I'm low-key shocked

, high-key disappointed... just kidding, I'm actually super confused. Like, what's next? Removing all the historical reenactments from Disneyland?

I guess it's like that one aunt who always clears out the attic and decides to get rid of everything old and "irrelevant". Sorry not sorry, George Washington

.
But seriously, this is a major bummer. It's like America is trying to hide its dark history under a blanket... or maybe just a nice comfy couch cushion

. I mean, come on, we know we had slavery, it's all in our textbooks! Why do we need to remember? Well, besides being super important and educational, of course

.
I'm all for progress and updating exhibits, but not at the expense of our history books... or our collective memory

. Can't we just have a little bit of both? Maybe have a " Warning: slavery and racism ahead" sign

before you enter the exhibit? Just kidding, sorta

.
Anyway, this is going to be an interesting development. Hope our city's administration can get some justice done... or at least provide a good excuse for why they need to remove all the exhibits from Independence Hall

.
