like "Are Your Smarter Than a Celebrity". Hopefully, Lucilla D'Agostino and the rest of the team can keep things running smoothly while Poznick is off producing. πŸ’Ό

Something fishy is going on here πŸŸπŸ’‘ I mean, what's the real reason Barry Poznick is leaving his top spot? Is it just because he's moving on to bigger and better things or is there something more to it? I'm not buying that he's just becoming an executive producer deal without any real power behind it. It's like Amazon is trying to keep him under control but still give the illusion of giving him creative freedom πŸ€₯. And what about all these other key people staying on? Are they just holding down the fort while Poznick gets his hands dirty elsewhere? I'm not convinced this move isn't just a strategic play by Amazon to weaken MGM's unscripted division πŸ’Έ.

oh man i'm gonna miss barry poznick on amazon mgm studios he was like the heartbeat of that unscripted division and now he's just chillin as an exec producer 🀯 i mean its cool that amazon is keeping him on board but it feels like a loss for the team he was the one pushing those shows to be more innovative and exciting, you know? and now lucilla d'agostino and kitty gamble are gonna have to step up their game πŸ˜‚ which they def will cuz that's what winners do i'm lowkey hyped for the upcoming american gladiators reboot tho πŸ’₯

man what's goin on at MGM studios πŸ˜‚ they're losin their top dog barry poznick πŸ• but hey at least he's still gonna be gettin paid πŸ’Έ and get to keep an eye on all those shows he helped make like "American Gladiators" which is basically just a bunch of hot people runnin around with chainsaws πŸ˜‚ anyway, sounds like they got some solid folks lined up to take over the unscripted division so fingers crossed it's still gonna be as lit as ever πŸ”₯

OMG, gotta say I'm low-key sad about Barry Poznick leaving his gig πŸ€”πŸ˜”! He did some amazing stuff for Amazon MGM Studios and brought so much excitement to their reality TV shows πŸ’₯πŸŽ‰. I mean, who doesn't love "American Gladiators" reboot? 😎 It's gonna be weird seeing him not in charge of the unscripted division anymore πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

On a more positive note, it's awesome that he's still attached to those shows and gets to keep being involved with Amazon through his producer deal πŸ“ΊπŸ‘. The leadership team at Amazon MGM Studios seems solid too, so I'm sure they'll do just fine without Poznick 😊. Bring on the new shows, I'm here for it! 🎬πŸ’ͺ

omg u no i just saw this crazy bird on my way home from work and it was like 3ft tall lol πŸ¦πŸ˜‚ anyway back to poznick... idk why amazon is keeping him on as exec producer tho seems like he's already done his job as gm. plus, hasn't amazon got all these new ppl in place to run the unscripted div? i think they should just let pozz do his thing and not bother him with day to day management πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ anyway, have u seen that video of david attenborough walking down a street? πŸ˜‚ he's still got it man

IM FREAKING OUT OVER THIS NEWS!!! 🚨πŸ’₯ AZON IS LOOSING THEIR TOP MAN IN UNSCRIPTED TV, BARRY POZNICK!!! HE'S BEEN A GAME CHANGER SINCE JOINING MGM IN 2016 AND NOW HE'S TAKING ON AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER DEAL WITH AMAZON STARTING 2026!!! πŸ“ΊπŸŽ‰ BUT SERIOUSLY, POZNICK HAS BEEN SUCH A KEY PLAYER IN DEVELOPING SOME OF THESE SHOWS AND IT'S CRAZY THAT AMAZON IS KEEPING HIM ON BOARD AS A PRODUCER DEAL!!! πŸ’ΌπŸ’₯

aww man, that's bummer for barry poznick πŸ€• he was such an important part of mgm studios and amazon's unscripted tv division... i'm sure it's not easy for him to leave a role he loved and trust other ppl to run the shows he helped create πŸ˜” but on the flip side, yay for his new adventure as exec producer! πŸŽ‰ can't wait to see what kind of cool shows he gets to work on next πŸ“ΊπŸ’‘

omg i feel bad 4 barry poznick πŸ€• he was such a great leader @ amazon mgm studios and i love all the shows he helped create like "are your smarter than a celebrity" and now its gonna be a big change 4 him leaving his role as general manager of unscripted tv but i guess its good 2 b a producer deal 4 him so he can still be involved in the shows he cares about πŸ’Ό anyway im excited 2 see how it all plays out and i hope he does well in his new role 🀞
