Chris Eubank Jr alludes to pre-fight 'issues' before Conor Benn loss: 'I’ve been through hell and back'

Chris Eubank Jr revealed that the pre-fight "issues" he alluded to before his loss to Conor Benn were more than just physical struggles.

The 33-year-old had been open about the emotional toll of his first fight with Benn, a rematch which saw the Englishman's devastating left hook leave him stunned and on his backside twice in the last round of their bout.

Eubank Jr told reporters afterwards that he had gone through "hell and back" to prepare for the match.

He had also suffered some significant physical injuries beforehand, including a bruised face, which he said may have been a factor in how well Benn performed.

I'm reading this about Chris Eubank Jr and his fight with Conor Benn... 😕 I feel bad for him, he went through so much physically and emotionally before the match. A bruised face isn't nothing to brush off, you know? 🤕 And now he's saying it was a tough pre-fight, that he was going through hell and back... 💔 That left hook from Benn must've been brutal! 😱

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Chris Eubank Jr's loss to Conor Benn. Like, I get it, you're human and stuff happens, but 33 is not old, fam 🤷‍♂️. Eubank Jr seemed to be all in on that fight, pouring his heart out for the rematch. But at the same time, he's gotta admit, Benn came correct 💥. I'm curious to see how Eubank Jr recovers from this and what changes he'll make to come back stronger next time 🤔. Maybe a new trainer or something? The thing is, Benn was like a wrecking ball in that last round 😂. Did Eubank Jr just get caught with the wrong punch or did he not see it coming? Either way, it's been an interesting few weeks for boxing fans 👀

I'm low-key worried about what's gonna happen when fighters like Eubank Jr start talking about the mental toll of their sport 🤕. It's all well and good for them to open up about it now, but we need more than just a few interviews to get to the bottom of this stuff. What are the support systems in place for guys who are going through this? Are there resources available to help them cope with the emotional strain of training and fighting? I think we're just scratching the surface here 💭.

I'm like totally surprised Chris Eubank Jr is saying those things about his pre-fight struggles... like, come on! It's not like he was all out of shape or anything. I mean, the guy went the distance with Conor Benn, that's no joke 🤯. And what's with this "hell and back" stuff? Sounds like a bunch of hype to me 😂. I think Eubank Jr is just trying to spin his own loss and make himself look bad. Like, he's still a solid boxer, he can handle Conor Benn... or at least he did 🤷‍♂️.

I'm still trying to process what went down between Eubank Jr and Benn 🤯. It's clear that physically, Eubank Jr wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders - I mean, that bruised face doesn't exactly scream "peak condition" 😬. But the emotional toll of it all? That's a different story altogether.

It's been said before that mental preparation is just as important as physical training when it comes to fighting, and Eubank Jr seemed to be struggling with both. I can only imagine what it must have felt like to be in his shoes, knowing you're up against an opponent who seems almost unbeatable 💥. And that left hook from Benn? Ouch - I'm pretty sure even the toughest of fighters would've been reeling from a punch like that 😲.

It's also interesting to note how Eubank Jr seemed to downplay his physical struggles beforehand, almost as if he was trying to psyche himself out 🤔. Either way, it's clear that this loss won't be easily forgotten - and I'm curious to see how Eubank Jr will bounce back from this 😊.

I feel so bad for Chris Eubank Jr, he's been through so much leading up to that fight 🤕. Emotional struggles are something we all deal with but not everyone feels brave enough to speak out about it. I hope he takes the time to prioritize his mental health after this tough loss 💆‍♂️. It's a harsh reality check for all of us who think we're invincible, even in sports 🏋️‍♂️. We need more support systems like therapy and mentorship programs in place for athletes dealing with similar issues 🤝.

Ugh 🤕 I'm so done with these platforms, can't even get a decent discussion going without people jumping all over each other. This Chris Eubank Jr guy's story is actually kinda sad, though 😔. He was really struggling to prepare for that fight and it took a toll on his mental health too. It's not just about the physical stuff, but how you're gonna deal with the pressure and stress of being in the ring. I feel bad for the dude, he seemed like he was already at his breaking point before even getting in the ring 🤯. Can't we all just take a deep breath and have a discussion without tearing each other apart? 😒

Man, I'm not surprised about Chris Eubank Jr's post-fight comments 🤔. He's always been a bit of an enigma, you know? People thought he was just talking trash before the fight, but it seems like there's more to it than that 💡. The fact that he went through all this emotional struggle to prepare for the match is crazy – I mean, who wouldn't be affected by something like that? 😬 And yeah, physical injuries can definitely take a toll on your performance in the ring. It's just one of those things where you've got to dig deep and find the mental strength to push through 💪.

But what I do find interesting is how we always expect boxers to be this tough, this rugged guys who don't show any emotions 🤷‍♂️. Like, they're supposed to be invincible or something. But Eubank Jr's been open about his struggles, and that's something we should all appreciate 🙏. Maybe it'll help break down some of those barriers and make the sport a bit more relatable?

omg i feel so bad 4 chris eubank jr 🤕 he went thru SO much emotionally & physically for that fight and still managed 2 get knocked out 💔 the emotional toll of bein in that position again must've been super tough 4 him, all those times he got dwn 2 the mat 😩 & i cant even imagine how frustrating it mst b 2 have 2 go thru all that prep & struggle 4 a fight tht doesnt even go ur way 🤦‍♂️ 1 thing tho, lets give it 2 him 4 bein so open & honest abt his struggles, it takes alot of courage 2 share that kinda stuff with the world 💕

🤕 Not surprised tbh, we all know boxing is as much about mental game as it is physical strength. People say you can't fake the punches but I think some of the emotional baggage they carry around can give 'em an edge 😊. Eubank Jr knew he was in for a tough fight and that's why he went through hell, literally 💥. Still, gotta respect his willingness to speak up about it 🤝.

can't believe eubanks jr is being so honest about his mental state now. all that trash talk before the fight was just him trying to hide what was really going on inside his head 🤕 it's not easy to admit you're struggling with anxiety and depression, especially in a sport like boxing where everyone's always pushing each other to be their best. but honestly, eubank jr is an inspiration for speaking out about mental health - maybe more fighters should do the same? 💯
