Pakistan arrests 4 Islamabad bombing ‘facilitators’ as victims laid to rest

Pakistan says it has made a "major breakthrough" in its investigation into the deadly bombing at a mosque in Islamabad on Friday. Four individuals have been arrested as part of the operation, which military officials claim is aimed at uncovering those behind the attack that killed over 30 worshippers and injured hundreds.

The authorities say the planning, training, and indoctrination for the attack took place in Afghanistan, under what they describe as "Afghan Taliban patronage." They also accuse India of sponsoring the attack, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi saying Pakistan has shared evidence showing that terrorism in the country is backed by New Delhi.

However, India has rejected the accusations, calling them "baseless and pointless." The Indian government says it condemns the attack and offers condolences to the victims, but accuses Pakistan of trying to shift attention away from its own internal issues.

The arrest of the four individuals brings a measure of comfort to the families of those killed in the bombing. Thousands gathered at the mosque on Saturday to pay their respects to the victims, many of whom were killed by the blast.

Security authorities have been conducting raids and making arrests in various parts of Pakistan, including Peshawar and Nowshera. The operation is seen as a major step forward in the investigation into the attack, which is being described as one of the deadliest in Islamabad since 2008.

The government has pledged to bring those responsible for the bombing to justice, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif saying that the perpetrators will be brought to account and their nefarious designs will never succeed. The President also acknowledged the global messages of condolence and solidarity sent by other countries, which are reinforcing Pakistan's commitment to peace and unity.

The attack has raised fears of a return to violence in Pakistan's major urban centers, with some residents saying that innocent civilians are being targeted. The authorities have promised to strengthen security measures and investigate all possible leads in the case.

🤝 I'm not sure if the accusations from Pakistan against India will lead to any tangible progress or just fuel more tension between the two countries. It feels like a classic case of each side accusing the other of trying to deflect attention, but we need concrete evidence and cooperation to really get to the bottom of this. The fact that thousands gathered at the mosque to pay their respects is definitely reassuring for the families of the victims. 💔

I don't think this is a big deal, tbh 🤷‍♂️... I mean, we've seen similar stuff go down before, but at least they're making some arrests now 😒. The thing is, if India's really not behind it, then why are they being so tight-lipped about the whole thing? It just seems like a convenient excuse to deflect attention from their own issues 🙄... and let's be real, we all know Pakistan's been dealing with internal stuff for ages 💸. I'm no expert, but it seems like this operation is more of a PR stunt than an actual major breakthrough 📺. The fact that they're pointing fingers at India just makes me think there's more to the story than what we're being told 🤔...

🤔 I mean, think about it, this attack just brings us back to the same old cycle of violence and retaliation... 🚫 we're so caught up in trying to point fingers at each other that we forget about the real issue - how do we stop these kind of attacks from happening in the first place? 🤷‍♂️ It's always someone else's fault, whether it's India or Afghanistan... but what about us? What can we do to create a safer, more peaceful world for everyone? 🌎 I guess that's just a question we'll keep asking ourselves until we actually take action. 💭

man i feel bad for those who lost their loved ones at that mosque bombing 😔 it's crazy how things can escalate into this level of violence in a matter of minutes. but let's not jump to conclusions about pakistan and india, we don't have all the facts yet 🤔 i mean, if pakistan is saying that afghanistan was involved then maybe there's some truth to it? shouldn't we be looking at all angles before making accusations against india? 🤷‍♂️ and btw, its interesting how security authorities are cracking down on the perpetrators and bringing them to justice 💥 hopefully this operation will help bring some peace back to islamabad

Wow 🤯🇵🇰 Pakistan is taking this seriously and making moves to get to the bottom of it. Arresting 4 individuals and accusing India of backing the attack is a big move, but I'm not sure how much evidence they have to back it up. India's denying it though, which is frustrating for Pakistan. Thousands showing up to pay their respects to those who were killed is a beautiful thing 💕🙏

I'm really concerned about this whole situation 🤕. On one hand, I think it's great that Pakistan is taking steps to investigate the attack and bring those responsible to justice 💥. The fact that they've made a "major breakthrough" with four arrests is definitely a positive development 👍.

But on the other hand, I'm not sure I buy the claims about Afghanistan being behind the attack 🤔. It seems like a pretty big accusation to make without solid evidence 📝. And as for India's alleged sponsorship of the attack... I think it's possible that there may be some truth to those allegations, but we need more concrete proof before we can say for sure 💡.

The thing is, Pakistan and India have a long history of tensions and disputes 🔥. It's easy to see how accusations like this could fly back and forth between the two countries 🔄. But ultimately, it's the innocent civilians who get caught in the crossfire 👥. I hope that both countries can put aside their differences and work together to build peace and stability 🌈.

