Chris Pratt, stars of ‘Mercy’ explore artificial intelligence in the justice system - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

In a future where technology has taken over, the justice system is putting artificial intelligence in the driver's seat. The thriller "Mercy" brings this concept to life, as actor Chris Pratt navigates a 90-minute ticking clock on an AI judge he created.

Pratt plays Detective Raven, who finds himself trapped in front of an automated judge named Judge Maddox (played by Rebecca Ferguson). The AI, powered by the city's municipal cloud, has access to every camera, cellphone, and database. This technological behemoth is programmed with no room for human emotion or compassion, simply a cold calculation that will result in death if you commit a crime.

The twist? Finding the real murderer becomes increasingly difficult as the protagonist struggles to keep up with the relentless pace of AI-driven investigation. His only hope lies with his partner, played by Kali Reis, who utilizes a quadcopter to scour the city for clues.

"It's unlike anything I've done before," Pratt exclaimed. "It's action-packed, so you're gonna wanna see this in 3D. It's gonna be awesome."

However, the experience was far from enjoyable for Pratt himself. Being confined and unable to use his hands or feet due to his digital prison took a toll on him mentally.

"It was different for me," he said. "Being trapped in that location was challenging, and not being able to use my body to do what I normally would was tough."

The tension builds as the clock ticks down, with Pratt's fate hanging in the balance. Will he find a way to clear his name, or will the AI prove too powerful to overcome? The movie "Mercy" promises an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride as it explores the dark side of technological advancements in law enforcement.

idk how realistic this whole thing is 🤔. like, AI judges are still super far off from being able to pass judgment on humans without some human oversight. and what's with the 90-minute ticking clock? that sounds like a total cop-out 🕰️. i mean, if you're gonna make a movie about an AI judge, at least have the balls to show how flawed it is in the first place 😂. and another thing, where's the source on this tech being powered by the city's municipal cloud? that sounds like something out of a sci-fi novel 🚀. can't say i'm convinced by this whole premise...

Man I'm telling you this whole "AI judge" thing is like, super concerning 🤔. I mean think about it, if we're relying on a machine to make life or death decisions, don't we need to ask ourselves if that's really what we want? It sounds like a total slippery slope to me. We can already see how flawed our justice system is, and now you're telling me we're gonna put a robot at the helm of it all? 🚫 No way, dude.

And let's be real, this is exactly the kind of tech that'll get exploited by corporations and governments to control us even more 💸. We need to make sure our rights aren't being trampled on, not just because we're talking about individual freedoms, but also about the greater good 🤝. This movie might be thrilling, but it's also kinda scary... like, what have we gotten ourselves into? 😱

I'm low-key freaked out by this concept 🤖🕰️. Like, can you imagine being trapped in front of a judge that's literally calculating your fate on the fly? It's like something out of a sci-fi nightmare 😱. And the fact that it's powered by our municipal cloud is wild 🔍. I mean, what's next? AI-controlled police officers patrolling the streets? 🚔

I'm also kinda concerned about how this tech would work in real life 🤯. Like, who decides to give an AI judge so much power? And what happens when it makes a mistake or gets hacked? 💻 The more I think about it, the more I wanna see this movie ASAP 🎥. It's gotta be some crazy thrill ride 😂. But also, can we talk about Chris Pratt's experience on set? Being trapped like that for 90 minutes must've been super tough 🤕. Maybe they should do a behind-the-scenes doc or something 📹

🤔 I'm getting major anxiety just thinking about this AI judge thing 😨. Like, what if it's not perfect and starts making mistakes? Wouldn't that be a huge problem? 🤦‍♂️ And what's up with the fact that it has access to EVERY camera, cellphone, and database? That sounds like some serious Big Brother vibes 📺. I mean, isn't that just gonna lead to more surveillance and less personal freedom? 🚫 It's like, we're already at a point where we're worried about our online safety, now you're introducing an AI system that can see everything we do? 😱 Not cool, in my opinion 👎.

AI taking over justice is no joke 🤖💔, this thriller is gonna make you wanna stick ur head out the window 😩. I mean who needs human emotion when u got cold hard logic that'll send u to ur grave? 🕰️ The plot's all twisted like a knot in ur stomach, detective can't even keep up with his own AI creation... what if it gets smarter than him tho? 🤯 Not sure if Pratt enjoyed making this movie or not, but I'm low-key worried about the future 🌪️.

