Netflix buying Warner Bros is bad news for cinema and those of us who love it | Jesse Hassenger

man this is super depressing news 🤕 netflix just bought warner bros and now its just gonna be another streamer pushing their own algorithm-driven content on us like whats wrong with good ol fashioned independent cinema 🎥 i mean who wants to watch some soulless remake of a classic when u can find something new from a small indie film studio? the way theyre trying to sell nostalgia as a marketing tool is just cringeworthy 😂 its all about the Benjamins and controlling our viewing habits. we need to take back control and choose what we watch for ourselves not let these corporations dictate our cinematic experience 👊

can you imagine watching your favorite childhood movie on netflix but not knowing who made it or the story behind it? that's what happens when a giant like netflix buys up every old studio 🤯 they're just sucking up all the classics and original movies to sell them back to us at a premium, like we're just consumers or something 😒

and don't even get me started on those email announcements - "we're bringing together" your childhood memories? what's next, selling out your favorite concert venue to the highest bidder? 🎸 it's all about making a quick buck and not actually caring about art or entertainment.

i think we need to start talking about how we want our culture to be consumed and experienced. do we really want to be told what to watch by some algorithm? shouldn't we be given options and freedom to choose? 💡

man this acquisition is just soooo sad 🤕, i mean netflix buying warner bros is like the end of an era... who's gonna protect the classics? 🎬 the old studios that used to bring us those iconic movies are getting swooped up by big corps and it's just not cool... they're more worried about poaching subscribers from hbo max than preserving cinematic heritage 🤑

and have you seen that email they sent out? 📧 it's like they're trying to sell nostalgia or something 😒, instead of actually celebrating the art of film... and what's up with all these terrible movie titles? a minecraft movie?! 🤯 sinners?! one battle after another?! it's like they're not even trying anymore...

i think this is way bigger than just netflix vs warner bros though... it's about the future of cinema as we know it... if corporations are gonna dictate what we watch, then we lose that human connection with art and storytelling... i mean, who needs algorithm-driven mediocrity when you can have something real and meaningful? 🤔

💔 I'm really disappointed about this acquisition 🤕 Netflix is just trying to crush the competition and make a quick buck 💸 instead of preserving film history and supporting real artists 🎥. It's like they're treating movies as a product to be optimized, not an art form that brings people together 🌎. And don't even get me started on the email they sent out – it was all about selling nostalgia and feeling good, but what about the actual films? 🙄 What happened to passion and creativity?
