Celtic: Martin O'Neill confirms Wilfried Nancy will be appointed manager this week

Martin O'Neill, Celtic's interim manager, has confirmed that Wilfried Nancy will be appointed as the new manager of the club this week. The 73-year-old O'Neill will manage Celtic for one final game before handing over to Nancy, who will take charge on Wednesday's league match against Dundee.

O'Neill expressed his excitement about Nancy taking over, saying he was "delighted" that he had been given the opportunity to work with him. He also praised the confidence of Nancy, describing it as a "nice one for him [against Hearts], a nice introduction". O'Neill stated that he will be observing Nancy's performance from Wednesday and said "it is entirely up to him [Nancy]".

O'Neill has led Celtic since Brendan Rodgers resigned over a month ago, guiding them to six of seven matches, narrowing the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Just hope Wilfried Nancy can bring some stability to Celtic's midfield - that area's been lacking for them lately 😊. O'Neill's been doing a solid job on a interim basis, but it's clear they need someone more long-term to keep up with the likes of Rangers and Hearts πŸ†. Fingers crossed Nancy comes in with a clear plan and can build on what O'Neill's started πŸ’ͺ.

πŸ˜‚ just saw the news about Martin O'Neill stepping down as Celtic's manager and I'm low-key impressed that Wilfried Nancy is taking over πŸ’ͺ he seems like a solid pick! I mean, O'Neill did a decent job keeping them in contention for the league title πŸ† but at 73, it's gotta be time to hand over the reins πŸ˜‚ Nancy's got some big shoes to fill, but I think Celtic will be fine under him πŸ‘ can't wait to see how he'll do against Dundee on Wednesday πŸ’₯

πŸ€” I'm so done with these last-minute managerial changes in football 🏟️... it's like they're trying to confuse fans more than the players πŸ˜‚. First, Rodgers leaves and O'Neill takes over, and now Nancy is going in as a "new" manager? What even is that? πŸ˜’ And don't even get me started on O'Neill giving away the reins so easily πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... I mean, if he's that confident in Nancy, why not give him more time to settle in? It just feels like they're trying to make a quick exit while still getting some wins under their belt πŸ’Έ. And what about the fans' loyalty and trust? Do we just get to forget that O'Neill's been there for a month already? πŸ™„

Ugh, come on! 73 years old? Martin O'Neill leading Celtic? That's a joke, right? I mean, what's next? Tom Hanks being the new manager of the Premier League? πŸ˜‚ The guy's been out of the game for ages and now he gets to hand over the reins to Wilfried Nancy, who's only just joined. I'm sure O'Neill is thrilled to be managing Celtic one last time, but can't someone else try their luck while they still have a pulse? And what's with all this fuss about Nancy being "delighted" to take over? Did O'Neill really think that was something special? A nice introduction? Against Hearts? Give me a break! πŸ™„

Just hope Wilfried Nancy can keep up the momentum and lead Celtic to some big wins 🀞! O'Neill might be stepping down but I've gotta give him credit for holding it together these past few weeks - 6 wins out of 7 is no joke! πŸ™Œ But, on the other hand, 73?! 😲 Thats a lot of experience... fingers crossed Nancy can bring in some fresh ideas and take the team to new heights! πŸ‘Š

Just imagine this, O'Neill is wrapping up his stint as Celtic's manager and Nancy is taking the reins πŸ€”. It's interesting that he'll only be managing one game before handing over... I guess it shows how confident they are in Nancy's abilities πŸ’Ό. Six wins out of seven isn't bad for a short tenure πŸ†. O'Neill seems to think Nancy has got this, and honestly, who knows? It's gonna be cool to watch him lead the team on Wednesday πŸ“Ί. Celtic fans might be feeling a mix of emotions right now 😬. Bring it on, I guess! πŸ‘Š

I think its gonna be interesting seein how Nancy does as the new gaffer at Celtic πŸ€”. O'Neill's doin a great job on a temporary basis, but I'm sure Wilfried's got some tricks up his sleeve πŸ‘Š. The fact that he won against Hearts was a big win for him and now hes takin over a team with loads of talent 🎯. Should be fun to watch how the team responds under new management 😁. O'Neill seems like a class act, passing the torch on to someone who can take Celtic to the next level πŸ’ͺ

omg did u know that i just tried the new vegan pizza place downtown and it's literally life changing πŸ•πŸ€© i mean the crust is so crispy and the flavors are insane! i've been trying to cut back on dairy and gluten for a while now, but this place has really convinced me to go full vegan πŸŒ±πŸ’š anyway, back to celtic... i guess it's interesting that they're making a change at the manager position. 73 is pretty old to be taking on a new role tho πŸ˜‚ i mean what's next, having a team of seniors playing in the league? 🀣

omg cant wait 2 c how wilfried nancy doz as manager lol he sounds like a great coach 4 the team! i'm hyped that martin o'neill gets 1 last game 2 show us what hes got but im sure wilfried's gonna bring some fresh vibes 2 the squad πŸ€”πŸ† dunno how celtic's gonna do w/ nancy at the helm tho, they were lookin good w/ brendan rodgers 🀞

