Community Rallies Behind Victims of Logan Square Assaults, Police Seek Help from Public

Late Friday morning, two women were the target of attempted sexual assaults in the Logan Square neighborhood. The incidents occurred just hours apart, with the first reported at 2:32 a.m. in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue and the second at 3:23 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Schubert Avenue.

According to police, the assailant approached both victims from behind on the sidewalk, using verbal threats and physical force to overpower them. The victims were able to break free when nearby residents heard their screams for help, allowing the suspect to flee on foot.

Police are now seeking information from the public about the suspect's identity. He is described as being between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium to dark complexion, and weighing around 105-160 pounds. The man was wearing dark gray jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and a ski mask when he committed the attacks.

Residents in Logan Square are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police immediately. 🚨 just got word from a source that one of the witnesses who saw the suspect had actually seen him around town before, like a week ago 🤔. Apparently, the guy was hanging out in other neighborhoods too, so it's not like he came out of nowhere. I'm thinking the cops might need to expand their search area a bit more than just Logan Square... idk if that's gonna make a difference though 😕

Ugh 😩 I was out with my girlfriends at a club last weekend in this same neighborhood, Logan Square, and we had to be super careful walking around at night. This is just so frustrating 🤯, especially for us women who already feel like we're on edge all the time. The fact that these girls were attacked from behind, without even being able to see their attacker's face... it's just devastating 😔.
