Philadelphia Flyers fall to Edmonton Oilers in overtime, 2-1.
The Philadelphia Flyers' hopes of securing a win against the struggling Edmonton Oilers were dashed when Jack Roslovic scored the winner in overtime. The game went into extra time after Travis Konecny's attempt at a tip-in goal was ruled out due to Owen Tippett entering the zone too early.
Matvei Michkov, who has been on a personal scoring tear, gave the Flyers a 1-1 tie with his power-play goal in the second period. However, Edmonton's Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard were unable to capitalize on the team's numerous chances throughout the game.
The Oilers' offense came out strong, but the Flyers were able to keep them at bay for much of the first period. However, as the game wore on, the Oilers began to dominate, taking 13 shots in a 3-1 advantage by the end of the period.
In the second period, the Flyers struggled to generate scoring chances, and the Oilers continued their attack. It wasn't until Michkov's power-play goal that the Flyers finally broke through. However, they were unable to capitalize on a late power play, which saw Dan Vladar stop 29 of 30 shots in regulation.
The game was marked by several physical altercations, including a scrum after Trent Frederic's attempt at a chip pass went awry. Mattias Janmark and Noah Juusle were both ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct and goaltender interference, respectively.
Despite the loss, the Flyers are still riding high on their 8-5-3 record and have Michkov finding his form once again.

. Seriously though, Travis Konecny's goal attempt was like trying to sneak into the zone while wearing oversized clown shoes – it didn't exactly work out 
️. And 29 saves by Dan Vladar? That's like a goalie superhero cape – only better 
! Guess the Flyers are still flying high despite this one 
, and we can all just hope for a rebound against those Oilers next time

They were so close to taking down the Oilers, but that OT winner by Jack Roslovic was just heartbreaking. I mean, Matvei Michkov's power-play goal in the second period was like, the game-changer, you know? 
And Dan Vladar's stats are insane - 29 saves on 30 shots is crazy! 
But, I guess all that effort wasn't enough to seal the deal. The Flyers are still looking strong though, so fingers crossed they bounce back from this loss! 
I was so hyped for the flyers to take down edmonton, but that overtime heartbreak is just too much 
. can you believe matvei michkov only scored 1 goal and it wasnt even enough?!? 
it just doesn't make sense. edmonton's connor mc david is just so frustrating to watch sometimes 
. anyway, 8-5-3 record and all that but man, i need a flyer win stat 
, I was so stoked that the Flyers were gonna get a W against those Oilers 
! It's like they just can't catch a break in overtime... Travis Konecny's tip-in attempt looked legit too 
. And what's up with the refs? One minute you're good, next minute you're bad 
. I'm still super proud of Michkov though 
. But man, those Oilers just can't seem to get it together

edmonton's defense has been all over the place this season but they finally got it together 
and what a goal by roslovic, so cool how he snuck it past dan vladar 
️ and it's awesome to see him find his rhythm again 
and yeah, dan Vladar is no joke, 29 saves in regulation? that's impressive 
they've got some tough games coming up but i think they can keep it going 
they gotta learn to control themselves on the ice or they'll never take it to the next level. all those penalties are gonna catch up to them eventually... and matvei michkov is having a great game, but 1 goal just isn't enough 
the flyers need more from their powerplay unit. dan vladar's been doing his thing in net, but come on guys, let's get some more wins under our belt 
but at the same time, you feel for travis konecny, he had that tip-in goal all set up, only to have owen tippett make a mistake entering the zone too early 
... I was rooting for those Flyers to pull off a win! Guess you can't win 'em all, though
