Substitute Teacher Removed from Fort Bend ISD Job After Alleged Assault on Teenager

A substitute teacher at Almeta Crawford High School in Texas has been dropped from their job after a disturbing video surfaced showing them physically assaulting a 14-year-old student.

According to the footage, the teacher picked up the boy and slammed him into a countertop as other students attempted to intervene. The altercation reportedly occurred when the teenager tried to retrieve his backpack from the teacher.

School officials responded swiftly, with Principal Dr. Amber Grady stating that staff immediately intervened to de-escalate the situation and ensure everyone's safety. However, an investigation by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office is currently underway, with no word on potential charges against the substitute teacher.

The school district has made it clear that the individual will not be returning to work at any of its schools. The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment of students in the Fort Bend ISD system and the measures in place to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The video is disturbing, I'll give 'em that... but come on, the kid was tryin' to grab his backpack back from some dude who picked him up like he was a sack of potatoes 🤪. And what's with the other kids just standin' around? Shouldn't they be helpin' the kid out instead of gettin' caught up in all that drama 💁‍♀️.
