Man Arrested in Brutal Bronx Bar Stabbing: NYPD Charges Him with Murder
A devastating incident of violence erupted on a Sunday morning outside the Mama Dora Bar and Lounge in the Bronx, leaving one woman dead. 35-year-old Pamela Almonte Cabrera was stabbed multiple times by Cristian Moya, a 28-year-old man from Kingsbridge Terrace, after she attempted to break up a dispute between him and her boyfriend.
According to authorities, the altercation began inside the bar but spilled onto the sidewalk around 4:10 am. In an attempt to intervene in the fight, Cabrera was attacked by Moya with a small knife, resulting in fatal injuries. She was taken to BronxCare Health Systems before being transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Moya was arrested two days later on Tuesday at 7:30 pm, and he now faces multiple charges including murder, manslaughter, and possession of a weapon. However, his boyfriend, the victim's partner in the altercation, was not charged with any crime by police.
Cristian Moya is currently awaiting arraignment and his attorney has yet to be identified. The NYPD has taken swift action against him for this heinous act, emphasizing that violence will not be tolerated in New York City communities.
