Nigerian schoolgirls rescued after mass abduction in Kebbi

Rescue Mission Ends in Tears of Relief for Nigerian Schoolgirls' Families

President Bola Tinubu has announced that 24 schoolgirls abducted from a secondary school in Kebbi state, north-western Nigeria last week have been rescued. The girls were among 25 taken by assailants on November 17 from the Government Girls Comprehensive secondary school in Maga town, with one girl managing to escape on the same day.

According to the principal of the school, Musa Rabi Magaji, all the abducted girls had been released and were being held by authorities. However, no details have been released about their condition. The families of the abducted girls are finally getting some relief as they had been anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones.

One of the mothers of the kidnapped girls, Abdulkarim Abdullahi, expressed her gratitude to the government and said she was "excited" to receive news of the girls' freedom. The kidnappings have left many families in a state of panic, but thanks to the rescue mission, at least some of them can finally sleep better tonight.

The recent wave of mass abductions is a worrying trend in Nigeria, where schools have become a prime target for armed gangs and bandits seeking to draw attention and extort ransoms. The incident in Kebbi follows a spate of similar attacks across the country, including the abduction of over 300 students from St Mary's school in Niger state.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that no group has claimed responsibility for the kidnappings, but analysts say they are often carried out by gangs of bandits who target schools and remote communities. The Nigerian government has promised to increase security presence in vulnerable areas to prevent such incidents.

The rescue mission is seen as a step in the right direction towards addressing the growing insecurity in the country. However, more needs to be done to ensure that such attacks do not continue to happen. The US president's recent comments about Christians being persecuted in Nigeria have sparked controversy, and it remains to be seen how the government will address these concerns.

For now, at least 24 schoolgirls are safe and sound after a harrowing ordeal. Their rescue is a testament to the bravery of those who worked tirelessly to secure their release. As the families of the kidnapped girls begin the process of reunification, they can finally start to rebuild their lives.

man, its crazy that these girls were held captive for so long... 24 days? thats like, forever 🀯. i feel bad for the families, gotta imagine how scared and worried they must've been. but at the same time, its awesome that the rescue mission was successful and those girls are safe now πŸŽ‰. theres still so much going on in nigeria tho, these mass abductions cant just keep happening... somethin needs to change. maybe more security measures or somethin? dont know, but its good to see the govt takin steps in the right direction πŸ™. anyway, glad those girls are home safe and sound πŸ’•.

omg what a relief 🀩 these poor schoolgirls were held captive for so long 😱 i hope they get all the help they need after this ordeal πŸ’• it's like the government was finally able to step up and do something about these kidnappings, though they should've done more sooner πŸ”™ and yeah lets not forget that one girl who managed to escape, she's a total hero πŸ™Œ we can't even begin to imagine how scary and alone she must have felt during her time captive πŸ˜“ let's keep those schoolgirls safe and sound from now on πŸ™

man this is such a huge relief for the families of those schoolgirls, i cant even imagine how anxious and scared they must be feeling these past few days πŸ˜©πŸ’” but thank god the rescue mission was able to get them out safely now that the dust has settled its clear that nigerias security situation is pretty messed up with all these mass abductions happening left and right what needs to happen ASAP is more needs to be done to prevent these kinds of attacks from happening again πŸ€”πŸš¨ the us presidents comments were a bit concerning but hopefully nigeria can just focus on getting their own house in order for now let's just hope those girls are doing okay after everything they went through πŸ’•

idk how credible this story is... like 24 schoolgirls just happen to get rescued without any further info on what happened after? and no pics or vids of the girls are mentioned at all πŸ€”. seems too convenient for the government to just announce the rescue out of the blue like this. plus, how can we trust that the girls are even safe now? maybe they're being held against their will again 🚫. need more sources and transparency on this story before i start celebrating πŸ˜’

I don't know... πŸ€” I mean, 24 schoolgirls rescued is great and all, but it's still super sad that this happened in the first place... πŸ˜” Like, shouldn't we be focusing on preventing these kidnappings from happening instead of just responding to them? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And I'm not saying the government isn't doing anything right, but at the same time, all these comments about Christians being persecuted are like, totally unnecessary... πŸ™„ I mean, can't we all just get along and focus on keeping our kids safe? πŸ˜’

On the other hand, I guess it's awesome that the rescue mission was successful and stuff... πŸ’ͺ But what about the one girl who managed to escape? Shouldn't she be getting some kind of recognition or something? πŸ€”

And don't even get me started on the fact that no group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ That's just so frustrating. It feels like we're not really addressing the root cause of these problems... πŸ˜’

🚨 I'm so relieved that some of these poor kids are finally safe πŸ™, but let's be real, this is just a tiny drop in a massive ocean πŸ’§. We need systemic changes, not just token rescues πŸ€”. The fact that 25 girls had to be held captive for God knows how long is just unacceptable 😷. And what about the one girl who managed to escape? Is she being protected or is she still in danger? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

We need more than just empty promises from the government πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ. We need concrete actions and real accountability πŸ’―. These girls were taken away from their families, friends, and education for what? So we can feel good about ourselves for a little while? No way, Jose! 🚫 We need to get to the root of this problem and start taking real steps to protect our children. That's the only way we'll ever see any real change πŸ”„πŸ’ͺ

Just heard about this amazing news πŸ™Œ! I'm so relieved that 24 schoolgirls were able to be rescued from Nigeria. It's just heartbreaking thinking about those poor girls who went through such trauma and how long it must have taken for the families to get any updates on their loved ones πŸ€•. This is definitely a step in the right direction, but we gotta keep pushing for more safety measures to prevent these attacks from happening in the first place πŸ’ͺ. Can't wait to see what the Nigerian government does next to address this growing insecurity issue 😊.

