Street Beet Expands to Permanent Location in Corktown, Bringing Plant-Based Eats and Arcade Games
Corktown residents are in for a treat with the grand opening of Street Beet's permanent location at 1800 Michigan Ave. The popular plant-based pop-up has been making waves in the city since its inception in 2018, serving up vegan takes on classic American comfort food that have won over a cult following.
The restaurant's founder, Meghan Shaw, is thrilled to finally set down roots in Corktown, calling it "our biggest leap yet." To celebrate the occasion, Street Beet will host a grand opening celebration from 4-11 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11. Guests can expect a fun-filled evening with full service dining options, carryout from a walk-up window, and, of course, plenty of plant-based eats.
The menu features meatless coney dogs, smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, and nachos, as well as milkshakes, malts, and alcohol-free mocktails. To keep things lively, the restaurant will also feature classic arcade games from Offworld Arcade, adding a unique twist to the dining experience.
But don't worry, Shaw and her team aren't done yet – Street Beet plans to introduce a brunch menu, full service bar, coffee counter with vegan pastries, and patio seating in the near future. The ultimate goal is to "make Street Beet a household name" by reaching people from all backgrounds, neighborhoods, and walks of life.
With its plant-based eats and retro arcade games, Street Beet is poised to become the go-to destination for Corktown residents looking for a fun and delicious dining experience.