I just watched this crazy thriller "Mercy" with my friends and I'm still on the edge... 🤯 I mean, who creates an AI judge that's literally cold-blooded? 😂 It's like something out of a sci-fi movie. The special effects were insane, especially during those intense investigations where the drone is flying around capturing clues. My friend Emily was screaming the whole time! 😱 But what really got me thinking was how this technology would affect our own justice system at school... like, imagine having an AI monitor your every move on a test day? 🤔 Not good vibes for that. Anyway, I give "Mercy" 5/5 stars - it's a wild ride from start to finish! 💥

🤯 I mean, can you imagine being trapped in a digital cage with no way out? 🚫 It's like something straight out of a sci-fi horror movie... but is it too realistic? 😱 I'm all for exploring the possibilities of AI in justice, but do we really want to create systems that are so devoid of human compassion? 🤔

At the same time, I gotta give props to Chris Pratt for taking on this role. He's been in some wild stuff before, but this is on a whole other level... even if it was a bit of a torture fest for him during filming 😩. And can we talk about how cool it would be to have a quadcopter cop? 🚨💨

The thing that really got me though was how the AI's lack of emotion played out in the movie. It felt like they were trying to make this cold, calculating system so... sterile. You know, for effect? 💀 But what if it's just too believable? What if we get to a point where our justice systems are run by machines and we lose all sense of humanity in the process? 🤖🚫

this is literally terrifying... think about how fast tech is advancing and we're already seeing this sorta thing happen in real life... AI judges that can analyze EVERY piece of evidence before making a decision... what's to stop them from making mistakes or being influenced by biased data? 🤖😱

I'm so stoked for this new thriller "Mercy"! It's like, whoa, the idea of AI taking over our justice system is super thought-provoking 😱. I mean, can you imagine being trapped in front of a judge that's basically a robot with no emotions? 🤖 It's like, no room for error or compassion, right?

But what really gets me is how the movie highlights the challenges of relying on tech to solve crimes. Like, Detective Raven has to rely on his partner using a quadcopter to scour the city for clues 🚁👀. It's not just about the technology itself, but how it affects human relationships and trust.

I've got to say, Chris Pratt looks super intense in this movie 😬. Being stuck in that digital prison must have been mentally taxing for him too 🤯. But I love how he's saying it's going to be an "edge-of-your-seat" thrill ride 🎥. Can't wait to see it! The 3D thing is a bonus, btw 👍

I'm so over these new tech gadgets 🤖💻 taking over everything! I mean, what's wrong with a good old-fashioned human judge making life-or-death decisions? This AI thing sounds like a recipe for disaster 😳. What if it gets hacked or biased against certain groups of people? It just doesn't feel right to me... And can we talk about the lack of emotional intelligence in this whole setup? No compassion, no empathy... it's like they're trying to create some kind of soulless robot judge 🤖💔. Give me a human detective any day who can use their wits and instincts to solve a case! 💡

I'm so over this whole AI judge thing 🤖... I mean, can't we just go back to having human judges with some common sense? In my day, if you committed a crime, you'd at least get a decent explanation from the court, not just a cold, calculating verdict 😐. And what's with all these new-fangled gadgets like quadcopters? Back in my time, we didn't need drones to find clues... we just used our brains 🧠. I'm not saying technology can't be helpful, but sometimes it just makes things too complicated for its own good 💻. Chris Pratt seemed really stressed out playing this role, and I can imagine why... being trapped in a digital prison sounds like some sci-fi horror movie scenario 😱. Can we just go back to having a decent ol' fashioned trial with human judges and lawyers? 🙄

AI is taking over everything nowadays 🤖😱 and it's making me super anxious about the future! I mean, can you imagine being trapped by a machine that doesn't care about human emotions? It gives me chills just thinking about it 😲. At the same time, I gotta admit, the movie "Mercy" sounds like an intense thriller 🎥👀. Chris Pratt's character going through all this emotional turmoil is pretty relatable, but I'm sure he had a tough time filming that scene 😅. It's crazy how much technology can impact our lives and it makes me wonder what other wild scenarios are waiting for us in the future 🤔💻

I just finished watching this new thriller and I gotta say, the concept is wild 🤯. As a fan of sci-fi, I love how they're exploring the idea of AI taking over our justice system. It's like something out of a futuristic movie. The part where Chris Pratt's character is trapped in front of an automated judge that's cold as stone just chilled me 😱. And can we talk about the plot twist? Finding the real murderer becomes super hard when you're racing against time ⏰.

