NBC Pulls ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episode Featuring Timothy Busfield Following Child Sex Abuse Charges

NBC has pulled an upcoming episode of its long-running crime drama "Law & Order: SVU" from the air, following Timothy Busfield's arrest on charges of child sex abuse. The episode, titled "Corrosive," which was set to premiere on January 15, had Busfield playing a judge in the story.

The move comes after an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield in New Mexico on charges related to alleged sex abuse involving a minor. According to court documents, one of two twin brothers who worked with Busfield as director on the Fox drama series "The Cleaning Lady" claims that Busfield touched his private areas when he was seven years old and again at age eight.

Warner Bros. Television, which produced "The Cleaning Lady," conducted an internal investigation into the allegations in 2025 following an anonymous tip. The studio issued a statement stating that it takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement.

Busfield has also guest-starred on "Law & Order: SVU" before, appearing in 2011, and directed two episodes in 2019. His arrest comes as the network continues to face scrutiny over its handling of similar incidents in the past.

I was just thinking about my cat, Luna... she's been acting weird lately 🐈. I mean, I love her to bits, but sometimes she just won't stop meowing at 3 am and I'm all like "Luna, it's not time for breakfast yet" 😂. Anyway, back to this drama... it's crazy how someone can be accused of something like that and still get a TV show 🤯. Don't even get me started on the fact that they have a whole episode dedicated to him playing a judge – what were they thinking?! 🙄

omg u guys can u believe what's going on with timothy busfield?? i was literally excited for that ep of svu but now i dont know if i wanna watch it lol like how could he do this to a kid?? 2 min from now i'm gonna go look up more info about the guy who made these allegations and his twin bro btw i feel so bad for the victim

Just saw that NBC is pulling an episode of Law & Order: SVU from the air due to Timothée Busfield's arrest on child sex abuse charges 🤕. It's a huge bummer for fans, especially since he was supposed to play a judge in this particular episode... I mean, can you even imagine? The whole thing is just so messed up 😩. And what's really concerning is that the network is getting scrutiny over its handling of similar incidents in the past 📺. It feels like they should have done more to investigate Busfield's past and take action sooner. Anyway, I'm curious to know how this will all play out... will the episode be re-shot or cancelled altogether? 🤔

🤔 I'm not surprised NBC pulled this episode from the air. I mean, if the allegations are true, it's pretty serious stuff. But isn't an actor being accused of child sex abuse just the tip of the iceberg? Like, what about all the times they've let similar people work on set without a second glance? Or how about the fact that this guy was able to guest star and even direct episodes before this came up? It's like, how many red flags were raised back then? 🙄

I don’t usually comment but... I'm really shocked by this news 🤯. A guy who's been playing a judge on "Law & Order: SVU" for like, years, gets arrested on child sex abuse charges and they pull an entire episode from the air? It just feels so wrong 😔. And what's even more disturbing is that these allegations have been circulating around for years, but somehow nothing was done about it until now 🕰️. I'm not sure if we're seeing a pattern of systemic negligence here or just a really bad case of mistaken identity 🤔. Either way, my heart goes out to the alleged victim and their family 💔. The fact that "The Cleaning Lady" had to do an internal investigation says a lot about the industry's willingness to take these allegations seriously...or lack thereof 😐.
