Spalletti splits Napoli and Højlund downs Juve: welcome to Serie A Bizarro World | Nicky Bandini

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti faced a hostile reception from his own fans after switching allegiances to Juventus, the team he has managed since leaving Napoli. The city's Stadio Maradona was filled with whistles and boos as Spalletti walked onto the pitch for the first time in 18 months, prompting a heated exchange between him and some of the supporters.

Spalletti's defection from Napoli to Juventus was seen as a betrayal by many of the club's fans, who had grown accustomed to his passionate leadership during their Serie A title win last season. However, others were more understanding, recognizing that Spalletti needed a fresh start after being sacked by Italy following a disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign.

Meanwhile, Napoli's coach Antonio Conte was instrumental in Napoli's 2-1 victory over Juventus, with midfielder Rasmus Højlund scoring the decisive goal in the seventh minute. The Danish striker had previously struggled to find his form at Napoli but seems to have rediscovered his confidence under Conte's guidance.

Conte has been credited with transforming Napoli's attacking play, allowing wingers like Giovanni Di Lorenzo and David Neres to push higher up the pitch and create scoring opportunities. Neres has been in particular form, scoring five goals in his last four World Cup qualifiers for Denmark and netting twice against Juventus on Sunday.

Despite Spalletti's complicated past with Napoli fans, he expressed gratitude towards Conte and his team after the match, acknowledging that he had worked hard to rebuild Napoli's squad during his tenure as manager. However, the issue of Spalletti's departure will likely linger in Naples for some time, leaving a complex web of emotions among the club's supporters.

The Serie A table currently stands at 1-2-3-4-5 with Napoli and Inter Milan leading the pack, followed by AC Milan, Roma, Bologna, and Como. The season is still young, but it remains to be seen whether Juventus can mount a successful challenge for the title.

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." 🚀
I think Spalletti's move from Napoli to Juventus was a necessary step for him to grow as a manager, and now he needs to prove himself all over again in a different city.
Conte's tactical changes have been spot on, giving Napoli an edge they never had before. The team's confidence is boosted with Neres's incredible form 🤩
The fans will take time to forgive Spalletti, but it's not about him, it's about the club and its future. As for Juventus, they need to find a way to overcome their struggles and catch up with Napoli and Inter at the top of the table 💪

I mean, Spalletti's move to Juventus was kinda fair since he got sacked from Italy, right? I guess he needed a change of scenery and a fresh start 🤔. But, at the same time, it feels like he just up and left Napoli after winning the league with them last season... that's gotta sting some fans 🤷‍♂️.

And Conte, man, he's been doing a great job revitalizing Napoli's squad, no doubt about it 💪. Neres is on fire! But, can Juventus really keep up this pace? I mean, they've got some talented players but they're gonna need to stay focused if they wanna challenge for the title 🔥.

I don't know, maybe Spalletti just wasn't meant to be a Napoli legend after all... maybe he's good at Juventus and that's what matters 💯. Or maybe Napoli fans are being too harsh? I'm torn about this whole thing 🤷‍♂️.

I feel so bad for Spalletti, he's getting roasted by his own fans... 🤕 that was super awkward on the pitch! I get why some people would be salty since he just left Napoli after leading them to the league win last season. But I think Conte and Napoli did a great job in beating Juventus 2-1, especially with Højlund scoring that decisive goal 😅. Conte's coaching skills are really paying off for Napoli, and Neres is on fire! 🚀 Como and Bologna are doing well in the bottom three though, maybe they can turn things around? 🤞

🤔 Spalletti's defection to Juventus is like a major plot twist in any movie... I mean, you never see that happening, especially when your fans are so invested in you and the team. It's understandable that he needed a fresh start after being sacked by Italy, but it's still tough for Napoli fans to swallow.

I think Conte did a great job transforming Napoli's attacking play and giving his players more freedom to express themselves on the pitch. That Rasmus Højlund is on fire! 🚀 And Neres is a genius... I mean, who wouldn't want a striker scoring goals left and right? 😂

The Serie A table is looking pretty competitive this season, with several teams vying for the top spot. Juventus has its work cut out for it to mount a successful challenge, but hey, you never know what can happen in football... 😉

🤔 I feel so bad for Luciano Spalletti, he's gonna have an uphill battle in Naples now 🏃‍♂️. All those whistles and boos must've been super hurtful 😩. But you gotta respect him for taking a risk and moving to Juventus, even if it means facing some backlash from Napoli fans 🤷‍♂️. Antonio Conte's done an amazing job with Napoli, transforming their attacking play and getting them back on track 🔥. And Rasmus Højlund's form is insane right now ⚡️! Can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds 📺.

OMG you guys I'm literally loving how passionate Napoli fans are about their team its crazy to see how much of an emotional rollercoaster they go through lol 🤯🏆 I mean, I get why Spalletti's departure would be hurtful especially after leading them to a title win last season, but it's also super inspiring to see how much energy Conte and his team are bringing to the pitch with that 2-1 win over Juventus! 🎉🔥 The stats on Neres are insane and I'm loving the way he's finding his form again under Conte's guidance 💪🏼👍

🤔 Spalletti's defection to Juventus was always gonna cause drama 💥. His Napoli fans feel betrayed, but some get it 🙏. Conte's done a great job revitalizing Napoli 🚀!

😒 So I gotta feel for these Napoli fans, man... They invested so much emotional energy into Spalletti's management style, and now that he's gone, they're feeling pretty betrayed 🤕. Like, I get it, change is hard, but if someone needs a fresh start, you know? 💯 Conte seems like the real MVP right now, btw 🙌 - that Danish striker Rasmus Højlund just went from zero to hero 🔥 under his guidance! 🎉 Napoli's attack has gotten way more lethal since Conte took over. And Juventus? They've got some serious work to do if they wanna challenge for the title ⚔️. My money's on Inter Milan and Napoli to come out on top 💸

Ugh I'm literally shocked about Spalletti's departure from Napoli 🤯... I mean I get it he needed a change, but 18 months of constant whistles and boos? That's some harsh stuff 😩. On one hand I feel bad for him, who wouldn't want to be booed by their own fans? But on the other hand, Spalletti kinda burned his bridges there... or at least in Naples 🏙️.

The thing that really got me was Conte and Napoli's performance against Juventus though ⚽️. They totally dominated them! I'm loving the new Napoli squad with Neres on fire 🔥. It's like they've finally found their footing under Conte. But can Spalletti still redeem himself at Juventus? 🤔 The Serie A table is looking stacked this season, and if Juventus want to make a push for the title, they're gonna need some serious magic ✨.

What do you guys think about all this? Do you think Spalletti's departure will affect his success at Juventus, or is he just going to prove everyone wrong again 🤷‍♂️?
