"Our forever home": HGTV takes on Trump's White House ballroom on "Saturday Night Live"

The Trumps' Quest for a Forever Home Takes Center Stage on SNL

In a hilarious sketch that aired on this weekend's episode of "Saturday Night Live," the hosts of HGTV's "Property Brothers" were called in to oversee the renovation of Donald Trump's White House ballroom. With a budget of "$350 million to infinity," the pseudo-twins, Drew and Jonathan Scott, got to work adding as much gold as possible to the presidential home.

As they worked on their vision for the grand ballroom, the President showed them his moodboard, which included images of Vladimir Putin's palace and Jabba the Hutt's palace from "Return of the Jedi." Meanwhile, Melania Trump was seen walking through a passage lined with dead trees and skeletons, accompanied by her husband's property bro, who complimented her on the First Lady's Halloween decorations.

"It's for Christmas," Melania replied dryly to her husband's companion.

The sketch took a darker turn as the Trumps revealed their ultimate plan: sticking around for a third term in office and even attempting a coup. "We want this to be our forever home," Melania explained, as if it were a normal part of life at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

With the White House ballroom nearing completion, the President was overheard saying that he planned on staying put until his third term – no matter what it took. It's clear that the Trumps are serious about making their mark on the nation's capital and leaving an indelible mark on American history. But at what cost to the country?

idk if this is a joke or not 🤔 but if trump really planning 2 stay 4 3rd term that's like, super bad news 🚨. i mean we already have enough problems with politics and divisiveness in america... do we really need more of the same? 🤷‍♀️

but on a lighter note i love the property brothers sketch it was hella funny 🤣 especially when they showed off melania's halloween decorations lol 👻. but seriously though, this whole thing is kinda wild 🌪️ and raises some serious questions about our country's future 🌎

I'm low-key worried about this sketch 🤔. Like, I get it, it's meant to be satirical but come on, a third term for Trump? That sounds like some crazy stuff right out of a horror movie 😱. And those dead trees and skeletons in the hallway? That just feels like a cry for help or something... 😅 But you know what really got me? The way they were just casually tossing around the idea of a coup 🤝. I mean, that's some serious stuff right there. It's not exactly reassuring to think about the guy who's been trying to undermine democracy for years now trying to hold onto power by any means necessary 💔. And what does this say about our country? Is it just going to sit back and let someone with a grudge against the system just take over? 🤷‍♂️

I think its pretty wild how far the Trumps are willing to go with this whole White House renovation thing 🤯. A $350 million budget for a ballroom? That's insane! And yeah, the whole third-term thing is just straight up crazy talk 💥. I mean, what even is the point of that? Do they really think they're going to be able to make it work and get away with it? It's hard not to wonder if this whole thing is some kinda publicity stunt.

I also got a good laugh out of Melania's dead tree and skeleton hallway decoration 🌲💀. Like, I'm sure it was meant to be ironic or something but... yeah. Anyway, its definitely entertaining to watch the Trumps get roasted on SNL 👏. But at the end of the day, is this all just a distraction from the real issues? We should probably keep an eye on things and see how this whole situation plays out 🤔.

omg u guys i am literally FREAKING OUT over this sketch!!! i mean seriously who tries to coup in the middle of a renovation 🤯😱 and melania's response tho?? "it's for christmas" deadass kill me at the same time i'm lowkey impressed by their audacity lol but for real though what kind of person thinks they can just stay in office forever and not even try to hide it 🙅‍♂️ and don't even get me started on the gold balls in the ballroom... like is this some kinda twisted fairy tale? i guess that's what happens when you've got a president who thinks he's above the law 🚫 anyway gotta say though, this sketch just gave me major shade for the trumps' entire administration 😂

😒 I'm just thinking, can we really be laughing at this sketch right now? The whole thing feels like a parody of a trainwreck that you can't look away from... but is it actually funny or is it just sad? Like, the Trumps are already so out of touch with reality. A third term in office? It's just unprecedented and alarming 🤯 And what's up with Melania walking through the passage lined with dead trees and skeletons? That's just creepy 😳 The whole thing feels like a commentary on how far off the Trumps are from understanding what it means to be a part of this country. We need to be having real conversations about the state of politics, not laughing at sketches that feel like they're mocking us instead 🤔

omg I'm literally DYING over this sketch 🤣 the idea of trump trying to renovate the white house ballroom like it's his own personal palace is just too much to handle 💁‍♂️ and can we talk about how low-key creepy melania's halloween decorations were 🎃 but for real tho, a third term in office? is this even possible?!?! I'm low-key scared what would happen if he actually tried to pull that off 😨 and can we please just get back on track with the 2024 elections already?!?!
