I'm so stoked about the aurora alert! I've always wanted to see the northern lights and now it sounds like I might be able to catch a glimpse in my state . I know the forecast says they're only expected to be G2, but that's still pretty cool. I've heard it's like nothing you've ever seen before - all those colors dancing across the sky... yeah, I need to make sure I'm outside on Thursday night with some warm drinks and a blanket to keep me cozy . And Alaska is one of the best places to see them? That just makes me want to plan a trip even more !
Oh man, I'm so down for seeing the aurora this week! I've heard it's gonna be super lit and have more dynamic movements than usual. I'm in Alaska, and I'm hoping to catch a glimpse of it on Thursday night . The forecast is looking pretty promising, but you never know what Mother Nature's got up her sleeve. I'm thinking of grabbing my camera and tripod and getting ready for some epic shots . If anyone else has plans to catch the aurora, let me know!
OMG ! Can you even imagine witnessing the Northern Lights in all its glory? It's like something straight outta a sci-fi movie! I'm literally counting down the hours until Thursday night, hoping to catch a glimpse of that ethereal glow in New York . G2-grade events are supposed to be pretty cool (get it? cool ), so fingers crossed that the storms don't get too intense and ruin the show . Alaska is already having some amazing viewing parties on social media, btw... all I can think about is sipping hot cocoa while watching the aurora dance across the sky !
I know we were just talking about how the northern lights are so cool but not really visible in the lower 48 states... and now they're saying there's a chance we might see them down here? Like, is it possible that this week we'll actually get to see that crazy light show in places like NY or CT? I'm so stoked if that's true! But at the same time, I know it's not guaranteed... what if they're wrong and it doesn't happen? We were talking about how great it would be to have some sort of aurora forecast thingy... do you think that's a good idea?
omg I remember when I was 10, I went to Alaska with my family and we saw the northern lights for like a whole hour straight it was so magical! we were all huddled around this little telescope thingy trying to get a better view... my little sis just kept saying "it's gonna be so pretty!!!" and sure enough, those swirly lights started dancing across the sky . I know some people might not make it up north for the aurora, but I say why not?! if you wanna chase the lights, just get out there with a good pair of binoculars or a telescope and enjoy the show!
๏ธ 60% of people in the US are excited about the Aurora Alert , but did you know that Alaska's population only accounts for 1% of the country's total ? Meanwhile, New York is expecting an average of 2,500 viewers to travel from out-of-state to witness the Northern Lights on Thursday night . If we zoom in on the forecast, G2-grade events are relatively rare, occurring about once every 5 years , but even these can bring the aurora into view further south. I'm guessing most people would rather spend their time binge-watching Netflix than braving -20ยฐC temperatures ...
