South Carolina woman Dana Kinlaw fatally shot, set on fire after she was ambushed by trio during meeting to buy puppy

In South Carolina, A Woman's Ambush Ends in Tragic Fire

On January 22, Dana Kinlaw's life was cut short when she was ambushed by three suspects, who then set her body on fire inside a car. The incident occurred in rural Effingham County, where Kinlaw had stopped with two accomplices to allegedly buy a puppy.

According to authorities, the trio of suspects lured Kinlaw into a meeting under false pretenses, with 19-year-old Iryanna Jarissa Fleming and 31-year-old Daquinn Taheen Thomas being named as the primary suspects. They were joined by Nikko Christopher Carraway, who was later arrested.

The ambush allegedly took place near Atlantic Road in Springbranch Road, where Kinlaw had driven with Fleming. Witnesses claim that the suspects shot Kinlaw before setting her body on fire inside the car. The vehicle was discovered still engulfed in flames by deputies, who found a human body inside.

Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken has identified the remains as those of Dana Kinlaw. Her body is currently undergoing an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The motive behind the murder appears to be linked to another killing 35 miles away in Darlington County, involving Kinlaw's son. Authorities believe that a retaliation murder occurred.

Both Thomas and Carraway have been charged with murder, first-degree arson, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Their accomplice, Iryanna Jarissa Fleming, has also been arrested on similar charges.

The two men had previously faced multiple criminal cases in Florence County, including attempted murder charges and armed robbery cases. Thomas was sentenced to prison just last year for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Kinlaw's tragic death serves as a reminder of the brutal consequences that can arise from false pretenses and a desire for revenge.

πŸ€•πŸ’” So sad what happened to Dana Kinlaw. It's like, three people planned this ambush and now she's gone πŸ’€. The motive is linked to her son getting killed 35 miles away... it's like they wanted revenge πŸ’£. I'm so sick of these senseless killings 😒.

Here's a simple diagram πŸ“:

I just wish there was more we could do to prevent these kinds of incidents πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

I don’t usually comment but it’s really sad what happened to Dana Kinlaw πŸ€•. I mean, who would have thought that something like this could happen in a place where you go to buy a puppy with your friends? It's just so senseless. The fact that they set her body on fire is just horrific 😱. I think it's really interesting how the police are trying to figure out if there was any connection between this crime and Kinlaw's son getting killed 35 miles away... it's like, what even led them down this path? πŸ€”

idk why ppl r so shocked by this kinda thing lol πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ anyway, have u ever noticed how some restaurants r just too perfect? like they got those fake trees in the window & everything πŸŒ³πŸ‘€ i mean, how r they gonna keep it up? is it just a bunch of props or what?

idk why ppl get all shook up over 1 guy or girl getting ambushed like dat. i mean, yeah, its super messed up & Dana Kinlaw didnt deserve to die like that πŸ€• but u gotta think about the motive behind it. her son was killed 35 miles away... thats some crazy revenge right there 😬. these ppl r being charged with murder & arson & all that... but idk if they should be locked up for life or what kinda punishment would even make sense in this case πŸ€”

Ugh πŸ€• this is just so senseless! I mean, what even is the point of setting someone on fire? Like, it's not like it was gonna make the killer feel any better or anything 😩. And the fact that they set her body on fire inside a car... that's just so inhumane 🀒. You can't even imagine how traumatic that must have been for the witnesses who found her like that πŸ”₯.

And the motive behind it all? Revenge because of some other person getting killed 35 miles away? Like, yeah, we get it, people can get pretty angry when they feel wronged... but killing and setting someone on fire is never the answer πŸ’”. It's just so frustrating that this kind of thing still happens in our country 🀯.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little surprised the guy who was already in prison for possessing a firearm as a felon got out to commit another heinous crime... like, shouldn't we be focusing on rehabilitation over revenge? πŸ™„ Anyway, yeah, this whole thing is just so sad and disturbing πŸ˜”.

