In “Eruption,” Lindsay Jarvis and Max Werner Make a Case for Collaboration

Lindsay Jarvis and Max Werner, a dynamic duo in the contemporary art world, have made a compelling case for collaboration in their recent exhibition "Eruption." This multigenerational show brings together some of the most exciting artists working today with established figures from the 1980s neo-expressionist movement.

The partnership between Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión is a prime example of this collaborative spirit. The two galleries share resources, costs, and audiences, creating a more vibrant and engaged community around their programs. This approach not only allows for greater visibility but also provides context and depth to the art on display.

Werner, who has organized several exhibitions in the past, sees this model as a return to an earlier era of art dealing, where dealers collaborated with colleagues rather than competing against each other. He believes that this approach is essential for creating a more sustainable and inclusive art market.

The exhibition itself showcases a diverse range of artists, including Georg Baselitz, Ellen Berkenblit, Francesco Clemente, and Sylvia Snowden, among others. The works on display are characterized by their emotional intensity and raw physicality, reflecting the turmoil and social unrest of our times.

Jarvis notes that this show is an attempt to revitalize interest in Expressionism, a movement that has historically been overlooked or misunderstood. By combining generations and showcasing both established and emerging artists, Jarvis aims to create a dialogue between different artistic perspectives and cultural contexts.

The success of "Eruption" lies in its ability to bring together disparate voices and foster a sense of community among art lovers. As Werner points out, sharing everything – costs, risks, and revenues – equally is key to this collaborative approach. By valuing diverse opinions and perspectives, Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión are creating a new model for art dealing that prioritizes collaboration over competition.

While "Eruption" may be a one-shot exhibition, its impact will be felt for years to come. As Werner notes, the next project is already underway – a solo show of Archie Rand, who also appears in the current exhibition. This partnership is just the beginning, and it will be exciting to see what other collaborations Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión have in store for us.

I'm so over these super collaborative exhibitions 🤦‍♀️. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing diverse perspectives on art, but can't we just focus on one artist's journey instead of trying to mash up everyone and everything? I mean, I went to this "Eruption" show and it was like they were trying to cram 10 different artists into one room 🚽. It was overwhelming. And don't even get me started on the price tags - I'm pretty sure I saw someone paying over $1 million for a piece that looked like something my little cousin could've made with some markers 🤷‍♂️.

And what's up with these new art galleries trying to be all "collaborative" and "inclusive"? It just feels like they're trying to appeal to everyone and end up pleasing no one. Can't we just have a space where artists can experiment and push boundaries without having to justify it to the masses? 🤔

idk man... I think this collab thingy is awesome 🤯 but like at the same time, how can they really share everything equally? that's just gonna lead to some artist getting taken advantage of 🤑. on the other hand, seeing these old-school neo-expressionists mashed up with newbloods could be pretty lit 🔥 but what if it's just a bunch of people trying to cash in on the nostalgia wave? 🤷‍♂️

🤔 just saw this show "Eruption" and I'm loving how they're bringing together artists from different generations to create something new... it's like a breath of fresh air 🌿💨 the way Jarvis Art & Instituto de Visión are collaborating is so inspiring, it feels like they're making art dealing less about competition and more about community 🤝

I'm lovin' this collab effort between Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión 🤩! It's so refreshing to see these two galleries putting aside competition and working together to bring the community some amazing art 🎨. I mean, who wouldn't want more of that Expressionism energy? The way they're valuing diverse opinions and perspectives is all about creating a sense of unity among art lovers 🌈. We could use more of that in our world right now...

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, this whole collaboration thing between art galleries is super cool 💡! It’s like they’re not competing against each other anymore, they're working together as a team 👫. And it makes sense, why waste resources and time trying to outdo each other when you can all just work towards the same goal? 🤔 The result is actually pretty amazing, like this "Eruption" show - who would have thought that Expressionism was due for a revival? 😂 I mean, I'm not an expert or anything but it seems like Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión are onto something here. It's all about sharing the load and valuing diverse opinions 🤝. Can't wait to see what other cool collaborations they come up with!

I'm so stoked about this collab between Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión! 🤩💥 They're bringing together artists from diff erent gen's and styles, creating a vibe that's all about community and collaboration 💕🌎. I love how they're reviving interest in Expressionism and makin' it accessible to new audiences 🎨💬. It's not just about the art itself, but about creatin' a dialogue between different perspectives and cultural contexts 🗣️🌈. The fact that they're sharin' costs and risks equally is key to this collab approach 💸👫.

It's like, we don't have to be rivals in the art world; we can support each other and lift each other up 🤝💪. Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión are breakin' down barriers and creatin' a new model for art dealin' that prioritizes collab over competition 💥👏. Can't wait to see what's next! 🔜

I gotta say, this art collab thing is like, totally on point! 🤯 I mean, who wouldn't want a party with a bunch of talented artists from different eras? It's like a big ol' art fest 🎉, and I'm here for it! But seriously, it's cool to see Jarvis Art and Instituto de Visión working together, sharing the love (and the costs) 💸. It's like they're saying, "Hey, let's work together and make some magic happen!" ✨ And I'm all about that collaboration life 🤝. Maybe this is the start of a beautiful art revolution? 🌈 Only time will tell, but for now, I'm just gonna sit back, enjoy the art, and soak up the vibes 😎.

I love how Werner sees this as a return to the old school art dealing days, where dealers actually worked together instead of competing against each other 💪. And can we talk about the exhibition itself?! 🤯 It's like they're talking straight to our souls with all that emotional intensity & raw physicality 😩. Man, I'm loving this whole "collaboration" vibe right now 🤝... like, imagine if more galleries took a page out of Jarvis Art's book? It'd be amazing to see these newer artists rubbing shoulders with the legends of Expressionism - it's like a dream come true for art lovers like me 😍. But at the same time, I gotta call out the economic side of things... sharing costs and revenues equally sounds like a total pipe dream 🤑... how are they gonna make it work in the long run? Still, can't deny the energy of this show - it's infectious 💥... now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go prep for my next video review 😅.