πŸ™ Finally some good news for Nigerian families. It's about time these girls are safe 😊. This is a step in the right direction but we need more action to prevent these attacks from happening again πŸ’ͺ.

man this is such good news πŸ™. it's crazy how these schoolgirls were just sitting in class and then BAM! taken away by these bad guys. i hope all 24 of them are doing okay, i mean we don't know much about them yet but hopefully they're not too traumatized from the whole ordeal.

it's really sad that this has become a thing in nigeria, schools being used as targets for armed gangs and bandits. it's like they're trying to hold the country hostage or something. but at least there are people working on it, like the authorities who just rescued these girls.

i'm curious though, why haven't we heard from any of these kidnappers yet? do they even have a group? it would be good if they claimed responsibility so we can address the issue properly.

anyway, this rescue mission is definitely a step in the right direction. let's hope more efforts are made to secure schools and remote communities. the families of those kidnapped girls deserve all the support and relief they can get πŸ€—

OMG, like I'm super relieved that 24 schoolgirls have been rescued πŸ™Œ! This is a huge win for Nigeria and a great step forward in keeping those kids safe from all this craziness 😬. I feel so bad for the families who've been going through this nightmare, but at least now they can start to heal πŸ’•. It's crazy how schools have become targets for armed gangs and bandits - it's like, what even is going on here? 🀯 The Nigerian government needs to keep increasing security presence in these areas ASAP πŸ”’! Fingers crossed that more kids will be safe soon 🀞. This rescue mission is definitely a step in the right direction πŸ’‘, but we need to see some real change happen for this issue to truly be addressed πŸ“Š.

😊 seeing the relief on those families' faces after weeks of uncertainty must be incredibly emotional. it's a harsh reminder that life is full of ups and downs & sometimes you just have to trust in the people working towards your recovery πŸ™ these schoolgirls were subjected to so much trauma & I can only imagine how hard it must be for them to process everything they went through, but their rescue is a beacon of hope that things can get better πŸ’‘

Wow πŸ˜ŠπŸ™ the relief must be overwhelming for these families after all this terror! Interesting how the government is stepping up security measures 🚨πŸ’ͺ, but we need more concrete actions to prevent such incidents in the future...and hopefully, the US president's comments won't create more chaos πŸ€”

πŸ™ At least 24 schoolgirls are safe, that's what matters πŸ’•. Let's focus on the rescue mission, not the politics πŸ€”. The Nigerian government needs to step up security measures to prevent these attacks from happening again πŸ”’. It's a start, but we need more πŸ’ͺ.

I'm so relieved to hear that 24 schoolgirls have been rescued in Nigeria πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’•. The thought of those girls being held captive for so long must be unbearable for their families 😩. It's heartbreaking that schools have become a prime target for armed gangs and bandits, leaving many parents feeling anxious and scared 🀯. I hope the government can take steps to increase security presence in vulnerable areas to prevent such incidents from happening again πŸ’ͺ.

I'm also worried about the recent comments made by the US president about Christians being persecuted in Nigeria πŸ€”. It's not clear how this will affect the situation or whether it'll lead to more attacks on schools and communities 🚨. For now, though, let's just focus on celebrating the bravery of those who worked tirelessly to secure the girls' release πŸ’₯. The fact that they're safe and sound is all that matters right now ❀️.

πŸ™ It's crazy how some people think schools are just sitting ducks for these gangs and bandits! I mean, our schools should be safe spaces for kids to learn and grow, not places where they're at risk of being abducted or hurt. The fact that the rescue mission was able to save all 24 girls is a huge relief, but it's also a reminder that we need to keep pushing for more security measures in our communities. The US president's comments were pretty tone-deaf, imo πŸ˜’

🌟 I'm so relieved to hear that 24 schoolgirls have been rescued from their captors in Nigeria πŸ™. It's heartbreaking to think about the families who were waiting for news of their loved ones, wondering if they'd ever see them again 😩. The recent wave of mass abductions is a huge concern, and it's great that the Nigerian government is taking steps to increase security presence in vulnerable areas πŸ’ͺ.

It's also amazing to see how quickly news spreads when people care πŸ“±. I'm sure those 24 girls will need time to heal and recover from their ordeal, but at least they're safe now ❀️. We should all be cheering them on as they start this new chapter of their lives πŸ‘. The bravery of the rescue team is truly inspiring πŸ’•, and I hope it's a turning point in addressing the growing insecurity in Nigeria 🀞

omg this is such a relief for the girls & their fams πŸ™ i mean 24 ppl are safe thats a huge win but lets be real nigeria's got a lot more on its plate rn like we need to get to the bottom of who did this & how they're gonna prevent it from happening again in the future too πŸ€”

OMG, what an amazing relief for these families!!! πŸ™ŒπŸ˜ I can only imagine how scared and worried they must have been! My heart is with them right now πŸ’–. The fact that 24 of the girls were rescued is just incredible - it's like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders 😊. We've gotta keep supporting our Nigerian government as they work to increase security measures & protect our schools 🀝. It's such a worrying trend, but we can't give up hope πŸ’ͺ. These poor girls will be going through therapy and counseling for a long time, but at least they're safe now ❀️. Fingers crossed that more kids are rescued soon! πŸš¨πŸ’•