I'm sure it's just what the team needed - another managerial change πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, who needs stability when you can have someone new coming in and trying to figure everything out on their own? And O'Neill gets to hand over after just one more game... how generous of him πŸ˜’. Six wins in seven matches is impressive, but I'm sure it's all just a fluke until Nancy comes along and totally messes the whole thing up πŸ€”. At least O'Neill is happy about it, and who can blame him? He gets to go back to whatever it was he was doing before this managerial hot seat πŸ˜‚.

just hope nancy can build on what o'Neill did 🀞... think he's got some big decisions ahead of him tho πŸ˜…. 73 and gone is one thing but still gotta perform under pressure, dont wanna see him struggle too much πŸ’”. fans will be watching closely i'm sure πŸ‘€. anyway, Celtic's luck seems to change when they lose o'Neill 🀣... hope that's not the case this time out ⚽️

πŸ€” cant believe theyre lettin a 73 yr old man take over just cuz he likes the new manager lol what happened to the rest of his youth πŸ˜’. i mean nancy seems decent but isnt exactly a savior or anything πŸ‘Ž. im still hyped about celtic tho, lets see if nancy can keep up the good form 🀞

😊 So like I'm thinking about this new manager Wilfried Nancy and I'm not really sure what to expect but he seems like a solid choice πŸ€”. Celtic's in a good spot right now, so fingers crossed that Nancy can keep them going πŸ’ͺ. I mean, Martin O'Neill did a great job stepping in and keeping things stable while the club was looking for a new manager πŸ‘. But now it's time for him to pass the torch and let someone else take the reins 🎸. He seems confident that Nancy will do a good job, which is great to see πŸ’«. Now we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out πŸ“Ί.

So its finally happening!! 🀩 I'm loving this mid-season shakeup! I mean, Wilfried Nancy coming in as the new gaffer is a great choice, imo πŸ™Œ He's got some solid experience under his belt and I think he'll do Celtic justice πŸ’ͺ. O'Neill seems like a classy guy who's handing over the reins with style πŸ‘. I'm curious to see how Nancy handles the pressure on Wednesday vs Dundee ⚽️. Can't wait to dive into the analysis πŸ“Š and see if Nancy can keep Celtic in contention for the top spot! πŸ”₯

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised they're making Wilfried Nancy the new manager so soon... like, what happened to some other qualified candidates? πŸ™„ O'Neill's been doing a decent job as interim, but handing over to Nancy after just one game feels a bit hasty. 😐 Don't get me wrong, Nancy does seem confident on the pitch, but can he replicate that form consistently? ⏰ I'm also curious about how he'll handle the pressure of leading such a big team... 🀝

Aww poor Martin O'Neill... he's been holding it together for so long, and now he gets to hand over the reins to Wilfried Nancy πŸ€—πŸ‘. I can imagine how emotional this must be for him - one last hurrah before passing on the torch πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ. It's amazing that he's being so supportive of Nancy, too - that confidence in the young manager is really inspiring πŸ’•. And wow, six wins out of seven? Celtic is looking like a real force to be reckoned with right now πŸ†πŸ‘Š. Can't wait to see what Wilfried brings to the table this week! πŸ˜ƒ

can you believe martyn o neill is handing over the reins so soon? i mean, 6 wins out of 7 is not bad, but it's clear that nancy needs some time to settle in. O'Neill is just being a good sport about it tho, deserves credit for that. but seriously, what if he was trying to make a point by stepping down early? maybe he wanted to give the new gaffer a chance to prove himself, or show that he's not getting too attached to the job

I don't know why O'Neill is so excited about handing over to Nancy, like he's really invested in him or something πŸ€”. I mean, it's not like he didn't see it coming... but still, it's a big change for Celtic. I'm kinda worried about how this will affect their performance now that O'Neill is gone πŸ’”. At the same time, Nancy seems pretty cool and all, so maybe this is exactly what they need 🀞. But then again, why would Celtic want to risk losing some momentum before the week is out? πŸ™„
