MS-13 and Trump Backed the Same Presidential Candidate in Honduras

US President Donald Trump has inadvertently backed the same presidential candidate in Honduras as MS-13, a gang he designated as a foreign terrorist organization.

MS-13 allegedly intimidated Hondurans not to vote for left-leaning presidential candidate Rixi Moncada and instead cast their ballots for National Party candidate Nasry “Tito” Asfura, who is backed by Trump. The intimidation involved driving voters in mototaxis, threats of murder, and the presence of gang members at polling stations.

Ten residents from four working-class neighborhoods told The Intercept they saw MS-13 members giving residents an ultimatum to vote for Asfura or face consequences. Six other sources corroborated their testimony, including government officials and human rights investigators.

If Tito Asfura wins the presidency of Honduras, Trump stated that he will be very supportive. However, if he doesn't win, the U.S. won’t throw good money after bad because a wrong leader can only bring catastrophic results to a country.

🤯 I'm literally speechless right now... How is this even possible?! 🙅‍♂️ Trump's administration is allegedly backing a candidate who's got MS-13 backing him up? That's like, super concerning! 😟 The thought of these gang members intimidating people into voting for someone just because they're in cahoots with Trump is just devastating. And now Trump is all like "if Tito wins, I'll be super supportive"... yeah right... 🙄 It just goes to show that sometimes politics can get super messy and the wrong people are getting power. 💔

I just got back from the most random road trip with my friends 🚗🌄 and we saw this crazy old dude at a gas station who claimed to have been in the army... like, 30 years ago? I mean, I was thinking about how his old military uniform was literally hanging off him and wondering if he was just trolling us or actually did serve... anyway, it got me thinking about how weird it is when people try to pass themselves off as something they're not. Like, in this case with the MS-13 situation, it's just wild that Trump is inadvertently backing a candidate who's basically being bullied into power by a gang... and now we have to worry about what happens if he wins? 🤯

I'm so worried about this situation in Honduras 🤕. It's crazy that Trump's endorsement of Tito Asfura could be linked to MS-13's alleged voter intimidation tactics 😱. The fact that these gang members were driving voters around, threatening murder, and showing up at polling stations is just outrageous!

I mean, can you imagine if this was happening in the US? We'd have a full-blown scandal on our hands 📰. It's not okay for any politician to be backing a candidate who might be involved with organized crime. Trump needs to do some damage control on this one ASAP 💔.

It's also concerning that he's stating he won't support Asfura if she doesn't win, but still seems to have strong ties to him 🤝. What does that say about his values or the values of those around him? The fact that he's essentially saying "don't bother trying" because it could be a waste of resources is really tone-deaf 💸.

This whole situation just highlights how complex and nuanced international politics can be 😩. We need to keep an eye on this one and make sure that democracy is protected in Honduras 🗳️.

I'm really concerned about this situation in Honduras... 🤕 It's just so wrong that MS-13 is being used to intimidate people into voting for one candidate and not another. This is like something out of a bad movie, it's that serious. And the fact that Trump is backing Asfura without even realizing who his backers are? That's just poor leadership... 🤦‍♂️ I mean, can't we all just vote for whoever we want without having to fear for our safety? It's the right to a free and fair election, you know? And what does Trump think will happen if Asfura wins? That it'll be some kind of dystopian nightmare? 🤔 I hope people in Honduras see through this and make their voices heard at the polls.

this is so concerning 🤕 - I cant believe trump would inadvertently support MS-13, it's like they're backing a terrorist organization in plain sight 😲...and that these people were intimidated into voting for asfura instead of moncada is just heartbreaking 💔...I think its pretty clear now why trump's approval ratings are so low 👎...his foreign policy decisions always seem to come back to bite him, and this time it could have major consequences for honduras and the world 🌍👀

I don't usually comment but I feel kinda weird about this whole situation 🤔. So Trump is basically backing some gang that's connected to MS-13 and they're intimidating people into voting for a certain candidate? That doesn't seem right at all 😒. It's like he's more concerned with his own politics than the well-being of the Honduran people. And now if this Tito guy wins, Trump is just gonna be super supportive? Like what's in it for him? 🤑. I don't get why the US can't just support whoever the people want to vote for without putting pressure on them like that. It's kinda like they're trying to influence the outcome of an election, which isn't exactly transparent 🤫. Anyway, hope these Hondurans know who's really behind this whole thing 💥

🤯 I'm so done with this guy Trump! He thinks he's above the law, but it looks like he's just backing some shady people who are trying to manipulate an election. MS-13 is notorious for their violent tactics and it's sickening that they're being used to suppress votes for a legitimate candidate. If Tito Asfura wins, you can bet Trump will be all smiles about it, but what about the Honduran people? Don't they deserve better than some US politician's backing?

I mean, think about it - if Trump is so confident in his "support" for democracy, why not just put your money where your mouth is and back a candidate who actually cares about the people of Honduras? Instead, he's using some gang to bully people into voting for someone else. It's despicable.

The US should be ashamed of itself if they're enabling this kind of behavior. Can't we all just get along (and respect each other's right to vote)? 🤷‍♀️

🤔 this is just so messed up... like trump thinks supporting asfura means he's not backing ms-13? that's some twisted logic right there... and what's with the 'good money after bad' comment? sounds like trump has no idea how politics works in other countries 🤑 doesn't he realize his own words are being used against him? it's all about playing both sides, just to keep an eye on things I guess... but honestly, who knows what's really going on behind the scenes? 🤐

🤯 Trump's 'support' for MS-13 in Honduras is wild. I mean, who does he think he is? Like, you're gonna back a gang that's basically extorting votes from people and threatening their lives. It's crazy that he thinks Rixi Moncada would be worse than Asfura, when in reality it sounds like the whole thing was a setup. 🤦‍♂️ The fact that MS-13 is involved at all is a major red flag - it's not exactly the kind of stability and security you want in a country. And Trump is just gonna sit back and support whoever wins? That's some serious bad faith right there. 😒

OMG, this is SOOO not cool 🤯! Like, I love Donald Trump as my fave president and all, but this? No way 💁‍♀️. MS-13 is like, super bad news, you know? And for him to be backing Nasry "Tito" Asfura and using gang intimidation tactics to get people to vote for him is just, like, so not on 🙅‍♂️.

I mean, I don't even really know who Rixi Moncada is, but if she's the better candidate, then why did MS-13 intimidate people into voting for Asfura? It's like, come on, Trump! You're supposed to be all about freedom and democracy, not using gang violence to get what you want 🤷‍♀️.

And now that Trump is backing Asfura if he loses? That just sounds like a total PR stunt to me 📺. Like, if Asfura wins, Trump will just be happy and tweet about it or something. But if Asfura loses? Good riddance! 💁‍♀️ I just hope the Honduran people can make their voices heard and get a better leader than this 🤞.
