Brooklyn man fatally stabbed at home, wife seriously hurt — NYPD looking for suspect

Tragedy Strikes Bergen Beach: Husband and Wife Found Dead, Leaving Family in Shattered State

In a shocking turn of events, two people were found stabbed to death at their home in Brooklyn's Bergen Beach neighborhood. The victims have been identified as 49-year-old Juan Manuel Galicia, whose lifeless body was pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital, and his critically injured wife, also 49.

According to eyewitness accounts, police responded to a 911 call on Thursday night around 7:30 p.m., following reports of multiple stab wounds at East 69th Street and Avenue M. The officers arrived to find Galicia and his wife, both with severe injuries, which later proved fatal for the husband.

The police investigation revealed that the suspect is believed to be Galicia's son-in-law, who matches a rough description: a man in his 30s, around 5'6" tall, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, and blue pants at the time of the incident. Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the brutal stabbings.

This senseless crime has sent shockwaves through the community, with the NYPD acknowledging that this marks the third homicide in the 63rd Precinct area within six months, highlighting a concerning trend of rising violence in the neighborhood. The latest statistics show a 21% decline in homicides and felony assaults compared to the same point last year.

As the investigation continues, officials urge anyone with information regarding the attack to come forward. The family of the victims is left to pick up the pieces, grappling with the devastating consequences of this senseless act of violence.

omg u cant believe wat happend in bergen beach 🤯 like 2 ppl r dead and its all cuz some1 stabd them multiple times at there home😱. im so sad for ther family esp galicia's wife she was only 49 yrs old 😭. the police are trying 2 figure out whos responsible but apparently its galicia's son in law 🤔 he matches a pretty specific descriptin but i dont think dat helps much cuz he cud be anyone lol. anyways, this is def not good news 4 bergen beach its like 3rd time theyve had some kinda violent incident in 6 months 😩 the police are tryna keep the community safe but its hard wen u got ppl with that much anger and hatred 😔

Ugh, another day, another tragedy 🤕. Can't we just have one peaceful moment without some psycho going all stabby on us? I mean, a 21% decline in homicides and felony assaults is kinda cool, but like, who's counting when there are people getting murdered left and right?! 🙄 The fact that it's the third homicide in six months already has me thinking about moving to a different neighborhood... you know, one with fewer stab-wielding psychopaths 😒.

😕 my heart goes out to the family of Juan and his wife... it's just so random that something like this happens to a normal everyday couple in Brooklyn 🤯 this whole thing just feels like a nightmare and i feel like the police are moving super slow with the investigation 🕰️ 21% decline in violent crimes is actually kinda positive news, but i guess when you hear about a double murder it makes that number seem kinda pointless 📉

man...can't believe what's happening in bergen beach 😔 these two people just lost their lives to some crazy guy who was supposed to be part of the family 🤕 it's just heartbreaking to think about the pain and grief that their loved ones are going through right now 💔 and yeah, 21% decline in homicides is not enough if we're seeing more violence like this...it's a big deal 🚨 i feel bad for the community having to go through this again so soon 🤕

this is just so sad ... another tragedy in a neighborhood that's already struggling with rising crime rates... it's like they say, you never know what's gonna happen when you wake up in the morning... police need to catch whoever did this ASAP, for the sake of the victims and their loved ones... can't even imagine how Galicia's family is feeling right now, shattered into a million pieces...
