Josh Cavallo claims homophobia drove him out of Adelaide United

man this is so messed up 🤯 i dont think adelaide united can just brush off josh cavallo's claims like thats it cant be true that they were so homophobic behind the scenes i mean weve seen what happened at melbourne victory in 2022 and now adelaide is saying im fine everything was cool 😒 but trust me its not just about being a football club its about having a community that accepts all ppl regardless of who they are or who they love Cavallo coming out as gay in 2021 showed us he had the courage to be himself and now hes saying they made him feel like an outcast 🤕 its time for them to come clean about what really happened

I gotta say, this is super disappointing 🤕. I mean, you'd think that Adelaide United would be one of those clubs that's all about supporting the LGBTQ+ community, but apparently that's not the case. Josh Cavallo came out as gay in 2021 and still had to deal with homophobia from his own teammates... it just breaks my heart 💔.

And I can imagine how tough it must've been for him to feel like he was being ignored on the field too 🤷‍♂️. It's one thing to have homophobic abuse from fans, but to experience it from your own team? That's just unacceptable. We need more transparency and accountability in our sports clubs, and we need to make sure that everyone feels welcome and supported, regardless of their identity 🌈.

I'm glad Josh is speaking out about this, though... it takes a lot of courage to share something like that, especially when you know it might affect your career 😊. Hopefully his decision to leave Australia for England will help him find a fresh start and fall in love with football again ❤️. We should all be supporting him on this 🙌.
