Remix in Google Messages brings AI photo editing to even more phones

Google has released a new feature called Remix in its messaging app that brings AI-powered photo editing capabilities to more users. This new tool utilizes Google's Gemini image model and allows users to edit photos directly within a chat, making them viewable by anyone involved in the conversation, regardless of their device operating system.

This development is significant as it expands access to Gemini-powered photo editing beyond just Android devices. Remix can now be used on various platforms with RCS enabled, including English-speaking countries like the US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, and New Zealand. Furthermore, remixed images can also be sent over MMS.

Interestingly, this feature has also been incorporated into Google Photos, enabling users to refer to friends in photos by name while editing. The app will utilize past photos of labelled friends to make tweaks like adding a smile or opening someone's eyes without needing prior references.

In other news, the latest Pixel Drop includes several enhancements aimed at enhancing user experience and improving safety. A new Power Saving Mode has been added to Google Maps, which blacks out the screen and only shows essential information and directions, promising an extension of battery life by up to four hours. Although it's unclear if this feature will be rolled out to other platforms, it seems like a natural fit for Android Auto.

Additionally, Scam Detection, a built-in Android feature that identifies potential scam calls and warns users with notifications, has been expanded to work within messages on Pixel 6 devices and above. This update also includes Support for Notification Summaries on the Pixel 9 and up, as well as prioritized message delivery to marked Pixel VIPs.

Lastly, Google has introduced a new seasonal theme pack called Wicked: For Good, accessible via a newly released Theme Packs app. While it utilizes existing options like wallpaper and icon settings, this tool offers convenience by allowing users to change all those settings at once. However, its introduction was accompanied by an ad, which might raise some eyebrows.

I gotta say, AI-powered photo editing in messaging is lowkey cool 🀩. But I'm a bit skeptical about Google's intention behind making it so viewable by everyone... what if it gets shared around the internet? Someone could edit a funny meme and share it with their friends without even realizing it πŸ˜‚. Still, Remix seems like a solid feature for those who want to get creative on the go πŸ’». And that Power Saving Mode in Google Maps is super useful - I was getting so tired of my phone dying mid-road trip πŸš—. How about they expand Scam Detection to other devices tho? I got some suspicious texts and it didn't warn me πŸ“±...

πŸ€” just the fact that they're expanding access to Gemini-powered photo editing on more platforms is a big deal... i mean, think about it, no longer limited to just android devices, it's gonna open up this whole new world of creativity for non-android users πŸ“Έ

i'm loving the new Power Saving Mode in Google Maps tho! πŸ”‹ four extra hours of battery life? that's like, game changing. and i love how they're prioritizing message delivery on marked Pixel VIPs πŸ“¨

but, gotta say, the Wicked: For Good theme pack intro ad was kinda weird... πŸ“Ί ads should be optional, you know? still cool that it's out tho πŸ‘

Ugh, what's the point of having AI-powered photo editing in a messaging app? Just think about how many times you'll accidentally send a remixed pic that looks nothing like the original to your friend πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. And don't even get me started on how it's going to be used for "fun" or whatever. I bet some people are already going to start sending weird pics of their exes πŸ˜’. And what about security? Are we sure this thing isn't a backdoor for hackers? πŸ€”

πŸ’¬ "The best way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." πŸ“±πŸ’» We're finally seeing Google's AI game strong πŸ’ͺ! The new Remix feature in their messaging app is a massive step forward for photo editing capabilities on Android devices πŸ‘, and the fact that it's now available on various platforms with RCS enabled is a major win πŸŽ‰. I'm loving how this feature makes edited images shareable across conversations πŸ‘«, and the integration with Google Photos? Genius 🀯! Now, about that Power Saving Mode in Google Maps... πŸ’‘ four more hours of battery life sounds like music to my ears 🎡! πŸ‘

man I'm loving the fact that google is making photo editing way more accessible, especially with remix in their messaging app 🀯 it's crazy how we used to have to use separate apps for that kinda thing back in 2020 πŸ“ΈπŸ’» now we can just edit pics directly in a chat and share 'em with anyone 🀝 doesn't sound like much but trust me it makes a difference πŸ‘

just saw google's new remix feature in their messaging app πŸ€” i think its gonna be super convenient for editing pics on the go but also kinda raises questions about data privacy πŸ“±πŸ’» what if remixed images end up being used against us somehow? and btw, who thought it was a good idea to add an ad to a theme packs app? πŸ™„

I'm not sure about Google's latest Remix feature... I mean, what's next? Editing pics in a convo is cool, but do we really need AI-powered photo editing in our messages? It feels like we're losing control over how our stuff gets shared. Plus, have you seen the ad that came with this new Theme Packs app? 🀣 It's all about looking good for a good cause, but at what cost? Can't they just stick to ads without shoving their brand in our face? And with RCS enabled on more platforms, I'm worried about security... are we sure our private pics are safe? πŸ˜’

Wow! πŸ‘€ This new Remix feature is gonna make messaging so much easier and fun! I mean, AI-powered photo editing in real-time? That's like something out of a movie! Interesting how it's not just limited to Android anymore... it's like Google wants everyone to be able to remix their photos no matter what device they're using 😊

omg just saw that Google's got a new Remix feature in their messaging app and I'm lowkey obsessed πŸ€©πŸ“Έ it's so cool that they're finally making photo editing accessible to more people...I mean, who doesn't love a good filter? πŸ˜‚ but seriously, this is gonna change the way we communicate online. no more awkward edited pics when you wanna send something funny or just want to make your fave person look cute πŸ€— and I'm loving that it's not limited to just android devices now! πŸ“±πŸ‘

