Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ Makes Monster Debut On Netflix Chart

Guillermo del Toro's 'Frankenstein' Monster Roars to Life On Netflix Charts, Leaving Trail of Breadcrumbs for Awards Season.

The masterful filmmaker behind the iconic creature has landed a massive debut on Netflix's Top 10 Global Movies chart with viewership numbers that left fans and critics alike in awe. The Mexican-born director, known for his atmospheric storytelling and meticulous attention to detail, brought Mary Shelley's classic novel to life in a visually stunning and haunting adaptation of 'Frankenstein'.

With the film streaming exclusively on Netflix since November 2nd, the creature from del Toro's 'Frankenstein' has amassed an impressive 29.1 million views, equivalent to a staggering 73.6 million hours watched – numbers that solidify its No. 1 spot in the Top 10 Global Movies chart.

The star-studded cast brings depth and nuance to del Toro's vision, with Oscar Isaac delivering a captivating performance as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, while Jacob Elordi shines as his reanimated creation. Mia Goth impresses in dual roles, playing both Elizabeth Harlander and her aunt Claire Frankenstein, whose story is woven intricately into the narrative.

In an interesting twist, del Toro cited Bernie Wrightson's 1970s illustrations for Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' as a key visual inspiration for his film, which includes a tribute to the late comic book artist. A nod to Wrightson's contributions was acknowledged through a licensing agreement with his widow and credited in the film.

As the Netflix chart-topper continues to enthrall audiences worldwide, del Toro's masterful adaptation of 'Frankenstein' solidifies its place as one of the most highly anticipated releases of Awards Season.

I think it's pretty weird that everyone's going crazy over this movie just because it's on Netflix and has a ton of views 🤔. I mean, don't get me wrong, del Toro is an amazing director and all, but 29.1 million views doesn't necessarily make it a masterpiece, you know? It's like the internet just fell in love with the monster and not the actual story or message 🐺. And what's up with the whole "masterful adaptation" thing? Is that even a real word? I mean, yeah, the cast is great and all, but I don't think it's that deep, you feel me? 😐

idk why people are so salty about netflix making movies anymore 🤷‍♂️ it's just a platform for creators to share their work with the world... del toro is a genius and this adaptation of frankenstein is straight fire 🔥 got my own opinion, imo, it's 'frankenstein' not 'the monster' lol 🙄 they're like two different things.

I'm telling ya, this Guillermo del Toro flick is giving me all the feels! 🤩 I mean, I've seen some good monster movies in my day, but this one's something special. The way it brings Mary Shelley's classic to life is just masterful. And that Netflix debut? Unbelievable! 29.1 million views? That's crazy talk! 😲 I'm not surprised, though - del Toro always knows how to craft a story that'll leave you on the edge of your seat.

And the cast? Top-notch! Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein? Perfect casting, if you ask me. And Jacob Elordi as the monster? He's got some serious acting chops. 🤴🏻 I loved the way they balanced action and drama - it was like a wild rollercoaster ride of emotions!

You know what's even cooler? The nod to Bernie Wrightson! 😊 That's some old-school comic book magic right there. I'm loving this adaptation, and I think del Toro's going to make Awards Season buzz with this one. Bring on the Oscars! 🎉

omg i just watched frankenstein on netflix and i'm literally blown away 🤯 the creature is so realistic it gave me chills ! i was a bit skeptical at first but guillermo del toro really outdid himself with this one . i love how he wove in those bernie wrightson illustrations, so cool to see that nod 😎 i've been meaning to ask, does anyone think it's weird that netflix just dropped this huge movie without a trailer or anything ? like, what was going through their minds when they decided to release it like this ? 🤔

OMG you guys, I'm not surprised it's climbing the charts - I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned monster mash 🧟‍♂️? But seriously, del Toro's vision is just masterful (and by that I mean he basically recreated the entire movie in his dreams and somehow made it happen) 💡. That Oscar Isaac performance though... *swoon* He's like the heartthrob of the monster-making world 😎. And can we talk about Mia Goth for a sec? Dual roles, slaying it - I'm not even mad she's better than me at playing both Elizabeth and Claire 👑💁‍♀️
