NBC has pulled an upcoming episode of its long-running crime drama "Law & Order: SVU" from the air, following Timothy Busfield's arrest on charges of child sex abuse. The episode, titled "Corrosive," which was set to premiere on January 15, had Busfield playing a judge in the story.
The move comes after an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield in New Mexico on charges related to alleged sex abuse involving a minor. According to court documents, one of two twin brothers who worked with Busfield as director on the Fox drama series "The Cleaning Lady" claims that Busfield touched his private areas when he was seven years old and again at age eight.
Warner Bros. Television, which produced "The Cleaning Lady," conducted an internal investigation into the allegations in 2025 following an anonymous tip. The studio issued a statement stating that it takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement.
Busfield has also guest-starred on "Law & Order: SVU" before, appearing in 2011, and directed two episodes in 2019. His arrest comes as the network continues to face scrutiny over its handling of similar incidents in the past.
