Cult Following Takes Root: Street Beet Brings Plant-Based Fare and Arcade Games to Detroit's Corktown

A popular vegan pop-up in Detroit has finally found a permanent home in the former Bobcat Bonnie's space at 1800 Michigan Avenue in Corktown. Street Beet, which gained a cult following over the years for its creative takes on classic American comfort food, is celebrating its grand opening and expanding its menu to cater to a broader audience.

The restaurant will officially open its doors from 4 pm to 11 pm on Thursday, December 11, marking a significant milestone in the brand's journey. The venue promises an immersive experience that combines delicious plant-based eats with classic arcade games from Offworld Arcade.

Guests can enjoy Street Beet's signature dishes, including meatless coney dogs, smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, and nachos, as well as milkshakes, malts, and alcohol-free mocktails. The menu is designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes, ensuring that there's something for everyone.

What sets Street Beet apart from other plant-based restaurants is its commitment to creating an inclusive atmosphere where people from all backgrounds can come together. Founder Meghan Shaw expressed her excitement about bringing the brand back to Corktown, stating that it feels like a dream come true. The grand opening celebration marks the beginning of a new chapter for Street Beet as it continues to expand and grow.

The restaurant's vision is to introduce a brunch menu, full-service bar, coffee counter with vegan pastries, and patio seating in the near future. With its ambitious plans and dedication to quality, Street Beet is poised to become a household name and a staple in Detroit's culinary scene.

Ugh, I'm so done with people thinking that just because a restaurant has arcade games, it's automatically cool 🤦‍♀️. I mean, come on, who thought that was a good idea? It's like they're trying to appeal to the 15-year-old in all of us. Street Beet is great and all, but let's not get carried away with the nostalgia factor. The real magic happens when you actually try their food - have you had their meatless coney dogs?! 🤤 Anyway, I guess it's nice that they're trying to create an inclusive atmosphere, but can we please focus on the actual food and not just the gimmicks? And by the way, 4 pm to 11 pm is a bit late for a brunch spot... shouldn't it be more like 8 am to 2 pm or something? Just saying 👀

I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out at a plant-based restaurant that's got arcade games?! 😂 It's like the ultimate combo of food and fun. I'm literally counting down the days until they open up on Dec 11th! 🎉

But seriously, Street Beet seems like a great spot to hang out with friends or meet new ones and their arcade games are pretty cool too 🎮. I'm low-key hyped for this new spot! 🤩 Like, who doesn't love arcade games and plant-based food? I can already imagine myself chillin' on the patio with a vegan milkshake and playing some classic Galaga 🎮. The fact that they're going all out with the menu and adding brunch, full-service bar, and coffee counter is genius! They must've done their research to cater to all kinds of tastes. I'm also loving the vibe of making it an inclusive space for everyone. Detroit's Corktown is about to become a hotspot for foodies and gamers alike!

OMG, I'm so stoked for Street Beet! They're bringing that vegan magic to Corktown and I am here for it 🤩👏 I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out with arcade games and plant-based eats? It's like a mashup of The Matrix and The Great British Baking Show 😂. Meghan Shaw's vision is so on point - creating an inclusive space where people can come together and enjoy some delicious grub. And the menu sounds insane! Meatless coney dogs, smashburgers... I need to try it all 🤯🍔. omg I'm so hyped for this new spot 🤩! I've been hearing about Street Beet from friends who've tried their food and it always sounds amazing 🤤. The fact that they're bringing arcade games to the table (pun intended) is just genius - who wouldn't want to play some classic games while chowing down on a delicious vegan burger? 🍔👾 I'm also loving the idea of an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, especially in a neighborhood like Corktown that's all about community. OMG, I'm literally stoked for Street Beet! Like, who doesn't love a good vegan coney dog 🤩? But seriously, it's amazing that they're bringing arcade games into the mix – I mean, can you imagine playing Pac-Man while munching on some killer plant-based nachos 🎮🌮? And I'm so down for an all-inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. It's like, the more diverse the menu and vibes, the better, right? 💖

But what really gets me is that they're not just stopping at a regular old restaurant – no way! They've got big plans to expand into brunch, full-service bar, coffee counter... it's like they want to take over Corktown 😂. And I'm all for it! Street Beet needs to be a staple in Detroit's culinary scene ASAP. So, can't wait to check this place out and see what all the fuss is about 🤔
