Ole Gunnar Solskjær set for face-to-face talks with Manchester United this weekend

Manchester United's Future Takes Shape as Solskjær Meets with Club Executives

Manchester United is on the cusp of naming an interim manager, and Ole Gunnar Solskjær is expected to have face-to-face talks with club executives at the Carrington training base this weekend. The Norwegian, who previously served as interim manager from December 2018 to March 2019, is vying with Michael Carrick for the role.

A meeting between Solskjær and Omar Berrada, United's chief executive, along with Jason Wilcox, the director of football, has been scheduled at a key moment in the club's season. The talks are seen as an attempt to determine who will lead the team until the end of the season.

Carrick is considered a strong contender for the job, having impressed Berrada and Wilcox during his recent interview. However, Darren Fletcher cannot be ruled out, despite currently serving as caretaker manager. Fletcher's impressive display at Turf Moor, where he guided United to a draw against Burnley, may have increased his chances.

Solskjær's tenure at Manchester United has been marked by significant success, including two league titles and the 2021 Europa League final appearance. Carrick, who served as part of Solskjær's coaching staff before being promoted, is now poised to take over the reins.

The future role for Solskjær under a potential new manager remains unclear. If Carrick is appointed, it's possible that Solskjær could be offered a role under him as his No 2. However, the details of this potential arrangement are still unknown.

Meanwhile, Fletcher has been focused on preparing United for their upcoming FA Cup tie against Brighton at Old Trafford. In a recent interview, he emphasized his commitment to leading the team and managing expectations about his long-term future at the club.

idk what's goin on with man u rn... they need someone to take charge ASAP cuz this season is slipping away from them :( 😩 i mean ole solskjær has done alright in the past, but carrick seems like a solid choice too... if fletcher doesn't get it, he should at least stay as caretaker manager 🙏

man i really think solskjaer's gonna get the job lol 🤞 they need some stability now with all the drama and changes in the squad... carrick's a good candidate tho, he knows the team inside out 👍 but idc who gets it, as long as they can get us back to competing at a high level 💪

I was just thinking about how much I love trying new foodie spots in Manchester 🍴👌. Have you guys tried that new street food market near the city center? I swear, their Korean BBQ tacos are insane! 😂 The other day, I went with my friends and we were all like "wow, this is so good!" And now I'm craving it like crazy 🤤. Anyway, back to Manchester United... who do you guys think should be the next manager? Carrick or Solskjær? 🤔 Personally, I'm a bit of a neutral fan, but I love how passionate everyone gets about football 😂.

I think Ole Solskjær deserves another chance 🤔... he's got the managerial skills, and he's already proven himself here before 🏆. But I get why they're considering Michael Carrick too - he's been part of the team for years, knows the players inside out 😊. Darren Fletcher might be a dark horse though... his caretaker job at Burnley was impressive 🙌. What's most important is that whoever takes over makes sure the team stays united and works towards those league titles 💪. Less drama, more footy wins 🏆

man, i think man ut needs 2 get back 2 its roots lol 🤣 like, solskjaer's got the skills but carrick's da one who knows da game inside out, ya feel? he was part of solskjaers coaching staff and all dat. but omar berrada's gotta make a tough choice cuz both r good in different ways 🤔. fletcher's doing well as caretaker manager tho, might as well give him da job 🎯. can't say i'm 1 way or t'other about it lol 😂

I feel like Manchester United is having a major identity crisis 🤔. They had Ole Gunnar Solskjær as their interim manager back in 2019 and now they're talking about him coming back for another go-round? And what's up with Michael Carrick being in the mix too? I mean, he was a great player but coaching is a whole different beast 🤷‍♂️. And then there's Darren Fletcher who just got done as caretaker manager and did alright, no big deal 😐. Can't we just stick to one person for once? It feels like they're just spinning their wheels trying to figure out what's going on at Old Trafford ⏰.

I'm not sure why Manchester United is rushing into an interim manager job anyway 🤔. I mean, can't they just keep Solskjær for now? He's had some great successes in the past, like that Europa League final appearance 🏆. And what's with all these different contenders - Carrick, Fletcher, and Omar Berrada? Can't they just pick one already? 💁‍♀️ It's gonna be a long season if they keep changing managers mid-stream...

man... ole's gonna be back 🙌 at man u? i remember when he first came in 2018, we were all hyped cuz it was solskjaer again! lol how did that work out though? anywayz, carrick is a solid choice too, been around the block a few times, knows the club's ins & outs. fletcher's gotta be feeling some heat now tho 🤔 what's gonna happen if carrick gets the gig? might have to give ole a job as his right-hand man... that'd be cool i guess 👍

So the Manchester United situation is getting more interesting by the day 🤔. I think it's crazy that they're even having a meeting with Solskjær again, considering how well he did in the past. Two league titles under his belt? That's no joke! 💪 But at the same time, Michael Carrick seems like a solid choice too - who wouldn't want a former player turned coach leading the team? 🤝 And what about Darren Fletcher? I mean, that draw against Burnley was impressive... maybe he's not as done for as everyone thinks 😏. Can't wait to see how it all plays out! 👀
