Nice: Ligue 1 club condemn fans over 'unacceptable' player confrontation

Ligue 1 club Nice has condemned fans for their "unacceptable" behavior towards players and staff after a confrontation on Monday evening. The team's return home from Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Lorient was marred by around 400 supporters blocking the bus, setting off flares, and chanting hostile songs.

The incidents, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, targeted forwards Terem Moffi, Jeremie Boga, and sporting director Florian Maurice. Boga has been on medical leave since Monday due to the confrontation. According to reports in France, fans also heckled players and staff during the ordeal.

Nice issued a statement condemning the behavior, stating that while they understand the frustration caused by the team's poor performances, the incidents were unacceptable and targeted several club members. The club offered its full support to those affected and condemned the acts in "the strongest possible terms."

The confrontation followed Nice's sixth consecutive defeat in all competitions, leaving the club 10th in Ligue 1 with 17 points from 14 games.

.. fans can get pretty intense when they're disappointed πŸ˜”, but at what cost? I mean, blocking a bus and setting off flares is just not cool 🚫. It's like, yeah we get it, the team had a tough game, but do you really have to take it out on the poor guys who are just trying to do their job? And now Boga's got an injury to deal with... that's no good at all πŸ€•.

It makes me think about how much pressure these athletes are under, not just from their games, but also from the fans. It's like, we're already screaming at them on the telly, but then some of us take it to the next level and start intimidating them in person? That's just sad πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I guess what I'm saying is, let's try to be a bit more understanding and empathetic, especially when our teams are having a tough time. We can still support them without losing our cool 😎.

I don't get why fans are taking out their frustrations on the actual people working hard for the team πŸ€”πŸ†. I mean, I know it's tough watching your team lose and all that, but setting off flares and heckling players in person is just not cool πŸ˜’. The owners should really do something to address these issues, like increasing security or something. And btw, 400 fans blocking the bus? That's just crazy! Can't we just be respectful of others' personal space? πŸš«πŸ‘Ž

Ugh, what a bunch of idiots πŸ™„! I mean, I get it, losing is tough, but blocking their bus and setting off flares? That's just not cool πŸ˜’. And targeting the players and staff like that? Classless, plain and simple πŸ‘Ž. I'm surprised the club didn't take it further, considering the season they're having. 10th in Ligue 1 with only 17 points? It's a disaster 🀯. Anyway, kudos to Nice for standing up for themselves and their staff. Fans have to take responsibility for their actions, you know? Can't just blame the team for everything πŸ˜’.

Ugh 😩, what's wrong with these fans?! They're like a bad joke, blocking the bus and setting off flares... that's just not cool 🚫. I mean, I get it, they're frustrated, but can't they just chill? 🀯 Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga seem like super nice guys, no reason to treat them like that πŸ˜”. And poor Florian Maurice getting targeted too... hope the club takes care of him πŸ’•. It's just not worth it, all this stress and negativity... someone needs to calm down πŸ™.

omg u no wut i'd do if i was on dat team bus lol idc about their perfomance they're gettin paid to play lol but for real tho its wild that fans r more aggro than the players imho its not just about the game its abt respect & sportsmanship πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Ugh, can't believe what happened at Nice πŸ˜’. I mean, I get it, they had a tough game and lost 3-1 but do they need to take it out on their own staff? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Fans blocking the bus and setting off flares? That's just crazy! And to target specific players like Moffi and Boga... that's just not cool. I feel bad for them, especially Jeremie who's already been dealing with injuries. πŸ˜• The worst part is that it's just a bunch of idiots being unreasonable and selfish. Can't fans just be supportive instead of turning on the people who work hard to make them happy? πŸ™„

This is getting out of hand! 😳 The fans' behavior towards their own players and staff is just as bad as some of the controversies surrounding our politicians. I mean, think about it - they're still managing to make their own team look bad on purpose! It's like a never-ending soap opera, but in a football stadium.

