Federal Agents Left Behind “Death Cards” After Capturing Immigrants

Feds Leave Behind Graphic Warning After Raiding Immigrant Families, Sparking Fear and Intimidation

In a disturbing incident in Eagle County, Colorado, federal agents left behind customized playing cards with the phrase "ICE Denver Field Office" after raiding two families of immigrants. The cards, which feature an ace of spades design, have been linked to a history of racial violence and intimidation against minority groups.

According to Voces Unidas, an immigrant rights organization that took possession of one of the cards, they were not part of a doctored deck but were designed with a specific legacy in mind. The group's president, Alex Sánchez, described the incident as "an act of intimidation" and an example of ICE's tactics to instill fear in communities.

The use of death cards, which originated during the Vietnam War, has been documented in various military contexts. In the 1960s, US troops used such cards on Vietnamese corpses, and in the 1970s, a film adaptation of Joseph Conrad's "Apocalypse Now" featured a scene with unit-branded playing cards reading "DEATH FROM ABOVE." More recently, Customs and Border Protection has been spotted using similar imagery during immigration raids.

ICE officials have declined to comment on their use of the death cards, but the agency has promised to investigate the incident. The incident highlights the ongoing concerns about ICE's tactics and its impact on immigrant communities, particularly in areas with high concentrations of Latino workers.

As one federal official pointed out, the ace of spades is also a trump card in a popular card game, which could suggest that the death cards are intended as a form of intimidation. Whatever their purpose, the use of such graphic warnings by ICE agents raises serious questions about the agency's commitment to upholding democratic values and respecting the rights of all individuals, regardless of their immigration status.

In a broader context, the incident underscores the need for journalists and media outlets to critically examine the actions of government agencies like ICE and hold them accountable for any abuses of power. As the use of such intimidation tactics by these agencies becomes more common, it is essential that we speak out against them and support efforts to promote truth, transparency, and accountability in our democratic institutions.

I'm still trying to process what's going on with these guys from ICE... I mean, using playing cards like they're some kinda tool for fearmongering? 🤯 It's just low, you know? They raid families, take 'em away, and then leave behind these super graphic warnings that are straight outta a bad horror movie. And now we find out they've been using 'em in other places too... it's like they're trying to create some kinda atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Newsflash: it ain't gonna work, dude. We see through this stuff, and we're not gonna let it stand. 🚫

you know what's wild 🤯... i was at the park yesterday and saw a guy playing with his dog, and it was literally the most adorable thing ever 🐶❤️. but then i started thinking about how that's exactly what we need more of in this world - joy and cuteness in all sorts of situations 😊. like, can't we just focus on spreading positivity instead of fear and intimidation? it's not like we're dealing with a serious issue, just a bunch of people trying to live their lives 🤷‍♀️. anyway, back to the card thing... is that a new thing they're doing at ICE or has this been going on forever?

It's so messed up when govt agents leave creepy playing cards with a message like "ICE Denver Field Office" 🤯 after raiding families...I mean, what kind of sick game is this? The fact that these death cards have been linked to racial violence and intimidation just shows how messed up things are 🚫. It's not cool when they're trying to instill fear in communities like this...can't we all just get along, you know? 😕

🚨 This is totally unacceptable! I mean, what kind of message does ICE want to send with those cards? Like, who needs a "DEATH FROM ABOVE" vibe when you're trying to enforce the law? 🤯 It's all about creating fear and intimidation, and that's not how we do things in this country. We're supposed to be welcoming everyone with open arms, not sending out death threats. 😬 And what really gets my goat is that these cards have been used before, like in Vietnam and stuff, which just shows how messed up our history is. 🤦‍♂️ We need to hold ICE accountable for their actions and make sure they're treating everyone with respect and dignity, no matter their immigration status. 💪 It's not too much to ask, right? 😊

🚨 This is so messed up 🤕... I mean, can you imagine if the tables were turned and they used this kinda thing on a group of police officers or soldiers? It would be a total disaster 🌪️. But no, ICE gets to use it on innocent people who are just trying to live their lives without any problems 😔. And the fact that they left these cards behind like some kind of twisted calling card is just amazing 💀. I'm not surprised that the immigration rights org took possession of one of them and exposed it for what it was - a blatant act of intimidation 🤬. We need to hold ICE accountable for their actions and make sure they're not terrorizing people in our communities 👮‍♂️. It's time to stand up against this kind of abuse of power 💪.

omg just saw this news 🤯😱 about ICE leaving behind those super graphic warning cards after raiding immigrant families 😨👥 in Eagle County, CO... can u imagine being on the receiving end of that? 🤷‍♀️ it's like they're trying to instill fear & intimidate ppl into compliance 🚫💔 i mean what's next? 🙅‍♂️ those death cards have a super dark history too 💀🕵️‍♂️ from US troops using them on Vietnamese corpses during the Vietnam War to customs agents using similar imagery during immigration raids 🚫👮‍♂️ this is just plain creepy 😳 and we need 2 speak out against it ASAP 💬💪

🤯 I don't think this is a joke anymore... who does ICE think they are? Leaving behind those death cards like they're playing some twisted game of cat and mouse with immigrant families? 🙅‍♂️ It's super concerning that they'd use such graphic imagery to intimidate people. Like, what's next? Showing up at someone's doorstep with a "DEATH FROM ABOVE" banner? 😱

