LG says its CLOiD home robot will be folding laundry and making breakfast at CES

LG Unveils Ambitious Robot for 'Zero Labor Home'

In a bid to revolutionize home living, LG has unveiled its latest innovation – CLOiD, a robot designed to make life easier by performing various household tasks. The company claims that CLOiD can transform the concept of a "zero labor home," where technology handles all the mundane chores, leaving humans free from drudgery.

The CLOiD robot boasts an impressive array of features. Its two fully articulated arms with seven degrees of motion are mounted on a torso that can tilt and bend, giving it the flexibility to move around freely in the home. The robot's head is similar to LG's Q9 model, minus the handle, allowing it to communicate through spoken language and facial expressions.

One of the most notable features of CLOiD is its ability to integrate with smart home appliances. This seamless integration enables the robot to work as a hub for various devices, making it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their homes.

However, there are concerns about the practicality and affordability of such technology. As LG hopes that people will be eager to adopt a mechanical butler/maid/chef/personal trainer, others might question whether this robot is worth the investment.

The CLOiD robot's capabilities include fetching milk from the fridge, putting croissants in the oven, and even folding laundry. While it may not be the first or only laundry-folding robot on the market, LG's version appears to be particularly impressive, especially considering its advanced features.

As CES attendees get a glimpse of CLOiD, it remains to be seen whether this technology will become a reality in homes worldwide. One thing is certain – LG has set the bar high for home robots, and it will be interesting to see how other companies respond to its innovation.

omg i love the idea of having a robot that can do all the household chores 🤖💪 it's like something out of a sci-fi movie! but at the same time, i get why people would be hesitant about shelling out $$$ for this kinda tech...it's gotta be super practical and affordable for it to become mainstream. anyway, i'm hyped to see how this will play out in the future 🤔💥 maybe one day we'll have our very own personal robot butlers 👋🏼

The idea of having a robot like CLOiD that can do all our household chores sounds amazing 🤖💼, but I'm not sure if we're ready for such technology just yet. I mean, think about it, we're still trying to figure out how to make smart homes affordable and accessible to everyone, let alone add a robot to the mix 💸.

And what about all the jobs that CLOiD might automate? Will people just be sitting around doing nothing? 🤔 It's a scary thought. I'm not saying we should resist this technology or anything, but maybe we need to think more critically about how it's going to change our lives and society as a whole 🤝.

I do love the idea of having a robot that can fold laundry, though 😂, who wouldn't want that?! But seriously, I'm excited to see where this tech takes us. It'll be interesting to see if LG can make CLOiD affordable for the masses and if other companies will follow suit 💥

Ugh, I need a layout overhaul just thinking about this 🤯... think CLOiD's gonna take up way too much space in my living room, not to mention the clutter it'll cause with all that gadgetry 📦. And don't even get me started on the cost – gotta be upwards of $10k+ for a robot that can do the bare essentials? Not worth it, if you ask me 💸. But, I guess if you're one of those Type-A personalities who needs everything perfectly organized and executed 24/7, CLOiD might just be the ticket 🤝.

ugh, another robot trying to take our jobs 🤖... like, i get that we want to make life easier, but can't we just, like, relax already? 😒 the idea of having a robot do all the household chores sounds nice in theory, but what about when it breaks down or needs maintenance? aren't we just trading one problem for another 🤔... and $10k for a laundry-folding robot is just crazy 💸

idk why ppl r still skeptical about robot tech... cloid seems like it's got some serious potential. just think about it - no more scrubbing toilets or ironing clothes all day. you can chill while cloid handles the chores and makes your life easier 🤖💡. also, its integration with smart home appliances is a huge plus. i mean, who wouldn't want their robot to control the lights and thermostat for them? but yeah, affordability is gonna be the big question mark. hope it doesn't end up being one of those super expensive gadgets that nobody can afford 🤑💸

omg i'm literally so hyped about this!!! 🤩 a robot that can do all the household chores? sounds like sci-fi but lg really making it happen 🚀 cloid is gonna change the game for people with busy schedules or disabilities, no more scrubbing toilets or ironing 👍 and at the same time, i get why some ppl might be skeptical about affordability... we gotta see how it plays out in the market 💸 but overall, lg killing the game with this innovation 🎯

omg u guys, i cant believe lg is finally makin a robot that can do all the household stuff 🤖💪 like, imagine not havin to lift a finger ever again! but at the same time, 500 dollars for this thing? 🤑 thats way outta budget for most ppl. and what about the safety concerns? i mean, u cant just leave a robot alone with ur kids, rite? 😬 still, its def an interestin innovation, maybe lg can make it affordable for regular people.
