Sky Sports to remain home of Ryder Cup and DP World Tour until 2029 under new rights extension

Sky Sports has secured a new deal to remain the home of golf in the UK and Ireland until at least 2029. The agreement will see Sky Sports continue to broadcast all four men's majors and five women's majors exclusively live, as well as providing unrivalled coverage of the DP World Tour.

Under the terms of the new partnership, which extends from 2026, Sky Sports viewers will be treated to exclusive coverage of the next two instalments of the Ryder Cup. The 2027 event at Adare Manor in Ireland and the 2029 tournament at Hazeltine in the United States are among the events that will be broadcast exclusively on Sky.

The deal is a significant win for Sky Sports, which has seen record numbers of sports fans tuning in to watch golf coverage during 2025. The new agreement follows a historic Ryder Cup victory for Team Europe at Bethpage Black, which was watched by millions and proved why it remains one of the most compelling events in world sport.

DP World Tour chief executive Guy Kinnings said that the deal is a testament to the appeal of golf to fans around the world. "As golf's global Tour, our unparalleled diversity of locations and players is really resonating with fans," he said. "With the storytelling prowess of Sky Sports for four more years, we're well set to continue growing our fan base."

Sky Sports' Chief Sports Officer Jonathan Licht said that extending their partnership with the DP World Tour was a strategic move at a time when golf viewership is reaching record heights. "Extending our long-standing partnership comes at a time when golf's global audience is on the rise," he said. "We look forward to bringing fans the next two Ryder Cups and continuing to grow our fan base."

I'm not surprised Sky Sports landed this deal, golf has been really popular lately ๐Ÿ˜Š. But I do think it's a bit concerning that they're getting all the majors and women's events for four more years. It feels like some of the smaller tournaments might be getting left out. On the other hand, it is exciting to hear they'll be showing the next two Ryder Cups live ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The DP World Tour has definitely been growing in popularity, so it makes sense that Sky Sports would want to keep their coverage up to date. Still, I wish there was more emphasis on getting new talent into the sport...

I'm loving this news! ๐Ÿคฉ Sky Sports getting the rights to golf in the UK and Ireland for another 3 years is a dream come true for golf fans! The fact that they're gonna broadcast all four men's majors and five women's majors live, plus some exclusive Ryder Cup coverage... it's like we're treated to the ultimate golfing experience every year ๐ŸŒณ. And with record numbers of viewers tuning in already, I think Sky Sports is making the right move by locking down this deal ๐Ÿค‘. It's great to hear that the DP World Tour is feeling the love too - their commitment to diversity and storytelling is only adding to the appeal of golf for fans worldwide ๐Ÿ’–. Bring on 2026 and the new-look golf coverage! โšก๏ธ

I'm telling you, there's something fishy about this deal... ๐Ÿค‘ Sky Sports just so happens to get all these exclusive rights to golf coverage around the same time that they're investing big bucks into their own streaming platform, right? It's like they're trying to lock in a captive audience. And what's with all these events being broadcast exclusively on Sky? What if it's not really about bringing fans the content, but rather building up a monopoly on golf coverage in the UK and Ireland? I mean, have you seen the weird stuff going on with some of those major tournaments lately... just saying ๐Ÿค”

๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ so i think its pretty cool that sky sports has scored this massive deal for golf coverage in the uk and ireland ๐ŸŽ‰ but like you can't help but wonder why it had to be extended just until 2029? feels like sky sports should be all about live streaming every tournament possible ๐Ÿ“บ anyway, gotta give props to guy kinnings and team europe for that awesome ryder cup win last year ๐Ÿ‘ and i guess its true that golf fans are really growing in numbers worldwide, but i think we're still missing some key coverage of major tournaments ๐Ÿค” like the majors for women's golf or younger pro tours ๐ŸŒŸ

omg i'm so stoked about this new deal between sky sports and the dp world tour ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ! golf has been getting so much love lately and it's awesome to see sky sports investing more in covering those major tournaments. exclusive coverage of the ryder cup events at adare manor and hazeltine is going to be lit ๐Ÿ’ฅ! i mean, who doesn't love a good battle between europe and america? ๐Ÿ˜ and with record numbers of fans tuning in already, it's clear that golf is becoming a mainstream sport ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ‘. can't wait to see the coverage come together on sky sports ๐Ÿ“บ

I'm so stoked for all you golfies out there ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿ˜Š! It's amazing to hear that Sky Sports has secured a new deal to broadcast all those major tournaments live, especially those exclusive events like the Ryder Cup. I mean, who doesn't love watching their favorite players compete in person? ๐Ÿ’ช It's so great to see how passionate the fans are about golf, and it's awesome that Sky Sports is committed to bringing us even more coverage of this incredible sport.

And I have to say, I'm loving the growth of women's golf too ๐Ÿคฉ! The fact that there will be five women's majors broadcast live on Sky Sports is just fantastic. It's so inspiring to see all these talented female players out there giving it their all, and I know I'm not alone in my enthusiasm ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I'm also loving the fact that this deal comes at a time when golf viewership is reaching record heights ๐Ÿ“ˆ! I think we're going to see some amazing things on the course over the next few years. Bring it on, 2026-2029, let's get ready for some epic golf action ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ฅ

Ugh, Sky Sports getting even more exclusive deals... who gets left out? ๐Ÿ™„ Anyway, I guess it's not all bad - more golf for us non-enthusiasts. The fact that they're covering all four men's majors live is a nice touch. I mean, can you imagine watching the Open Championship without some fancy Sky Sports commentary? ๐Ÿ˜ด It's good to know they're gonna keep bringing us those epic Ryder Cup battles too... and who doesn't love Adare Manor, right? ๐Ÿฐ But, let's be real, if I want to watch golf, I'll just put on a playlist of Patrick Reed's most cringeworthy moments ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I'm loving this new deal between Sky Sports and the DP World Tour! ๐Ÿ™Œ It's amazing how the Ryder Cup has become one of the most exciting events in golf - I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a bunch of guys smashing balls around? ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, it's awesome that they're going to have exclusive coverage of the next two Ryder Cups. I'm curious to see how the 2027 event at Adare Manor is going to be. And let's not forget about the women's majors - it's great that Sky Sports is committed to broadcasting all five of them live.