And let's be real, 10th place in Ligue 1 isn't exactly a disaster zone... yet πŸ€”. It's almost as if the fans are trying to sabotage the team's chances of doing well, just like some folks who think they can "help" our government by voting for opposing parties (just kidding, sorta πŸ˜‰).

The club needs to get its own house in order before it starts blaming its fans. I mean, how many times have we seen politicians point fingers at their opponents instead of taking responsibility themselves? πŸ™„

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ ugh can't believe these fans are doing this to their own players and staff i mean yeah they're having a tough season but that's no excuse for being abusive like what if the team was your sibling or something? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i think it's super sad when sports rivalries get out of hand it's supposed to be fun for everyone involved, not some toxic hate fest. and btw 400 fans showing up at the bus is just crazy talk. don't they know that's private property?! 🚫 what are the fans gonna do next? stage a takeover or something? πŸ˜‚

omg u guys i feel so bad for those players 😩 they must have been so scared and emotional after that bus incident 🚌 it sounds like fans were going too far with their anger towards the team, like seriously calm down ppl πŸ™ terem and jeremie are already dealing with injuries and mental health issues, don't they need some peace and quiet in their lives? πŸ€• i think the club reacted pretty well by condemning the behavior and offering support to the affected players 🌟 but still, fans should know that throwing flares and chanting mean stuff ain't gonna get them a win πŸ˜‚

Ugh, can't believe what's going on with Ligue 1 clubs these days πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I remember back in my day (I'm old enough to know better πŸ˜‰), fans wouldn't dare disrupt a team's bus after a bad game. I mean, what's the point of even showing up if you're just gonna cause trouble? It's not like the players are making that much money or something πŸ’Έ.

And 400 supporters blocking the bus? That's crazy! In my day, we were lucky to get a decent-sized crowd at our local pub matches 🍺. I guess times have changed and some fans have lost sight of what being a supporter is all about ⚽️.

Still, I gotta feel for Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga (and Florian Maurice too, poor guy's on medical leave 😷). These guys are just trying to do their job, and yet they get subjected to this kind of abuse. It's just not right πŸ€”.

man I'm surprised at the reaction of some fans in Ligue 1 🀯... like I know they're frustrated and all, but setting off flares and blocking a bus? that's just not cool πŸ˜’. it's one thing to boo the team after a bad game, but when you take it out on the players and staff too? it's just not right πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. i feel for Terem Moffi and Jeremie Boga, especially since they're already dealing with injuries and stuff πŸ€•. nice should be able to have a tough time without all that drama 😩.

Ugh, can you believe some fans? I mean, I get it, teams are having a rough season and people are gonna be upset... but setting off flares and blocking the bus? That's just ridiculous 😩. And to make matters worse, they were targeting specific players and staff members? That's not cool at all πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. The club was right to condemn that behavior - it's unacceptable and not representative of how fans should be acting.

I'm still nostalgic for the good old days of Ligue 1 when the fans were more focused on supporting their team than causing chaos 😊. I know teams can't control everything, but it's up to us as fans to show some respect for everyone involved - players, staff, and even the bus drivers 🚌! The club is right to offer support to those affected by this incident, and I hope Boga recovers from his injury soon 🀞.

omg I'm so frustrated with the fans of Nice right now 🀯 they're literally taking out their anger on innocent people who are just trying to do their jobs. it's not cool that some of them blocked the bus and set off flares, it's super scary for the players and staff. and what's with the chants? can't they just express themselves in a more positive way? 😑 I get that the team has been doing badly, but that's no excuse to be so aggressive. i hope the club gets some support from their fans to help them turn things around soon πŸ’ͺ

🚨😬 another football team getting pummeled by their own fans... like, what's up with that? can't even get a win without turning on each other πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. nice got roasted so bad and they're just sitting there watching as their players are getting harassed 😩. 400 people blocking the bus? flares? chanting? talk about taking it out on the wrong people 🚫. fans should be supporting their team, not tearing them apart πŸ‘Ž. btw, nice has been on a losing streak for ages... maybe they just need some tough love (or a few wins) to get things straight πŸ’ͺ
