I'm not really sure why we need advent calendars for grown-ups anymore... like, don't get me wrong, it's cool that kids are excited about this stuff, but I think it just perpetuates consumerism. Can't we be more creative with our time and money? 
And what's up with the limited-edition thing? It feels like they're trying to guilt us into buying something just because it's exclusive. Meanwhile, I'm over here imagining ways to make a positive impact on the world... 
! Can't believe we're already stuck in this consumerist cycle. I mean, who really needs a special edition Lego set or a Funko Pop just because it's December? It feels like companies are cashing in on our childhood nostalgia and making us spend more money than we need to. And what's the point of these limited-edition calendars anyway? Just so they can say "oh look, we're exclusive" and charge an arm and a leg for them. Give me a break! 
At least Magna-Tiles is trying something new with their advent calendar, but I'm not convinced it's enough to save the holiday season from its commercialization... 
as a parent of little one who loves building and creating, this magna-tiles thing sounds like a dream come true! 34 tiles is insane, can't wait to see what kinda crazy stuff my kid comes up with with that thing. also why did they have to include santa and conductor figurines tho? feels like an extra $10 lol. but seriously though, i'm so down for more interactive toys and playsets that encourage creativity, these advent calendars are gonna be a hit this christmas season
