Minneapolis couple says ICE released tear gas under their family vehicle with 6 children inside

Tear Gas Under Family Vehicle Leaves Six Children Traumatized in Minneapolis

A harrowing incident occurred in Minneapolis where an ICE agent released a tear gas canister under a family vehicle carrying six children, leaving the young ones shaken and traumatized. The couple, Shawn and Destiny Jackson, were driving home from basketball practice when they were caught between protesters and ICE agents.

According to Destiny Jackson, the situation escalated quickly as ICE agents yelled profanity at them, prompting her husband to scream for help. Despite their attempts to stay calm, the atmosphere became increasingly tense, and the agents continued to demand their presence. That's when one of the agents released a tear gas canister under their vehicle, causing it to lift off the ground.

"I managed to feel around and open up everybody's doors," Jackson recalled. "I hopped out and started pulling as many kids as I could out." Bystanders stepped in to help, and total strangers began assisting the family in getting their children to safety.

The scene was chaotic, with smoke-filled air and the sound of panic. Jackson said she found her infant child unresponsive, foaming at the mouth, when he emerged from the vehicle. Desperate, she administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

The couple, who have been together since high school, now face an uncertain future. Their lives will forever be changed by this incident, which has left them shaken. The children are reportedly traumatized and struggling to sleep, but fortunately, they are physically unharmed.

A fund has been set up to support the family with medical bills and to replace their vehicle, which was damaged in the explosion. As for the ICE agents involved, no comment from the Department of Homeland Security has been forthcoming. The incident raises concerns about law enforcement tactics and the safety of civilians caught in the crossfire between protesters and authorities.

In a disturbing turn of events, the tear gas canister's release left a family of six facing a traumatic ordeal that will have lasting effects on their lives.

OMG what a perfect example of how NOT to handle a situation 🙄... like who comes up with this stuff? Tear gas under a car with kids inside? It's like they want the family to be traumatized for life 💔... and don't even get me started on the yelling profanity, that's just basic human decency 🚫. I mean, can't we all just calm down and try to find a peaceful solution? It's not that hard, folks 🙄... and btw, what's with the lack of comment from DHS? like, are they just gonna sweep this under the rug? 😒

🚨 this is absolutely heartbreaking what happened to the Jackson fam 🤕 their kids are so lucky to be alive 😌 and it's just not right that they had to go through this trauma in the first place... I'm all for protest rights, but there gotta be better ways to handle the situation than putting innocent people in harm's way 💔 can't we just find a way to resolve conflicts without resorting to chemical warfare? 🤯

🤕 this is so messed up, ICE agents shouldnt be treating innocent people like this, especially with kids around 👶😱 and what r they even protesting for? can we just talk about dehumanizing the family instead of the cause? 😔

I just heard this news and its making me so angry 😡... I mean, what kind of person does that to innocent kids? My heart goes out to Shawn & Destiny Jackson, they did nothing wrong but they got caught in the middle of something crazy. Six little kids are traumatized because of some ICE agent's mistake 🤯. It's just not right. We need better training for these agents and more consideration for civilians. What if one of those kids had a pre-existing condition or was already stressed out? The thought of it is just too much 😩. And what about the law enforcement policies that led to this situation in the first place? We need real change, not just empty promises 🤷‍♂️.

oh man... this is just heartbreaking 😩... i mean can u even imagine having your life turned upside down like this? 🤯 a family with 6 kids and they're the ones who get caught in the middle of all this chaos... i feel so bad for them 🤕... and it's not just the physical harm that's gonna take a toll, it's the emotional trauma too... i mean 6 kids can't even sleep right now? 😭 it's just devastating... and what really gets me is that these kids are innocent, they didn't do anything wrong... they were just driving home from basketball practice 🏀... ugh, my heart goes out to them... we need to make sure these families get the help they need 💕