This is so messed up 🀯, 3 people involved in the ambush & they're gonna pay big time... or at least I hope so πŸ’β€β™€οΈ, can't believe Kinlaw's son was killed by one of these guys, family tragedy just keeps piling up 😩. These suspects had a history of crimes and now they're facing serious charges... justice is being served in some form but it's all so sad πŸ™, hope the Medical University of South Carolina gets the answers they need from Kinlaw's autopsy πŸ’€

😱 this is so sad... i cant believe someone would do something like that to a woman who was just trying to buy a puppy 🐢... it's just crazy how these people can be so cruel and think they can get away with murder πŸ”₯... the police are doing their best to catch the bad guys, but it's just not fair to Dana or her family πŸ’”... i hope justice is served soon πŸ’―

πŸ˜” OMG u guys this is soooo sad Dana Kinlaw was like 1 life lost to senseless violence & now her son is dealing with the aftermath its just heartbreaking thinking about those family members who have to live with this trauma πŸ’”πŸ‘§ my heart goes out to them πŸ‘« the fact that they were lured into a meeting by ppl who wanted revenge over another murder is just awful 🀯 these people r sick & need help getting their lives together ASAP πŸ’ͺ

man... this is just heartbreaking πŸ€•. think about it, a woman stops on her way to buy a puppy with some accomplices, and suddenly she's caught in the crossfire of a violent crime. what was she even thinking? that stopping at a random spot would make everything okay? or was she just trying to escape her problems? this whole thing is like a tragic reminder that sometimes, no matter how hard we try to control our lives, fate can still catch up with us.

and now, the people responsible are paying the ultimate price... but at what cost? did they really think that killing someone would be enough to make their problems go away? or were they just desperate and didn't know any better? this whole thing is like a never-ending cycle of violence, where no one comes out unscathed. it's like, we're all just trying to navigate our lives, but sometimes the world just seems too big and too dark. πŸ’”

πŸ˜±πŸ’” this is so devastating, like what even is going on with these people? 😩 they were just trying to buy a puppy and ended up getting ambushed & set on fire πŸš’πŸ˜¨ i feel like we're living in some kind of crazy movie where anything can happen. the fact that there was already another killing connected to Kinlaw's son makes me think this wasn't just a random act... it's all so senseless πŸ’”. at least now justice is being served, though - those two suspects are behind bars, and hopefully they'll get what's coming to them 🚫

πŸ€• My heart goes out to Dana Kinlaw's family and loved ones, this is such a senseless tragedy... 3 people could've been walking by and got caught up in this mess instead. It's just too much for me to even think about the pain they're going through. πŸ’” I can only imagine how scared she must've felt when she was ambushed and set on fire, it's like a nightmare that you never wake up from. 😩 The fact that her son got killed 35 miles away in retaliation is just heartbreaking... these senseless crimes need to stop! 🚫

I don't think this is a case of someone getting what they deserved, I mean we're just seeing more of the same old cycle of violence. It's crazy that these guys were arrested for stuff like attempted murder and armed robbery, but it seems like they got away with it for years... anyway, now they get to spend their life in prison, which is a little too satisfying if you ask me πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg u cant even imagine whats going on in this world... 3 ppl lured woman into car with puppy deal thinkin they cud get away w/ murder & fire... but karma caught up wit da fact dat Kinlaws son was killed 35 miles down da line so now those 2 r facin murder charges and armed robbery too... cant believe how senseless this is... all cuz of revenge & greed πŸ€―πŸ’”

OMG πŸ˜±πŸ’” this is sooooo sad! my heart goes out 2 Dana Kinlaw & her fam πŸ€— I cant even imagine how scary it must've been 4 her 2 b ambushed n then set on fire in a car 😩!! those suspects r so evil πŸ’£ i mean, who does that? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ & to think they thought she'd be fine just because she was buying a puppy πŸΆπŸ‘€πŸ˜’ my prayers go out 2 her fam during this really hard time πŸ’•

πŸš¨πŸ’” it's so sad what happened to Dana Kinlaw, I mean can you even imagine walking down the road with friends thinking everything is cool and then BAM! 😱 three people just start shooting at you? no way... and to make matters worse they set your body on fire... like, what's wrong with humans, can't we all just get along?! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ the fact that this was a retaliation for her son getting killed is just crazy, it's like, why do these things happen?! 😩 and now there are two guys in jail who have a lot of history, I guess they'll rot away in there... my heart goes out to Dana's family πŸŒΉπŸ’•

πŸ˜” I feel so bad for Dana Kinlaw, she was just a normal person who got caught up in this mess. I don't think it's fair to label these guys as evil or monsters, they've all got their own stories and struggles. Daquinn Thomas has been through some tough stuff, including being a convicted felon, and Nikko Carraway's family might be feeling the impact of his arrest too... Iryanna Jarissa Fleming's young age is really sad to think about, she was basically pulled into this situation by her friends. Maybe we can learn from this tragedy that false pretenses and revenge only lead to more suffering? πŸ€•