It's also really important for the international community to recognize the severity of this attack and offer genuine support to Pakistan 🌎. We've seen so many tragic events like this in recent years, but it's still shocking to see innocent people targeted and killed 💔. I just hope that we can learn from these incidents and work towards a more peaceful future 🙏.

OMG, this is such a relief 💖! Four individuals arrested is a huge step forward 🙌, I mean who doesn't love a good #JusticeForTheVictims 🕊️? But seriously, the fact that the planning happened under Afghan Taliban patronage 🤔 is super concerning 🚨. And India accusing Pakistan of sponsoring the attack is like, totally #NotBuyingIt 🤑. Like, can we just focus on bringing those responsible to justice already? 💪 #StopTheHate #JusticeForAll

🤕 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. Another mosque bombing in Pakistan, and it just keeps getting worse. 30 people dead, hundreds injured... what's going on? 🤯 It's not like India hasn't done some shady stuff in the past, but accusing them of sponsoring the attack? That's a pretty big leap. I'm not buying it. 😒

I mean, I get that Pakistan needs to crack down on terrorism, but this just feels like more of the same old cycle of revenge and blame-shifting. 🤷‍♂️ We need some real solutions here, not just empty words and arrests. 🚔 The fact that security authorities are still finding new leads after all these years is just a nightmare. 😩

And what about the poor families who lost loved ones? They deserve so much better than to be caught in the middle of this mess. 💔 Thousands gathered at the mosque, showing their support and respect... it's heartbreaking. 🙏

idk how long it'll take for pakistan to catch the ppl responsible but its good they're making arrests 🤔 hopefully its gonna lead to somethin meaningful 👊 the fact that india is denying any involvement just makes it harder to figure out who did it 🤷‍♂️

I dont think it makes sense for India to be accusing Pakistan again lol...its like they're stuck in a never ending cycle of blame games 🙄. Can't both countries just work together to tackle terrorism instead of pointing fingers at each other? It's really sad that innocent civilians lost their lives in the bombing and I hope justice is served soon 💔. The arrests are definitely a step in the right direction, but we need more concrete evidence to take down those responsible 🤦‍♂️. Maybe we can see some progress if both countries collaborate on intelligence sharing and joint investigations?

OMG I cant even imagine what the victims families went through 💔😱 so sad. But at the same time i wonder how can India claim they dont sponsor terrorism when theres so much evidence against them 🤷‍♀️? its like theyre just trying to save face and shift attention from their own issues 🙄. I wish pakistan would focus more on rehabilitating those who get caught up in extremist groups instead of just punishing them 👊.

🤔 this is getting outta hand fam.. pakistan says afghanistan & india are behind the attack but india is like "no way" lol, it's like they're both playing a game of blame. 🚫 i feel bad for the victims tho, 30 people dead and hundreds injured? that's just sickening 💔 meanwhile, pakistan's trying to shift attention away from its own internal issues... sounds like a case of "if you can't handle the heat, stay outta the way" 🔥👊

Dude, like, you'd think that after 17 years, Afghanistan would finally get its act together and stop producing the bad guys for Pakistan to deal with 🤦‍♂️. But nope, it's still "Afghan Taliban patronage" all the way! I mean, can't they just have a little love-fest or something? And what's up with India trying to spin this one? Like, "baseless and pointless" accusations... sounds like they're getting a little defensive 😏. Anyway, I guess it's a good thing some people are getting arrested, but let's hope justice is served quickly so the families can get some closure 💔. And honestly, I'm not sure how much more of this Pakistan-India bickering we can take... it's like they're stuck in a bad Bollywood movie 🎬

man this is such a sad thing what happened in Islamabad 🤕 it's just devastating to think about all those people who lost their lives 🙏 and hundreds more injured💔 but at least now we got some leads on who might have been behind it 🚨 hopefully they can catch the bad guys soon 💪 and bring them to justice ⚖️ my heart goes out to the families of the victims and everyone in Pakistan right now 😔

🤔 I'm not sure if this latest "breakthrough" is really going to bring any real progress. I mean, arresting four individuals is a good start, but how many more people are involved? And what about all the evidence pointing to Indian sponsorship? It just seems like Pakistan's trying to deflect attention from its own issues. 🙃

And can we talk about the security measures? Thousands of people gathered at the mosque on Saturday, and not even a single incident reported. That's either very good or very suspicious... I'm not sure which 😅.

I do hope the government follows through on their promise to bring those responsible to justice, but it seems like they're just going through the motions right now. 💔

And what about the families of the victims? They deserve more than just empty promises and a bunch of arrests 🤷‍♂️.
