Surveillance footage shows suspect wanted for Roxborough High School vandalism, police say

Surveillance Footage Reveals Suspect Wanted for Vandalism at Roxborough High School

Police have released footage showing a suspect wanted for spray-painting racist and antisemitic graffiti on Roxborough High School in Philadelphia over the weekend. The suspect, whose face is partially obscured by an orange scarf, can be seen walking east on Fountain Street towards Pechin Street at around 5:25am.

Wearing a gray hooded jacket, gray pants, and a gray backpack, the individual was last spotted heading towards Ridge Avenue. The graffiti, which included swastikas and misspelled racial slurs, was quickly removed after the incident was reported to authorities.

The police are investigating the case in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia's Office of School Safety. Principal Kristin Williams Smalley has condemned the hate speech, urging parents to speak with their children about the seriousness and consequences of such behavior.

Meanwhile, community members have come together to welcome students back to class on Monday by writing inclusive messages on the school's sidewalks using chalk. Anyone with information about the suspect can contact the Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353 or text 773847 for anonymous tips.

Ugh, this is so frustrating ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, I get that people have different opinions, but vandalism with hate speech? That's just not cool ๐Ÿ˜’. And the fact that it happened at a school where kids are supposed to be learning and growing... it's just really sad ๐Ÿ’”.

And what's with the surveillance footage being released like this? Can't they just give the suspect a heads up or something? It's like, okay, you're wanted for vandalism, but come on, you're going to post yourself online now too? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I do love that the community is coming together though. Writing inclusive messages on the sidewalk with chalk is such a nice way to show support and unity. It's all about spreading positivity and kindness, not hate ๐Ÿ’–. Maybe we can just teach these kids (and their parents) some better ways to express themselves? ๐Ÿค”

omg this is soooo not okay ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ก whoever did that graffiti needs to know it's not gonna fly in philly where everyone's all about love and acceptance ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ซ and i gotta feel for the school kids who have to deal with this kinda hate speech every day ๐Ÿค• but on a more positive note, i loved seeing those community members come together to spread some positivity with their chalk art ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ’– it's gonna be super hard to erase the graffiti but i'm sure the messages of love and acceptance will stick around for a while โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

Ugh, this is so sad ๐Ÿค•. I mean, what's even the point of vandalizing a school? Can't we all just get along and be respectful to each other? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ The fact that someone would write racist and antisemitic graffiti just because they can is literally disgusting ๐Ÿ˜ท. And now there are people in the community coming together to spread love and acceptance by writing inclusive messages on the sidewalk... I'm loving this vibe ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’–! It's not about the suspect, it's about the bigger message that we need to stand together against hate and promote kindness and understanding โค๏ธ. Can't wait to see more of this kind of community spirit in action ๐Ÿ’ช!

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, what's up with these surveillance footage uploads? Can't they just let us know who the person is instead of making us sift through hours of grainy footage? And why do we have to watch a kid walk down the street, it's not exactly thrilling. Anyway, back to the point... graffiti at school is super sad, but what's even sadder is that some people think it's funny or cool to express hate like that. And poor kids gotta deal with this now. ๐Ÿค•

๐Ÿคฏ I'm really disturbed by this incident, it's just so senseless ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Vandalism and hate speech are never okay, they can have a huge impact on kids' lives, especially in a place like school where they're supposed to feel safe ๐Ÿ˜”. It's disheartening to see people resorting to such cowardly acts, hiding their face even ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. I hope the investigation goes well and catches the person responsible, but more importantly, let's focus on healing and building a positive community ๐Ÿ’•. The fact that the school and parents are taking this seriously is a great start, now it's time for us to come together as a city and support each other ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค• This whole thing is so messed up ๐Ÿšฎ, especially targeting a high school and using swastikas and racist slurs... it's just not cool ๐Ÿ˜’. But what really gets me is how the community is coming together to support each other instead of tearing down each other ๐Ÿ‘ฅ. I mean, those chalk messages on the sidewalk were so sweet ๐ŸŽจ, and the principal saying that parents need to talk to their kids about this stuff... it's a great start ๐Ÿ™Œ. But we gotta keep having these conversations and being more mindful about our language and actions ๐Ÿ’ฌ. And honestly, who knows what's going on in people's lives that makes them feel like they wanna lash out like this? We should be trying to understand each other more, not less ๐Ÿค.

man this is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ u gotta wonder whats gonna happen to that kid, spray paintin hate speech like its nobodies business... and the fact that it was done on a school property makes it even worse ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿซ its got everyone in the community talkin now tho, people comin together to write positive messages on the sidewalk is actually really cool ๐Ÿ’• i feel bad for the kids who had to deal with this tho, can u imagine walkin into school every day and seein that kind of hate on the wall? its just sad ๐Ÿ˜”

omg, this is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ i mean, who does that? spray paintin racist and antisemitic stuff on a school wall? it's like, super unacceptable dude... and the fact that they were tryin to cover their face with an orange scarf? like, what's good with that? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, gotta give props to the community comin together to make a positive vibe by writin inclusive messages on the sidewalk. that's some beautiful stuff right there โค๏ธ and i hope the kids at Roxborough High are feelin loved and supported ๐Ÿค—

OMG u guys this is literally so messed up!!! ๐Ÿคฏ i cant even believe someone would do something like that to innocent kids they got caught on camera and now were having to deal with the fallout its just so frustrating that some ppl think its okay to spread hate and intolerance anywhere, anytime especially at school where kids are trying to learn and grow. but kudos to the principal for speaking out against it and to the community members who are coming together to create positive vibes on those sidewalks its all about spreading love and kindness not hate and division ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒˆ

Lol what a total waste of resources on surveillance footage ๐Ÿ“น. Can't these cops just focus on catching actual criminals instead of wasting time showing us some random dude's mug? And btw, who thought it was a good idea to spray-paint swastikas and racial slurs at a high school?! That's just gonna make things worse, like the whole "welcome back" vibe they had going on with chalk messages is gonna get lost in all the hate ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And have you seen the school's security footage? I'm sure it was totally not just some random kid trying to be edgy and attention-seeking ๐Ÿ˜’.

๐Ÿค” just seen that footage of the suspect and I gotta say, it's like they think a simple orange scarf is gonna protect them from getting caught ๐Ÿ˜‚. Newsflash: graffiti with hate speech is never okay, especially at a school where kids are supposed to feel safe ๐Ÿšซ. What really gets me is how the kid on the right in the footage looks kinda guilty ๐Ÿ˜. Like, don't even try to play it cool if you're gonna leave that mess behind ๐Ÿ’”. Anyway, I hope the cops catch this person and put an end to all this hate speech nonsense ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ.