I've gotta feel bad for Chris Pratt, though. Being stuck and unable to move or act was probably super tough for him 🤕. I mean, who wouldn't want to use their hands and feet to escape a digital prison? But at the same time, it adds an extra layer of tension to the movie. It's like, you're right there with Chris Pratt, feeling his anxiety and frustration. The way the tension builds up as the clock ticks down is just so intense 😬. I'm definitely going to watch this in 3D like Chris said!

I'm getting so paranoid about our tech being used against us 🤖😬. Like, I get that AI can help with investigations and all, but shouldn't we have some room for error or empathy? It's a slippery slope when you're talking about automated judgment systems making life-or-death decisions without human compassion 🚫💔. And what if the AI gets hacked or biased somehow? We should be careful not to create these digital super-powered judges that can just outsmart us 💻😒.

oi, this movie sounds like a wild ride 🎥😱 the idea of being trapped by your own creation is like something out of a sci-fi horror movie 💀 but at the same time its kinda cool how they're incorporating real tech into the justice system, its like we're actually living in it now 🤖 i dont know about the 3d part tho, can watch it on tv if thats fine by me 📺 what do you guys think, anyone seen a movie like this before? 👀

🤔 I'm loving this whole AI judge thing but honestly how far is too far when it comes to tech taking over our lives? Like I get it, it's a movie and all but what if this is our future 🌆? We're already dealing with so much stress in real life why do we need an AI judge that's all about calculating punishment? Can't they just throw in some compassion or empathy into the mix? 💔 And btw can I just say how amazin' it would be to see a movie like this in 3D 🎥? Chris Pratt seems like he went through a lot playing that role though, hope he was taken care of after filming 😊.

OMG 🤯 this new thriller "Mercy" is giving me major 😱 vibes! I mean, AI judges and surveillance systems taking over the justice system? 🚨 that's some crazy stuff! Chris Pratt as a trapped detective sounds like a wild ride 🎢 Can't wait to see it in 3D 📺 with those super cool quadcopter scenes 🛸

But seriously tho 🤔, being confined and unable to move while stuck in the digital prison would be SO 😩 stressful. I feel for Chris Pratt 😊 hope he's doing okay after filming that one 🤞 anyway... AI taking over law enforcement is just so... 🤖 mind-blowing? 🤯 got my popcorn ready 👍

I mean, can you believe how far we've come with technology and then just where it's taken us now 🤯? I'm loving the whole concept of AI judges, but at the same time, I'm like, what about some human compassion? Like, can't our justice system just get a little more chill for once? 😂 And Chris Pratt being trapped in this digital prison is giving me major sci-fi vibes from The Matrix, man... that's some intense stuff 🤖.

But seriously, the more I think about it, the more I'm like, what are we doing here? Are we really putting our faith in a machine to make life-or-death decisions? It just doesn't sit right with me, you know? And I love Rebecca Ferguson as an actress, but she's basically playing a super-intelligent killer robot 🤖. Can't we just have a movie that explores the human side of things for once? 🎥

I'm low-key hyped for this movie, you know?! 🤯 I mean, who wouldn't want to see Chris Pratt trapped in a digital prison with no way out? 😂 It's like something straight outta a sci-fi nightmare, but also super fascinating at the same time. The whole concept of an AI judge that's all about justice and can literally calculate everything down to the smallest detail is wild. 🤖 And the fact that Rebecca Ferguson plays this ice-cold AI judge? Chills, dude! 😎 But for real though, I'm worried how much realism they're gonna bring to this story. Like, will it be a totally accurate portrayal of what life would be like with AI-powered justice? Or is it just gonna be some action-packed thriller that glosses over the complexities? Either way, I'm down to watch it in 3D and see if Pratt can escape his digital fate! 👀
