Karen Whitsett does not represent her voters - Detroit Metro Times

🤔 I'm both impressed and concerned about Karen Whitsett's candidacy for Detroit City Council. On one hand, it's great that she's throwing her hat into the ring and giving voters a choice 🗳️. But on the other hand, her lack of engagement with policy-making is super alarming 💡. As a city struggling with economic recovery, affordable housing, and public safety, we need someone who can actually make a difference 🚀.

Whitsett's record speaks for itself – 77% absenteeism from session days? That's a red flag ⛔️. And her voting record on issues like minimum wage, paid sick leave, and reproductive rights is concerning 😕. It seems like she's more interested in serving herself than the people of District 7 🤷‍♀️.

I'm not saying Whitsett can't change or grow, but right now, it seems like she's not the leader we need for this city 🌆. We deserve someone who will actively work to improve our lives, make tough decisions, and prioritize the needs of their constituents 🙏.

omg i feel so frustrated about this 🤯 i mean cant we just get leaders who actually care about us you know like whitsett seems so caught up in her own thing and neglecting her duties as a councillor its not cool at all especially when youre from detroit where people are struggling to make ends meet she should be focusing on issues like affordable housing and public safety but instead shes more worried about what doesnt really matter anymore 🙄 im definitely voting against her now and hoping whoever wins will actually listen to the ppl
