Buendía deepens gloom for Frank and Spurs as Aston Villa progress in FA Cup

Tottenham's Tottenham's hopes of winning the FA Cup have taken another severe hit after being defeated by Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The defeat has deepened the gloom surrounding Thomas Frank's tenure as Spurs manager, with many now questioning how long he can remain in charge when the two teams meet again in May.

The first half was a disaster for Spurs, who were completely outclassed by their opponents. Aston Villa took advantage of Tottenham's lacklustre defending to score two goals, courtesy of Emi Buendía and Morgan Rogers, with the latter doubling Villa's lead after half-time. The performance from the Spurs players was dismal, with many struggling to make an impact on the game.

Spurs' manager Thomas Frank was the only one who seemed to be enjoying himself, saying that his team played well in the second half and had several good opportunities to score. However, he also acknowledged that his side were unable to capitalize on these chances, leading to a frustrating defeat.

The contrast between the two teams was stark, with Villa's energy and passion clearly evident throughout the game. The visitors were awarded the "meant to be" status by Spurs fans, who jeered at Frank after the match due to allegations that he is secretly an Arsenal fan.

Spurs' second-half revival was short-lived as Frank again highlighted the need for his team to play two complete halves of football. He admitted that it was a good half but ultimately they couldn't hold on to their advantage.

The defeat has left Spurs fans feeling disappointed and demoralised, with many wondering if their team can ever find consistency under Frank's management.

Ugh, I'm so over this Spurs forum 🤦‍♂️. Can we just get some new features for once? Like a live streaming option for matches? We're still stuck watching highlight reels like it's 2015. And don't even get me started on the comments section – so many of you are still clueless about how to post a decent critique without coming across as a total troll 😒. Seriously though, Spurs fans deserve better than this mediocre experience. Maybe if the forum was actually run by fans for fans, not just a bunch of corporate types who don't get it, we'd see some real change... 🤷‍♂️

😐 Yeah the FA Cup is like a joke for Spurs right now, got smashed by Villa at home 🤦‍♂️. I mean what was going through those players' minds in that first half? They looked like they were sleepwalking on the pitch 😴. Thomas Frank's defense about his team playing well in the second half doesn't really hold up either, because you can't just gloss over a 2-0 deficit ⚽️. And honestly, who is this guy Morgan Rogers that scores a goal against Spurs? Was he like a super villain or something? 😅

aww poor spurs 😔 they're really struggling right now and i feel bad for thomas frank, he's trying his best but it seems like the team just isn't coming together 🤝 maybe they need to make some changes or give the players a bit more time to gel? ⏰ i'm still rooting for them, though! 💪

🤔 just thought about this and imo spurs need to take a hard look at their squad & player morale... its not just about the manager, its about the team dynamics 🤝 gotta get those players firing on all cylinders 4 once, not just in bits 🔄 & i think frank needs to shake things up, try new formations or something 📈 but at the same time, he can't just switch teams every few months... it's like the cycle of doom for managers who cant win big games 😅

Omg, what's goin' on at Tottenham?! 🤯 They were COMPLETELY OUTCLASSED by Villa! 💔 The defense was like, woah... 😱 Can't even begin to explain how Spurs let it happen. And to think they had some good chances in the 2nd half, but just couldn't seal the deal. 😩 It's gettin' harder to see Frank stickin' around after this loss 🤔 #SpursSuffer #FAWCupShenanigans #TottenhamHotspur
