Queensland to create public register of sex offenders as Daniel Morcombe's parents 'hope it will go national'

Ugh, I'm both relieved and worried about these new laws in Queensland 🤔. On one hand, it's amazing that Daniel Morcombe's family is finally getting some closure by having access to information that could help prevent other kids from being hurt 😩. And let's be real, who wouldn't want to know if a predator is living next door?! 🚫 But at the same time, I'm worried about how this system will play out in practice. Are we just creating a bunch of vigilantes who might end up harming innocent people by mistake?! 🤦‍♂️ And what about the victims themselves? Will these laws really help them or just make them feel like they're being policed all over again? 🤷‍♀️ I guess only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - this is a step in the right direction 💪.

🤔 thinkin bout da morocco fams fight 4 danies life... its like, ya can't really prevent da evil ppl from doin deir thang but at least now we got some kinda system in place 2 know if dems lurkin around ur kids 🌳 u mean, whats da point of havin dis register if ppl r still gonna find ways 2 hide? & whatabout da ones dat arent caught yet?... its like, we cant just leave em outta de picture 🤷‍♀️

This is a good start 🤞, I think creating a public register of child sex offenders is a must, but we need to make sure we're not putting all the information in one place and making it easy for them to find us 🙅‍♂️. And what about international travel? Are they going to keep track of those guys who move around the world? It's like trying to hold water in a bucket, I don't know if this system is foolproof... 😬

I think its about time we take proactive measures to protect our kids from these predators 🤝. I mean, who wants their little ones to be at risk because some twisted adult can't control themselves? It's not just about making it easier for parents to access info, it's about creating a culture of awareness and responsibility. I'm all for the Queensland system being a national model – it's a step in the right direction, even if it's not perfect. And let's be real, every little bit counts when it comes to keeping our kids safe 🌟.

🤔 I'm not sure about this new law in QLD... Sounds good on paper but what makes them think it'll actually keep kids safe? 🚫 We need some hard data to back up these claims. What's the actual rate of predators being detected and stopped by this system? And what about all the concerns from experts that our current system is weak? 🤕 Shouldn't we be focusing on prevention and support for victims instead of just creating more registers? 🤝 I'm not convinced it's a silver bullet solution...

🤔 I think its great that Queensland is taking steps to protect kids from predators... 👧🏼 But don't you think we need more info on how they plan to keep it secure? 🤝 Can't have people just googling someone's personal info and finding out where they live, right? 😬
