'Kids can't buy them anywhere': how Pokémon cards became a stock market for millennials

I mean, come on... the state of this Pokémon trading card market is crazy 🤯! It's not about being a kid again collecting cards and having fun; it's all about making that cash 💸. And it's gotten so ridiculous that shop owners are even getting threatened by customers who can't get their hands on rare cards 😬.

These influencers on YouTube and TikTok, they're the ones fueling this madness 📹. They're making a fortune off people wanting to buy those cards, but not actually playing the game for fun. It's like, what's the point of it all? Collecting Pokémon just to resell them?

And don't even get me started on the fake cards and card-grading industry 🤥. I mean, who needs that kind of drama in their life? The fact that people are willing to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a single card is just wild 💸.

I hope the Pokémon Company can keep up with demand without sacrificing reasonable prices for their customers. Maybe this market correction will be good for everyone involved 🤞.

I feel so bad for kids who just wanna collect and play Pokémon cards without breaking the bank 😔. It's crazy how it's become a whole speculative thing with adults trying to make a quick buck off rare cards 🤑. I mean, what happened to just enjoying the game and trading with friends? The fact that you have to queue up for hours or wait in an online raffle just to get your hands on some cards is ridiculous 🤯. And the fake card sellers? Total scam artists 🚫. It's like the market has lost sight of what Pokémon is all about: fun and friendship 👫.

I think it's awesome that some shop owners are starting to stand up for their customers and prioritize reasonable prices over making a profit 💸. The Pokémon Company is also doing their part by printing more cards, so fingers crossed that things will level out soon 🤞. In the meantime, I hope the kids can still find some joy in collecting and playing without breaking the bank 😊.

🤯 I mean, come on! The Pokémon trading card market has gone straight outta control 💸😱. It's like adults have lost all sense of fun and just want to make a quick buck. They're so focused on buying up rare cards that they can't even enjoy the game anymore 🤷‍♂️. And what's with these influencers on YouTube and TikTok making it all about the money? Can't they just share their love for Pokémon like normal people? 🙄 I'm glad some shop owners are starting to stand up for their customers and not prioritize profits over prices, but it'll take a while for this market to calm down 😊.

🤯 The Pokémon trading card market is wild 🎉. I mean, who needs a childhood staple that's supposed to be fun when you can buy and sell cards for thousands of dollars? It's crazy how adults are outbidding kids just to make a quick buck. And the influencers on YouTube and TikTok are fueling this fire by making it all about getting that one rare card 🤑. Some shops owners are even being threatened with violence because they're not meeting demand, which is just insane 😱. I'm glad some shop owners like Ben Thyer are starting to prioritize reasonable prices over profit though 💸. Maybe the market will calm down soon and we can get back to collecting cards for fun 🎮.

OMG u guyz 🤯! The Pokémon card market has gone CRAZY 💸🎉! Like, seriously what's going on? People are willing to pay INSANE prices just to resell them online 🤑! And it's not just the rare cards, even the regular ones are getting hella expensive 😅. I mean, I'm all for making some cash, but this is gettin' outta hand 🚫.

And can we talk about the "investors" who are buyin' up all these cards? Like, you're not gonna get rich just 'cause you own a bunch of Pokémon cards 💸! It's like they think they're investin' in some kinda future tech stock 🤖. Newsflash: it's just a game, dude! 😂

I love that the shop owners are startin' to speak out against this and prioritize their customers over profit 🙌! Maybe we can get back to a time when collectin' Pokémon cards was fun for EVERYONE, not just the ones who wanna flip 'em for cash 💖.

ugh this is wild i was trying to buy some pokemon cards last month and it took me hours just to get into that stupid raffle on amazon 😂 the prices are insane and its all because of those youtubers and tiktok influencers who make a living off hyping up cards 🤑 my nephew is super excited about collecting them but now i'm worried he'll get taken advantage of by some scalper 🤯 at least shop owners like ben thyer are starting to stand up for themselves 💪 gotta hope the market stabilizes soon and prices come back down to earth 👍
