I mean, think about it, we all wanna be heroes right?
But let's get real for a sec... I've seen people who are literally shaking like leaves during an earthquake, and others who are just chillin' while everyone else is running around like crazy. It's like, what if you're the only one who sees someone in trouble? Would you jump into action or freeze up?
I know some people would say it's all about having a hero complex, but I think that's a bit simplistic. I mean, have you ever seen a news report of a disaster and thought to yourself, "Man, I wish I could do something to help"? That's because we're wired to care about others, even if we don't always act on it.
And let's not forget experience plays a huge role here... like, if you've been in a tough situation before, you might be more chill under pressure. But what about people who haven't had that kind of experience? Do they get to skip the whole "feeling scared" thing just because they're not experienced?
I think we need to work on building up our empathy and compassion levels so we can actually respond in a heroic way when it counts.
It's not rocket science, but we gotta want to help others, you know? And I'm not saying everyone has to be a hero, but if you're just gonna stand by and watch someone suffer... that's not being human, in my opinion
