Sahara Express owner Zeana Attisha expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join the Hollywood Casino's culinary lineup, stating that this location allows them to "introduce our flavors to new guests in a fast, convenient way without compromising authenticity." The menu will feature classic dishes like chicken shawarma and beef kafta, as well as build-your-own bowls for added variety.
The Attisha family has been serving Detroit-style cuisine since 1981, with the original Sahara restaurant opening in Ferndale. Since then, additional locations have sprouted up in Detroit, Oak Park, and Sterling Heights.
Hollywood Casino at Greektown General Manager John Drake welcomed Sahara Express to the Monroe Market lineup, citing their trusted brand reputation in Michigan as a draw for visitors looking for cultural flavor. The new location will be open from noon-1 a.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and noon-3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

THEY'RE KEEPING IT FAST CASUAL BUT STILL PACKED WITH ALL THE GOOD STUFF LIKE CHICKEN SHAWARMA AND BEEF KATFA! AND I LOVE THAT THEY'RE OFFERING BUILD-YOUR-own BOWLS TOO!!!
