Match Of The Day analysis: How electric Jeremy Doku helped Manchester City dismantle Liverpool

Manchester City's 3-0 thrashing of Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium was dominated by a young Belgian winger, Jeremy Doku. The electric pace and skill displayed by the 20-year-old proved to be too much for Jürgen Klopp's side, with City's dominance on the pitch making it an easy win for Pep Guardiola's team.

Doku, who signed for Manchester City in January, had a game to remember at his new home. His lightning-quick feet and razor-sharp instincts allowed him to beat Liverpool defenders time and again, creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. The young winger's vision and passing range were also on full display, as he picked out pockets of space in the Liverpool defense.

According to Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy, Doku had "the best game he's ever had in a Manchester City shirt." The Belgian's performance was all the more impressive given his relative inexperience at this level. Despite being just 20 years old, Doku showed a maturity and composure on the pitch that belied his age.

Manchester City's win over Liverpool was also notable for the extent to which it highlighted the difference between two very different teams. While Liverpool struggled to cope with City's pace and movement, Manchester United fans will be relieved to see their own team concede so many goals at home. For City, though, Doku's display is a major plus, as he provides Pep Guardiola with another option for his attack.

Guardiola has built a reputation on developing young talent, and Doku's latest performance only adds to the evidence of that claim. With his pace, skill, and vision, this young Belgian could be an important player in City's quest for domestic and European success.

So Manchester City just smashed Liverpool 3-0? I mean, who surprised anyone with that score? Pep Guardiola's team has been dominating the Premier League all season, it was only a matter of time before they took down their arch-rivals. 🤷‍♂️

And yeah, Jeremy Doku is definitely the star of this game. His pace and skill are insane! But I'm not surprised by his performance – Pep's had years to work with him, after all. Still, 20 years old and already a major player for City? That's no coincidence, he's been developed from day one 🎯.

I love how the article is saying that this win highlights the difference between two teams, though? I mean, City's just built for speed and movement – they're like a well-oiled machine. Liverpool, on the other hand... 😐 not gonna lie, their defense looked pretty shaky out there.

As for Doku being a plus for City, I'm not convinced it's that big of a deal. I mean, he's still just a young player in an experienced squad – we've seen that happen before and it doesn't always work out 🤔. Still, I guess only time will tell if he can really make a difference for the team.

🤔 I was kinda surprised by how much that young Belgian winger Jeremy Doku stole the show against Liverpool. He seems like a game-changer for Manchester City! Like, who is he? 😂 Didn't even know he played for them till now... but Pep Guardiola must've seen something special in him because he's already making waves... 20 and already doing all that! 🤯 One thing for sure, Liverpool shoulda brought their A-game if they wanna compete with City anymore.

I'm low-key impressed by Jürgen Klopp's team selection on Sat 🤔...I mean, 3-0 at home is just embarrassing for Liverpool 😅. I know Pep's a genius but come on, you can't be that bad! 😉 On the other hand, Jeremy Doku looks like the real deal 🔥...20 yrs old and already dominating the Prem? That's just crazy 🤯 Can't wait to see how he develops further 👀

I'm telling ya, Pep Guardiola is a genius when it comes to spotting talent! 🤯 Doku is definitely one to watch out for, but let's not forget that he was playing against a Liverpool team that was already struggling at the start of the season. I mean, they got thrashed 3-0 - that's not just on Doku alone! 😂 Still, it's clear that City have made some smart signings and are building a strong squad for the future.

I also think people need to give credit to Jürgen Klopp - he's still a top manager, even if Liverpool didn't put up much of a fight. 😉 And can we talk about how good Manchester United is doing without Doku in their lineup? 🤔 I mean, no way they'd be able to keep up with City's pace like that!

Anyway, back to Doku - yeah, he was amazing, but let's not forget he's 20 years old and still got a lot to learn. Pep needs to make sure he keeps him happy and developing his skills, or else we'll see a drop in form! 😬

I think Pep Guardiola is just a genius when it comes to scouting and developing young talent! I mean, Jeremy Doku was literally barely out of his teens and he's already making such a huge impact for the team. It's like he's got the Midas touch or something 🤩. And you're right, Manchester United fans should be worried about their own defense right now... it looks like City are just too strong! I'm loving the way Doku seems to have this 'sixth sense' on the pitch when it comes to beating defenders and creating scoring chances. He's definitely one of those players that'll make you feel like 'wow, how did he do that?' 😮

🤔 I'm totally down with Jürgen Klopp giving Pep Guardiola a hard time about his tactics on the day 🙄. Like, if Liverpool can't handle a 3-0 thrashing at home, that's not City's problem 😂. And btw, Jeremy Doku might be young and all, but he still looked way more experienced than some of the Liverpool defenders out there 👀. Maybe it's time for Klopp to give his own squad some credit instead of making excuses 🤷‍♂️. Oh, and one more thing - Manchester United fans shouldn't be relieved that their team conceded so many goals at home, that's just not on 😒.
