Story of Delco man last seen on Christmas 2017 retold on 'The Vanished' podcast

A Mysterious Christmas Disappearance Sparks New Investigation

Nearly eight years have passed since David Horn Jr., a 37-year-old Delaware County man, vanished into thin air on Christmas Eve in 2017. In the latest episode of the popular true crime podcast "The Vanished," Horn's family shares their heart-wrenching story, and investigators are re-examining the case.

Horn was last seen leaving Connolly's Pub in Marcus Hook around 5 pm on December 25th, where he had stopped to grab a drink before the Eagles game against the Raiders. However, when his father arrived at his house in Trainer later that evening, everything seemed normal - with the TV still on and Horn's truck parked in the driveway. But what was disturbing was the smashed window and signs of blood inside.

Despite an initial lack of suspicion from police, Horn's loved ones have struggled to comprehend the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. His family reveals that they believe foul play may be involved, citing concerns over a biker gang rumor and potential connections to his mother's sudden death in January 2018.

"It's all speculation, so they don't want to speculate anything, but they also don't want to investigate anything either," says Tim Horn, David's cousin. "It's just like he's a drunk, he could be a nuisance, now he's gone, so let's move on."

The episode delves into the inconsistencies in Horn's final days, including his canceled Uber ride and how he would not have walked back to Connolly's Pub in the cold. His ex-girlfriend also reveals that she remembers him ordering multiple Uber rides when they were together.

As the investigation continues, Horn's family is urging anyone with information about his disappearance to come forward. If you have any details or concerns about David Horn Jr.'s case, contact the Trainer Borough Police Department at 610-494-7399.

OMG 🀯 I'm like totally freaking out over this Christmas disappearance thingy... 8 years is like forever!!! David Horn Jr.'s case is super puzzling, especially with the biker gang rumor and his mom's death being so suspicious... πŸ€” I mean, wouldn't that be a major red flag for the cops? But they were all like "nah, he's just a drunk" which is so not fair to his family... πŸ˜” And what's up with the smashed window and blood signs?! That's straight creepy dude! πŸ‘» Can someone please share some info about this case so we can finally get answers?! πŸ™

🚨 I just listened to the latest podcast about David Horn Jr.'s disappearance and it's so sad... 8 years is way too long for someone to be missing and not even a body turned up! πŸ˜” The biker gang rumor and his mom's sudden death are definitely some weird twists, but you can't help feeling that there's more to the story than what we know. πŸ€” I'm glad the police are re-examining the case, maybe someone out there knows something they haven't told anyone yet? πŸ™ The family is right, it's all just speculation, but it's hard not to wonder what happened to him... πŸ‘Ž

omg u guys i'm literally shook rn i cant believe david horn jr still hasnt been found lol his fam is just so stressed about it i feel like i would be too πŸ˜©πŸ€• i dont know what to think about the biker gang thing tho couldnt they just check if he was involved with them πŸ€” but at the same time u have to wonder what really happened to him especially since his ex said he ordered multiple uber rides when they were together that's weird πŸš—πŸ’” i hope they find out whats going on and can finally give his fam some answers πŸ™πŸŽ„

πŸ˜’ I'm not convinced by the whole story here... like, what's up with the smashed window and blood? That doesn't add up πŸ€”. And if his family is saying they think foul play might be involved, but don't want to investigate, that just raises more questions 🚨. They're basically saying "let's move on" from the whole thing? Like, what about justice for David? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I need to see some real leads and not just speculation πŸ“. Can we get some actual evidence here? πŸ”

πŸ€” I mean think about it... eight years is a long time, man. A whole lotta memories, experiences, and what-ifs just got lost in the shuffle. This story hits close to home, you know? It makes me wonder how we can keep moving on when someone's life just stops like that. We gotta take a step back and really think about our priorities, I guess. Is it just about keeping things "normal" or is it about seeking answers, finding closure? It's easy to get caught up in the idea of "moving on," but at what cost? 🌫️

.. I don't get why the cops aren't taking this one more seriously πŸ€”. Eight years is a looong time to be missing, and now they're just gonna "move on" because it's a biker gang thing? Come on... there's gotta be more to it than that πŸ˜’. And what's up with the canceled Uber rides? That don't add up πŸš—. I'm not saying foul play is definitely going on, but some people need to start looking into this again πŸ’‘. It's just common sense to try and find out what happened to someone who vanished like that... even if it's been a while πŸ‘Š.

omg i'm so done with these conspiracy theories πŸ€―πŸŽ…οΈ 8 yrs have passed & we're still speculating about david horn's disappearance? like, c'mon fam, stop making it up! his family is right, there's no need to speculate or make assumptions. the police investigated, and that's a fact. just because he's missing doesn't mean foul play is involved πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. and btw, if he was just drunk and walked away, why would he cancel multiple uber rides? πŸš—πŸ’‘ maybe we should focus on finding david instead of trying to figure out what happened to him πŸ˜”

idk why ppl think its easy to jus disappear like dat πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway, let me share some stats about missing persons cases in the US.

according to the nwsb (national weather service bureau), in 2022, there were over 600,000 reported missing persons cases in the US πŸ“Š that's about 1,700 ppl every day!

the fbi says only 6% of those cases are solved πŸ€” meanwhile, 92% remain unsolved.

in terms of demographics, most missing persons (55%) are female, and most are between 18-30 years old πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

now, about david horn jr's case... did u know that the average investigation time for a missing person's case is around 2.5 months πŸ•°οΈ but in this case, its been almost 8 yrs? thats some crazy stuff! 🀯

OMG u guys I'm literally shook by this new investigation into David Horn Jr.'s disappearance 🀯 it's been 8 yrs since he vanished & his family is still seeking answers πŸ’” I mean, who smashes a window & leaves signs of blood at home? It doesn't sound like our David dude πŸ™„ anyway, the podcast episode is SO good πŸ‘ Marissa Jones & her team are doing amazing work trying to shed light on this mystery. They're really digging deep into the inconsistencies in his final days & it's wild to think he ordered multiple Uber rides when he was with his ex πŸ’Έ anyone with info pls DM me or hit up the Trainer Borough Police Dept 🚨

πŸ€” I'm just not buying into the whole biker gang theory πŸš΅β€β™‚οΈ yet. It seems like a pretty weak link to me. I mean, if it was really related to his mom's death, wouldn't the police have picked up on that by now? πŸ•°οΈ Also, what's with all these inconsistencies in his last days? A canceled Uber ride and multiple orders for rides when he wasn't even together with someone? It just doesn't add up. I'd like to see some concrete evidence before we start speculating about foul play. πŸ’”

man I feel so bad for David's family they've been through this for ages and no one knows what happened to him it's crazy how the cops didn't suspect anything at first but now they're re-examining everything it's like, what if something did happen to him? all these unanswered questions are still haunting his loved ones πŸ’”
