Enrollment in NYC schools declines, continuing post-pandemic trend

the numbers are crazy 🤯 i mean, 2.4% drop is still a lot, and it's not just about funding formulas, it's about the actual experience for kids. like, what's driving parents to opt out? is it really that bad in public schools? and why is everyone talking about affordability crisis without addressing the root issue of housing prices 🏠💸

I'm so concerned about what's happening to NYC public schools 🤕 I mean, who wouldn't want to send their kids to an amazing educational system? But it seems like the pandemic has changed everything 😔 100k students lost already?! That's crazy!

And I think the safety concerns, especially with deportation policies, are a major factor for some families 👪. I'm not sure what can be done about those issues, but we need to support our schools in any way we can 💕. The teachers and staff work so hard to provide quality education.

I don't know how they're going to balance the budget with fewer students 🤑. But maybe this is a chance for them to rethink their funding formulas? It's not just about numbers, like one prof said... it's about resources 💸. We need to make sure our schools have enough support staff and programs to help every student thrive!
