Eagles notes: Christian Parker replacement; Eagles players shut out of NFL postseason honors

The Philadelphia Eagles' coaching staff is facing an uncertainty, as Christian Parker, the team's defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach, has left for a defensive coordinator role with the Dallas Cowboys.

The question now is who will replace Parker. One name that comes to mind is Joe Kasper, the safeties coach who was with the Eagles from 2021 to 2022 and later followed Vic Fangio to Miami before returning to Philadelphia in 2024. Fangio trusts Kasper, having coached him at both the Dolphins and the Eagles, and it's likely that Kasper will be promoted to a more senior role.

Meanwhile, the Eagles' players are feeling the heat, as none of them were selected as finalists for the NFL postseason honors this year. A year ago, several players, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, linebacker Zack Baun, and rookie Quinyon Mitchell, were among those recognized by the league. However, in 2025, Mitchell was overlooked despite having a strong regular season, and other young players like Jihaad Campbell, who impressed with his performances before Nakobe Dean returned to the starting lineup.

Campbell did receive some recognition, however, as he made it onto the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. The team's list of rookies included Tyler Shough at quarterback and TreVeyon Henderson and Ashton Jeanty at running back.

It's clear that the Eagles' coaching staff is undergoing some changes, with Parker leaving and Kasper likely to be promoted. As for the players, it seems they'll have to work harder to get recognized by the league if they want to earn postseason honors.

I don't know what's going on with the Eagles right now πŸ€”. First, Christian Parker leaves and then we're left wondering who's gonna step up as defensive coordinator? I mean, Joe Kasper seems like a solid choice, but it's not all about finding someone new, is it? The players need to step their game up too πŸ’ͺ. It's crazy how much pressure they must be feeling with no one getting selected for those postseason honors last year πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Quinyon Mitchell was on fire, yet he didn't get recognized 🎯. And now Campbell's got some recognition, but it's not the same as earning it yourself, you know? πŸ™ƒ Maybe the Eagles just need to regroup and get back to basics?

omg, can't believe Mitchell got snubbed πŸ˜”, that dude had a solid season! on the bright side, Campbell's recognition is still fire πŸ”₯, he's gonna be a star for real πŸ’« now it's time for Kasper to step up as a lead coach 🀞 fingers crossed he gets it right and we see some changes in the team πŸ‘

I'm a bit worried about this team's future πŸ€”. Losing Christian Parker is a big blow, especially since Fangio trusts Kasper so much. It's gonna be interesting to see how Joe takes on a more senior role and what kinda changes he brings to the team's defensive strategy. On the other hand, I feel bad for the young players like Jihaad Campbell who had some great games but still got overlooked by the league πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. They gotta step up their game if they wanna get recognized for their efforts in 2025! 😬

awww man... can't believe Christian Parker left! πŸ€• I remember when he was here, he helped us improve our D and we were so close to making the playoffs! πŸ˜” now it's gonna be tough finding someone who can replace him... Joe Kasper might be the right guy tho, he knows the system and Vic Fangio trusts him. πŸ’― but what's up with Jalen Hurts not makin' any postseason honors? πŸ€” he was on fire last season and I thought for sure he'd get some recognition... and Quinyon Mitchell too! πŸ™„ it's like the league forgot about 'em... or maybe they just didn't play good enough? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway, Campbell made Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team so that's a plus! πŸ‘

πŸ˜• This year's rookie class isn't as shabby as I thought... Campbell getting on that Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team is a definite plus! But still, it's a bummer that none of our guys made it as finalists for the NFL postseason honors πŸ€”. We've gotta give credit to Hurts and Baun for having strong seasons last year, but this year just didn't translate to recognition from the league 😐. Maybe they'll get some nods next year if they can build on what they did in 2024 πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I think it's weird that no one from Philly got any major recognition this year πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. Jalen Hurts is still an amazing QB but somehow he missed out πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And Quinyon Mitchell, despite having a solid season, didn't even get a sniff at those honors πŸ“‰. Meanwhile, some other teams are getting all the love and their young players are being snubbed 🚫. It's like they're invisible πŸ‘€. Maybe it's time for the Eagles to shake things up and bring in someone new with fresh eyes πŸ”„. The question is, will that change bring more recognition or just more disappointment? ⚠️

I'm kinda thinking we need a shake-up around here... I mean, I loved seeing those young guys like Campbell and Mitchell get some recognition last year, but this year it's like they just faded into the background. I don't know what's going on, but it feels like the coaching staff is trying to rebuild from scratch without giving anyone much of a chance to prove themselves. It's like we need someone who can spark that fire in our players again. Kasper seems like a solid bet, though - he knows these guys and has Fangio's trust. Fingers crossed he can turn things around! 🀞

the cowboys just keep making moves lol 🀯 i'm not sure about joe kasper though, he's a solid coach but can he handle the pressure of being defensive coordinator? the eagles need someone who can bring some stability and cohesion to their secondary, which has been shaky at times πŸ’”

I'm surprised no one's talking about how much more overrated Jalen Hurts is becoming πŸ€”. I mean, he's still a decent QB, don't get me wrong, but all these years of getting accolades just because he's the team's QB? It's time for someone else to step up and show him what's really going on out there πŸ”₯. Maybe some of those young players like Campbell or Mitchell will surprise us with their skills and finally get the recognition they deserve 🀞.

I'm not surprised about Christian Parker leaving the Eagles' coaching staff πŸ€”. I mean, he was always a bit of a wild card, and his move to Dallas is like that one aunt who's always off on some crazy adventure 🌍️. Anyway, Joe Kasper seems like a solid choice to replace him - Fangio trusts him, which is key πŸ™.

As for the players not getting selected as finalists for NFL postseason honors this year... yeah, it's no surprise πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, we all know how the league looks at young talent these days πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Jihaad Campbell did make it onto the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team, though, so that's a good sign πŸŽ‰. Maybe the Eagles just need to give those young players more reps and help them fine-tune their skills πŸ’ͺ.

Oh, and I gotta say, this is kind of an understatement - the Eagles' coaching staff changes are huge news πŸ“°! Like, it's not exactly common for defensive coordinators to switch teams mid-season ⏰. But hey, that's football, right?