And honestly, can't we just call this out for what it is: a blatant attempt to instill fear in our communities? 🤦‍♂️ I mean, what kind of agency uses tactics like this and thinks they're above the law? The fact that they're leaving behind those custom playing cards with their logo on them... it's just soooo not right. 😡

We need more scrutiny on these agencies and we need to hold them accountable for their actions. We can't let intimidation tactics like this become the norm. 🚫

Ugh, this is so messed up 🤯😡! I mean, come on, who uses customized playing cards with an ace of spades design as a warning after raiding families? It's just creepy 😳. And to think they're trying to intimidate these people into being silent about their rights... no way, man 💪. Back in my day, we didn't play games like this 🎲. We knew that law enforcement was supposed to uphold the law, not bully people into submission. This kind of thing just makes me wanna scream 🤯! The government needs to step up and put a stop to this stuff before it gets out of hand... ASAP 💨!

omg what's up with these feds?? 🤯 they're literally leaving behind playing cards like some kinda twisted souvenir from their raids on immigrant families 🃏😱 i mean i know it's all about instilling fear but come on... using a card game as a tool for intimidation is straight outta a bad thriller movie 👻. and can we talk about how this is just another example of the systemic racism that's been going on in this country? 🤦‍♀️ i'm so tired of these agencies acting like they're above the law and using tactics that are straight-up psychological warfare 💥. what's next, a deck of cards with a message saying "we're watching you"? 😬 it's time for some serious accountability from our government officials 👮‍♂️

ugh this stuff gives me major vibes of "big brother is watching you" 🕵️‍♂️ICE using death cards as a form of intimidation? no thanks! it's not like they need that kinda power to get people scared. i mean, what's next? playing cards with a swat team design? 🤯 and can we talk about how messed up it is that these cards have a history of being linked to racial violence and stuff? it's just not right. ICE should be all about protecting ppl, not using creepy tactics to control the narrative. 🚫

omg these playing cards are straight outta a horror movie 🕷️, what's next gonna be raiding families with swat teams? 😱 i'm not surprised though, been hearing about ICEs tactics for years and it's always the same - play the victim, use intimidation to get what they want. 🤦‍♂️ those death cards are just a sick way of sayin' "we're watchin' you" but really they're just sayin' "you better be scared". 😳 ICE needs to focus on doin' its job right instead of resortin' to these kinds of tactics. 🤔

I'm still trying to process what I just read 🤯... Those playing cards with "ICE Denver Field Office" are so messed up 😓. I mean, who does that? Leaving these graphic warnings at a raid site is like something out of a bad movie - it's just not right. It's clear ICE is trying to instill fear in immigrant communities and it's having the opposite effect 🤦‍♂️. The fact that they used an ace of spades design, which has ties to racial violence and intimidation, makes me even more uneasy 😬...

I'm literally shaking my head 🤯 over this one... I mean what's next? Using waterboarding as a 'team-building' activity? 😂 ICE needs to get their act together, fam! 🙄 They're supposed to be enforcing laws not instilling fear in innocent people. And those playing cards? Who does that?! 😡 It's just another example of them being super secretive and hiding behind some fancy lawyer speak. I swear, it's like they think we're all gonna forget about this stuff or something 🙄. The government needs to stop playing games with people's lives and start taking actual action to help those in need. We need real change, not just more PR spin 💁‍♀️

🚨👮‍♂️ just did some digging on ICE raids... 76% of immigrants detained have no criminal record 🤝 but still face deportation 😱 60% of those who have been deported were victims of human trafficking or forced labor 💔 meanwhile, the US has a higher incarceration rate for undocumented immigrants (1.3%) than any other developed country 🌎 and we wonder why they're so scared? 🤷‍♂️ btw, 90% of ICE raids occur in areas with high concentrations of Latino workers 📊 70% of those detained report being subjected to physical or verbal abuse 👮‍♀️🚨 gotta ask ourselves, what's really going on here? 🤔

ugh this is so messed up 🤯 what's next gonna be playing cards with a picture of the devil on 'em? these ppl need to get their act together ASAP.ICE needs 2 be held accountable for this kinda crap... it's like they think they can just walk around intimidating people & get away w/it lol no way...

omg u guys this is straight up creepy 🤯 they're literally using graphic warning cards with ace of spades design from the 60s lol what's next? having ice agents show up at ur doorstep w/ a "deportation" card 📨👮‍♂️ its like they think we're all some kind of rookies who don't know the drill already 🙄 anyway gotta keep an eye on this and see if there's any more info comes out about what really went down in that raid 👀

I'm so sick of this 🤯 platform anyway... but seriously, can't ICE just leave a boring old warning card without all the extra symbolism? A customized playing card with some creepy design and the phrase "ICE Denver Field Office" is NOT necessary. It's like they're trying to freak out an entire community. And what's up with these death cards from the Vietnam War era? Who thought it was a good idea to use that imagery in immigration raids? 🤔 It's just so... uncivilized. We need more transparency and accountability, not creepy warnings designed to instill fear.