I think this deal is a win for golf fans in general, especially with record numbers tuning in to watch coverage. It just goes to show how popular golf has become globally. And I love what Guy Kinnings said about the diversity of locations and players resonating with fans - it's so true! Golf may not be as flashy as other sports, but its appeal is undeniable.

Anyway, I'm hyped for the next few years of golf coverage on Sky Sports. Bring on the tournaments! ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm super stoked ๐Ÿคฉ about Sky Sports' new deal! They're gonna bring us so much more awesome golf content ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ from 2026 onwards, including the next two Ryder Cup events ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช. The fact that they'll be showing all four men's majors and five women's majors live is a total game-changer ๐Ÿ“บ for us golf fans. And let's not forget about the DP World Tour - it's so cool to see them getting more exposure ๐ŸŒŽ. The viewership numbers are already crazy high, so I'm guessing this deal will just make things even crazier ๐Ÿ˜…. Sky Sports has really hit a hole-in-one with this partnership ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘!

im so hyped about this new deal, it's like sky sports just won the lotto ๐Ÿค‘ they're getting all the major golf tournaments live, plus the ryder cup which is always a biggie. i mean, who doesn't love watching golf on tv, especially with the rise of the dp world tour. it's awesome that fans are tuning in and stuff. the deal is also good for sky sports, they get to keep showing all this epic content to their viewers ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ just thinking about how golf has grown in popularity over the years and now Sky Sports gets to keep broadcasting it ๐Ÿ“บ I'm not really sure if it's a good or bad thing that they're getting to show more of the Ryder Cup though... wasn't there some controversy last time it was held? ๐Ÿค”

omg, yaaas!!! sky sports just got the best deal ever! they get to keep showing us all the crazy golf tournaments ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ and now they'll even have access to exclusive coverage of the ryder cup ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ those events are gonna be so lit!!! ๐Ÿ’ฅ and i'm loving how dp world tour is growing its fan base ๐Ÿ“ˆ it's all thanks to sky sports and their awesome team ๐Ÿ™Œ keep up the good work, guys! ๐Ÿ‘

lol what's up with this new deal, right? ๐Ÿค” so they're basically locking down Sky Sports as the only place to watch golf in the UK and Ireland for another 3 years... that sounds like a total info dump to me. I mean, no other channels can compete? it's like they're silencing dissent or something ๐Ÿ˜. but at the same time, i guess if they're getting record numbers of viewers tuning in during 2025, that's some kinda achievement ๐Ÿ“Š. the thing is, what's really driving this growth in golf viewership? is it just the majors and DP World Tour, or is there more to it than that? ๐Ÿค

I'm so stoked for all the young golfers out there ๐ŸŽพ! It's awesome that Sky Sports is giving them the coverage they deserve. I mean, who wouldn't want to see the Ryder Cup on their TV every year? ๐Ÿ“บ But seriously, it's great to see record numbers tuning in - maybe one of them will be my mini-me on the course soon ๐Ÿ˜‚. And can we talk about how cool is for DP World Tour to be growing its fan base with Sky Sports on board? It's like they're leveling up their game ๐Ÿš€! I just hope all these young pros are treated well by their sponsors and get to enjoy the fruits of their labor ๐Ÿด

๐Ÿค” Like, what's the point of these deals? Sky Sports just gonna milk us for more cash while the actual players are getting who-knows-what kinda sponsorship. And 2027 already? Adare Manor's like 10 years old, can't they just move it somewhere else to keep it fresh? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Also, what about the fans who can't afford a new TV package every time Sky gets all exclusive? Just great, now we'll be stuck with subpar streams again... ๐Ÿ˜’

๐ŸŒŸ just saw that sky sports got this huge deal for golf coverage ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ and i'm kinda surprised it's not a bigger shock, honestly! ๐Ÿ˜… they've been doing so well with the dp world tour and the ryder cup, it makes sense they'd want to keep it. 2027's at adare manor in ireland and 2029's at hazeltine in the states are gonna be lit ๐ŸŽ‰ gotta love how far golf's come as a sport, and now we get even more exclusive coverage! ๐Ÿ‘

Yaaas, I'm so hyped about this new deal between Sky Sports and the DP World Tour! ๐Ÿคฉ It's awesome that they're gonna keep us golf fans entertained for another 4 years. The fact that we get to watch all four men's majors and five women's majors live is a major win (pun intended ๐Ÿ˜‚). And I love how they're putting more emphasis on exclusive coverage of the Ryder Cup, one of the most thrilling events in golf. The fact that Sky Sports is investing so much time and money into this partnership is clear - they know how to make their fans happy! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿค” So they're saying golf is really gaining traction in the UK and Ireland? I mean, it's been growing in popularity for years now, but a record number of sports fans tuning in to watch golf coverage in 2025? That's definitely interesting... where exactly did that info come from? ๐Ÿ“ฐ Sources anyone?
