Stellan Skarsgård Crashes Two Alexander Skarsgård Sketches on ‘SNL,’ Playing a Screaming Dad and a Goofy Dramatic Actor

Stellan Skarsgård Crashes Two Alexander Skarsgård Sketches on 'SNL'

In his hosting debut on "Saturday Night Live", Alexander Skarsgård was joined by his father, Stellan Skarsgård, in a series of sketches that showcased their comedic chemistry. The Swedish acting duo traded barbs and laughs, playing off each other's public images.

During the show, Alexander kept a low profile when discussing his own projects, including new films "Pillion" and "The Moment", opting instead to mime playing the saxophone along with the "SNL" band in his monologue. This contrasted with Stellan Skarsgård's recent success in "Sentimental Value", which Alexander seemed to poke fun at by playing a character who couldn't help but cut up between takes, laughing at the absurdity of the story and their situation.

In one sketch, Alexander played a stoic Finn whose only memory of affection from his father was accidentally touching knees in a sauna. The scene escalated when Stellan Skarsgård burst into the set, screaming "The shame is yours! Live with it!" - a moment that subverted expectations and showcased the pair's comedic rapport.

Cardi B also made an appearance in this sketch, playing the wife of Marcello Hernández, who was trying to keep his smoking habit under control. In a hilarious twist, Cardi grabbed the cigarette out of Hernández's hand and declared herself a potential future host - adding another layer of humor to the episode.

I'm so done with these "family man" comedians 🙄. Like, what's the deal with Alexander Skarsgård doing all this miming in his monologue? It was just awkward and forced. And Stellan Skarsgård's 'sentimental' movie being mocked on live TV? Come on, can't they just let their dad have his moment in the spotlight for once? 🙃 The fact that Cardi B showed up unannounced as a wisecracking future host was actually kinda cool, though. Maybe we're seeing a new pattern emerge – these celebrity families being played by each other? It's like they're trying to out-weird each other...

omg what a epic family moment 🤣 i loved how alexander kept it lowkey on his own projects but totally smashed it in the sketches, especially that sauna sketch where stellan just lost it lol his reaction was priceless 😂 and cardi b's cameo was a total game changer 💥 alexander & stellan really brought out the comedy in each other, it's clear they have a ton of experience working together 👏 but what i liked most was how alexander didn't try to steal the spotlight (too much) when his dad took over, he just played along and had fun with it 🤜🤛

omg i love how alexander & stellan skarsgård killed it on snl together 🤣🎤 their chemistry was everything! alexander playing the saxophone in his monologue had me dying lol and that one sketch with him as a stoic finn who only remembers affection from his dad through accidentally touching knees in a sauna was so ridiculous & funny 😂💦 stellan's outburst was pure perfection too, i loved how they subverted expectations 🤯 the addition of cardi b in another sketch was amazing, she added that extra layer of humor 💁‍♀️🔥

🤔 I'm not buying that Alexander didn't have any questions for his dad during their sketches. A whole monologue just to mime playing saxophone? Come on, Stellan was there to help promote "Sentimental Value" and what does he get in return is some good-natured jokes at the expense of his own film? It seems like Alexander wanted to be the comedic lead without actually doing any real promoting. I need more context or an interview with Stellan himself about their creative process to fully believe this was a genuine collaboration 💁‍♂️

omg i loved this sketch with stellan & alex! the way they played off each other was so perfect 🤣 the sauna scene had me dying, and that scream from stellan Skarsgård was everything 😂 also, cardi b's cameo added such a nice bit of surprise to the episode - it was like she just crashed one of their sketches too! 👯‍♀️ anyhoo, i think what really made this host debut special was how alex kept his own projects under wraps while stellan got to be the center of attention 🤷‍♂️ either way, the chemistry between those two was undeniable 💥

lol what's up with these Skarsgård dads? their sketches on SNL were hella funny, but alexander was kinda quiet about his own projects 🤔 meanwhile stellan just roasted him all over the place 😂 especially that sauna sketch was fire 🚿 cardi b even crashed the party and stole the show 💁‍♀️ i gotta say tho, it's been a while since i've seen a family dynamic on stage like this 👪