I'm loving the idea of Remix in Google's messaging app! It's crazy how AI-powered photo editing can now be shared seamlessly across different platforms πŸ€–. No more worrying about compatibility issues or device limitations – it's all about effortless sharing and creativity πŸ’». But what really caught my attention is the integration with Google Photos, where you can add a smile to someone's face without having to reference past photos... it's like having a digital version of your favorite aunt who always knows how to make you smile 😊! Now, I'm not sure about the Power Saving Mode in Google Maps – will it come to other platforms? πŸ€” But hey, those extra four hours of battery life sound too good to pass up! πŸ’‘

I mean, can you imagine just messing around with a pic in a chat convo without having to leave the app? Remix is def a game changer for people who like to edit pics on the go 🀩. And it's cool that they're making it available on more platforms now, so even if you're not on Android, you can still use it. I also love how it's integrated with Google Photos - it makes it way easier to share pics with friends and get their attention without having to message them separately πŸ˜‚.

But what really got me is the new Power Saving Mode in Google Maps πŸš—. I mean, who hasn't been stuck on a long road trip or something and forgotten to charge their phone? This feature sounds like a lifesaver! And it's also awesome that they're expanding Scam Detection to messages - safety first, right? πŸ“ž.

One thing that did throw me off was the new Theme Packs app and the ad in it. I get what Google is trying to do, but sometimes less is more, you know? Still, it's nice to have all those settings at our fingertips 🎨.

I'm so down for AI-powered photo editing in messaging apps... but think about the implications πŸ€”. Now that anyone can see remixed pics, I guess people are gonna start sharing more 'candid' moments without consent? And what's with Google trying to make money off this? They're basically selling us ads on our own messages πŸ€‘. Not to mention, they're just making it easier for scammers to create fake pics of friends and family πŸ€₯. And don't even get me started on the new Power Saving Mode in Google Maps... what's next? Is that gonna be a premium feature or something πŸ˜’?

I'm low-key loving the new Remix feature 🀩 - AI-powered photo editing in messaging apps is a total game changer! No more relying on third-party apps or waiting for a specific device to catch up... now everyone can enjoy those sick edits πŸ“Έ. I can imagine it's gonna be a major hit, especially with the addition of RCS enabled platforms... it's like Google is saying, "Hey, we gotchu!" 😊

πŸ˜’ Another AI takeover πŸ€–. First, they're ruining our chat experiences with AI-powered photo editing in Remix, now they're gonna ruin everything with Theme Packs... I mean, who needs a one-stop shop for settings when you can just deal with ads? πŸ€‘ And what's the point of Power Saving Mode if it's just gonna be exclusive to Android Auto? πŸ€” At least Google Photos is trying to do something right by using past labelled photos to make photo edits easier... but still, another thing they're doing that we have to 'remix' our lives for πŸ“ΈπŸ˜©

I'm telling you, something fishy is going on with Google's new Remix feature πŸ€”πŸ“Έ. It sounds like a great idea, but what's really going on? Are they just making it more accessible to users or are they trying to control the narrative too much? I mean, think about it - this feature uses AI-powered photo editing and makes remixed images viewable by anyone in the conversation. That's not very private 🀐. And now, it's being incorporated into Google Photos... what's next? Are they going to track our faces and expressions in every single picture we take? πŸ‘€ It's all about the data collection, folks 😳.

OMG I'm so stoked about the new Remix feature!!! 🀩 It's gonna make our chat game even stronger with the AI-powered photo editing capabilities 😍! I love that it's expanding access to Gemini-powered tools beyond just Android devices - now we can all enjoy those sick edits regardless of what phone we're using πŸ“±πŸ’– Can't wait to get creative and send some fire remixed pics to my squad πŸ’•

omg u wont believe how cool this new remix feature is!!! 🀯 it lets me edit pics in a convo without havin to leave the chat lol now i can be more creative with my classmates during online discussions πŸ“šπŸ‘« but its not just for fun, it also has ai powers so i can make edits without knowin what im doin πŸ˜‚ and google photos is gettin even smarter too, it can recognize who's in pics and add smileys to their faces πŸ‘ like magic! 🎩

omg I cant believe google is finally bringing remix to more platforms πŸ€―πŸ“± i mean it was only android devices that could use it and now we can edit pics in chat on any device with RCS enabled its like magic πŸ’« and the fact that remixed images can be sent via mms is genius lol I'm hyped for this new update on google maps tho, power saving mode sounds like a game changer πŸ˜΄πŸ“Š

πŸ€”πŸ“Έ So they're finally bringing AI photo editing to more people 🌎 I mean, imagine being able to fix up a pic of your bae in a split sec πŸ˜‚ and then sharing it with all your squad πŸ‘«πŸ’¬ The Remix feature is like a game changer for social media πŸ“± and I'm hyped to see how this changes the way we interact online πŸ’»

But what's really cool is that they're making it work across different platforms 🌈 so now everyone can play with AI-powered photo editing regardless of what phone they use πŸ“±πŸ‘ It's like leveling up for all users! 😎
