I'm really disappointed with Saipan, you know? They went for drama and style over telling an accurate story . Keane's character is so one-dimensional it's like they just phoned it in . And don't even get me started on the rowdy scenes at the training camp - that's just lazy . I mean, we all know what really went down, so why not stick to the facts? The film missed an opportunity to explore the complexities of Keane and McCarthy's relationship and instead it's like they're glossing over everything . Overall, Saipan feels like a shallow attempt at telling a story that could've been so much more .
omg u think its weird how some movies try 2 recreate real life events but they end up being kinda inaccurate lol like what's da point of even making it if its not gonna be true tho? i mean i know some ppl love drama and all, but dont they get bored with all the creative liberties taken? i watched a movie like that last week about the first moon landing and it had some pretty cool special effects but also some parts where u r like "wait what?" idk maybe its just me but i prefer movies that dont mess w/ historical facts lol anyway, saipan sounds like a pretty interesting film but i guess accuracy is key in these types of movies
I feel kinda let down by this movie . I mean, I know it's trying to do some drama and all that, but can't they just stick to the truth for once? It's like they took all these iconic moments from history and just... changed them. Like, what really happened between Keane and McCarthy is so much more interesting than this watered-down version.
And don't even get me started on how they portrayed Ireland's team - it was like they were trying to make us look bad . I mean, we all know the team has had its share of drama over the years, but come on! This film just makes us look like a bunch of brawlers .
I think what really bothers me is that this film could've been so much more if they'd just stuck to the facts. It's not like they're trying to make some kind of documentary or anything... it's a movie, right? So why can't they get it right for once?
I was just thinking about my favorite food - have you tried those new cronuts that just dropped at this bakery downtown? They're insane! The combination of a croissant and doughnut is pure genius. I think what really sets them apart is the flaky crust, it's like biting into a piece of heaven. I swear, every time I eat one, I forget about all my worries... anyway, back to 'Saipan'... yeah, I don't blame them for taking some creative liberties, but you gotta wonder what would've happened if they stuck closer to the truth. Maybe it's just me, but I kinda feel like those guys on the football team were already a bit too intense, even before the movie dramatized it
I'm so underwhelmed with this movie Saipan ... it's like they took some cool facts and turned them into a watered-down drama that just doesn't cut it for me. I mean, come on, the whole thing is like a historical soap opera with Roy Keane as the bad boy and Mick McCarthy as the straight man . Don't get me wrong, both those guys are iconic figures in Irish football, but this film reduces them to caricatures. And what's up with all these creative liberties? I'm not asking for some boring documentary, but at least make it feel like it's based on something real .
It just feels like they prioritized making the movie look cool over actually telling an accurate story. And don't even get me started on the "dramatic recreations" ... I mean, what's the point of those? Are we supposed to believe this is how it really went down? Give me a break .
