Man City fight back to win 2-1 at Liverpool and keep title hopes alive

Manchester City made a late surge to snatch a thrilling 2-1 victory at Liverpool, keeping their Premier League title hopes alive amidst chaotic proceedings at Anfield.

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland scored a penalty in the 93rd minute after Manchester City substitute Rayan Cherki had given them a two-goal lead with an incredible strike from the halfway line. However, the goal was ruled out by VAR due to an offside incident involving Hungary's Dominik Szoboszlai, who had initially scored Liverpool's opener.

In the first half, Haaland had a golden opportunity to put City ahead after a lightning-fast break, but his shot lacked conviction under pressure from Milos Kerkez. Manchester City, who trail leaders Arsenal by six points, needed a win to keep their title hopes alive and they made it happen in spectacular fashion.

Manchester City's win was a response to Liverpool's stunning long-range free kick in the 74th minute that gave them an opening goal. However, Haaland sent the away fans wild when he fired into the bottom corner from the spot after Alisson Becker brought down Matheus Nunes in the box.

The victory marked a resurgence for City who had struggled with consistency throughout their title push so far. Silva equalised 10 minutes later, but the Norwegian's goal kept his team ahead and secured them crucial three points.

This win not only showcased the skills of Haaland, Silva, Cherki, and other Manchester City players, but also proved that the team has what it takes to overcome adversity and bounce back from setbacks.
