Suspects arrested for New Year's Day shooting that killed 2 men in Northeast Philly

Two Suspects Arrested in Connection with Northeast Philly Shooting That Left Two Dead and One Injured.

Police have arrested two individuals, Cara Williams-Reeves, 44, and Tyriq Williams, 21, in connection to a violent shooting that took the lives of Luis Colon, 51, and Quadir Tull, 21, on New Year's Day. The suspects are being charged with multiple counts of murder and related offenses.

According to investigators, the shooting occurred at around 11:14 a.m. outside Colon's home in Northeast Philadelphia. The suspects had arrived to confront Colon's stepdaughter, who has ties to Williams-Reeves' family through her ex-boyfriend. That boyfriend was not present at the scene of the crime.

The confrontation escalated when Williams-Reeves and another woman allegedly assaulted Colon's wife and stepdaughter on the front lawn. Colon attempted to intervene, but he was pushed away by Tull and Tyriq Williams, who then drew their firearms and engaged in a shootout with Colon. The ensuing gunfight also struck a parked car and entered the living room of a nearby home.

Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as multiple shots rang out, prompting someone to call 911 for help. Amy Smith, a neighbor who lives near the scene, reported hearing gunfire followed by screams for assistance. She stated that she saw Colon lying on the ground with his wife and stepdaughter standing over him. "We heard what initially sounded like fireworks and then realized it was gunshots and we heard a bunch of screaming to get help, somebody call 911," Smith said.

Colon suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and was pronounced dead at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital around 11:55 a.m. Tull also died shortly after arrival at Temple University Hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds sustained during the shooting.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored Chrysler 300. Police have not released information on any potential motives behind the violent attack or further charges against those involved.

I'm worried about these shooting incidents, they seem so senseless... Two lives lost already this year and one more hurt πŸ€• What's going on in our world? We need to find a way to resolve our differences peacefully πŸ™

.. this whole thing reeks of setup πŸ€‘. I mean, Colon's stepdaughter gets ties to Cara Williams-Reeves' family? That's just too convenient. And what about the ex-boyfriend who wasn't even there? Was that just an added 'detail' to distract us from the real motive? πŸ˜’

And those security cameras were conveniently destroyed or tampered with, right? I mean, come on, two witnesses saw it all and still managed to get hurt... sounds like they were trying to send a message πŸ“£. Plus, there's no mention of any surveillance footage that shows what really happened before the shooting. It's all very suspicious.

And let's not forget about the dark-colored Chrysler 300... is that just a coincidence or was it intentionally left at the scene to throw us off track? πŸ’” I'm telling you, this whole thing feels like a carefully planned operation 🀯.

omg this is crazy 🀯 two people dead and one injured because of some stupid family feud? like what's going on with these ppl's brains?! it's just not right that someone can die over something so petty 😑 and now there are two more suspects to deal with... it's getting outta hand πŸ’₯ i hope the police get to the bottom of this and bring some justice to the families involved πŸ’―

man, this is just crazy what happened on New Year's Day in Philly... two people dead and one injured and it all went down outside Colon's house 🀯. I don't know how much more of this senseless violence we can take in our city. Those two suspects, Cara Williams-Reeves and Tyriq Williams, they're lucky to be behind bars right now πŸš”. But the fact that there was a confrontation at the door over some family drama and then it escalates into a full-blown shootout? That's just disturbing. I hope the authorities can dig up more info on what led up to this and maybe even find out why they chose Colon's house as their target... it's just not right πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm still trying to process this crazy story 🀯... two people dead and one injured on New Year's Day? It feels like something straight outta an old-school gangster movie or a TV show from back in the 90s, you know? Like, what was going on with these guys, Cara and Tyriq Williams? Their stepdaughter and Colon's wife were just innocent bystanders caught in the middle of some crazy family drama. It's just so senseless πŸ€•... and that neighbor Amy Smith's account of hearing gunfire followed by screams for help is honestly chilling. I mean, you'd think we've moved past all this gun violence stuff in Philly, but I guess it seems like every other week there's another shooting.

man this is crazy 🀯, i mean how do you go from having a confrontation with someone's family to actually pulling out guns and killing two people? it's like what even happened before that point in the lead up to all this violence? πŸ€” i know we gotta be careful about sharing info online but it seems like there was some kinda escalation going on here. anyway, glad they caught these two suspects though - hopefully they get the justice they deserve πŸ’―

omg u guys this is insane 🀯 i cant even right now... two people dead and one injured and its all cuz of some crazy family drama πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i mean whats going on with these ppl? Cara Williams-Reeves and Tyriq Williams, they're like a deadly combo πŸ’₯ they came at Luis Colon's home and things just escalated outta control πŸ”΄πŸ”« i feel so bad for Colon's wife and stepdaughter, they must be shattered 😩 i dont know what the motive was but this is just senseless violence πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ lets hope the other suspect gets a good long sentence πŸ’―

omg did u hear about this crazy shooting in philly ?? i'm still tryna wrap my head around it 🀯 like who does that to someone's family member and then tries 2 make a getaway lol guess they didn't think thru their plan... i feel bad 4 the fam of those ppl who got hurt πŸ€• anyw they're locked up now so at least thats somethin. but seriously, 2 dead and another hurt... wut r we doin 2 ourselves ??

man this is like the last thing we need a new year with violence and senseless tragedy πŸ€• it's just heartbreaking thinking about colon's family having to go through this stuff especially his wife and stepdaughter who were literally standing over him as he was dying they must be traumatized for life 😱 what can we do to prevent these kinds of incidents from happening in the first place i mean we know there are some sociopaths out there but it's like we're living in a world where you never feel safe anymore πŸ€• and now we have two more young lives lost to gun violence tull was only 21 years old 😒 tyriq williams is only 21 too and they both could've had so much more time to live and experience life

Wow, this is so senseless 🀯... two families destroyed by one wild and crazy morning 😒... how many times do we need to hear gunshots before someone calls for help? πŸ’”... it's like they just took a random chance to take lives πŸ’€... poor Colon & Tull, what did you do to deserve that? 😱... hope their loved ones find closure soon πŸ’•... this world is getting more and more crazy by the minute 🚨

I'm like, totally shocked that two people died in this crazy shooting 🀯... but also kinda think it's too much of a coincidence that they were killed in their own front yard? I mean, what are the chances right? πŸ€‘ It's just not looking good for these suspects and I don't see how they're gonna get off scot-free. But at the same time, I'm also thinking about the ex-boyfriend who wasn't even there... is that someone we should be worried about too? πŸ€” Shouldn't he be under suspicion or something? Anyway, it's all just so messed up and I need to process this more before forming a real opinion πŸ˜‚

man, this is like so disturbing... two innocent people dead and one more hurt πŸ€• it's crazy that it escalated from a confrontation to actual gunfighting. i'm just glad nobody else got caught in the crossfire πŸ˜”. these suspects were really reckless, putting an entire neighborhood at risk with their actions. and what's even crazier is they left the scene in a car like it was no big deal πŸš—πŸ˜’. police are still investigating motives, but let's be real, some people just don't take responsibility for their actions πŸ‘Ž.

πŸ€” this whole thing is just so messed up, like what was the point of all that violence? and how did it escalate from a simple confrontation to full-on gunfight? 🚫 i feel bad for colon's family, especially his wife and stepdaughter who must've been going through hell right now 😩. they deserve justice and some answers about why this happened πŸ’”. and what's with the 911 call from amy smith? did she see anything else or was it just a lucky guess that someone called for help πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. anyway, hope justice is served soon πŸ’ͺ
