omg what a letdown i mean mamdani was running on a platform of universal child care and now he's kinda backing off on the whole mayoral control thing its like he wants it both ways, you know? and dont even get me started on de blasio's defense of mayoral control lol like what has changed since then? didnt he used to say the same stuff? anyway i think mamdani needs to commit fully to one or the other if he wants free universal child care to happen, otherwise its just gonna be another half baked policy
Mamdani's about-face has me kinda thinking... like, what if he's actually trying to make education more accessible for the masses? I mean, universal child care is a big deal, and if he can find a way to make it work without sacrificing community input, that's a win in my book. But at the same time, I'm also reading between the lines... has he been pressured by some big players to conform to this mayoral control model? It feels like there's more to the story than what's being let on. Either way, I'm excited to see how it all plays out!
this whole thing feels fishy to me... mamdani was running for office and suddenly he's all about mayoral control? what changed his mind so fast? i mean, bill de blasio is already jumping on the bandwagon, defending it like it's the best thing since sliced bread... but what if this is just a ploy to keep things in check? maybe mamdani never actually planned on making real changes... or maybe he was playing us all along . either way, i'm keeping a close eye on this one
I'm kinda confused about this whole thing with Zohran Mamdani and mayoral control . So he used to think it was bad for education but now he's all for it? It seems like he's trying to find a balance between being in charge and listening to others, but I'm not sure if that'll work out .
I do know that free universal child care is a big deal for NYC families . If Mamdani can make that happen, it'd be awesome . But I also get why some people are skeptical about mayoral control - it does seem like the mayor gets to make all the decisions without much input from others .
I think what's interesting is how this plays out over time . Will Mamdani find a way to make mayoral control work for everyone, or will it just create more problems? Only time (and a lot of effort) will tell .
I'm not sure about this whole mayoral control thing ... I mean, one day it's like Mamdani is all for it and the next he's trying to make changes . Some people are saying it could help with free universal child care which is defo a good thing . But others are worried that it'll just be another way of making decisions without involving students, parents, or educators . It's like, what's the end goal here?
