The 10 most anticipated video games of 2026

Cairn: Climbing the Heights of Challenge and Beauty

Get ready to test your mountaineering skills in Cairn, a beautifully illustrated climbing game that drops you into the midst of treacherous terrain. You'll play as Aava, carefully placing her hands and feet on the walls of an unforgiving mountain, navigating ledges and bandaging her fingers along the way.

Like real climbing, Cairn is a challenging and brutal experience that requires precision and strategy to overcome. But it's also stunningly beautiful, with vibrant illustrations that bring the outdoors to life in breathtaking detail.

Reanimal: Horror at its Finest

Meanwhile, Reanimal promises to be one of the most unsettling gaming experiences of 2026. As a two-player animated horror game, it takes inspiration from the likes of Limbo and Inside, throwing you into a twisted world where a brother and sister must survive against all odds.

You'll encounter horrible monsters and reanimated creatures, making for a genuinely frightening experience that's as artistically impressive as it is unsettling.

Resident Evil Requiem: Back to Basics

Capcom's Resident Evil series has been around for ages, but the latest installment, Requiem, takes us back to its horror roots. You'll play as bookish Grace or confidently combat-proficient cop Leon S Kennedy, navigating a creepy world filled with monsters.

Resident Evil Requiem is set in iconic Raccoon City and promises to deliver some serious scares, making it a must-play for fans of the series.

Pokémon Pokopia: Building and Gardening Fun

In contrast, Pokémon Pokopia offers a more laid-back experience. You'll play as Ditto, building habitats for your favorite Pokémon and tending to their needs in this charming Nintendo Switch game.

While not as intense as some other titles on the list, Pokémon Pokopia is a delightful way to spend time with your favorite creatures.

007 First Light: Bond's New Adventure

James Bond fans will be excited to hear about 007 First Light, an upcoming game that promises to bring back the spy's classic style and action. With IO Interactive behind the scenes, this one's shaping up to be an event.

Saros: Time-Loop Sci-Fi Shooter

Finally, Saros is a mysterious action game from the developers of Returnal, set on a hostile planet where creatures and colonists are losing their minds due to the dying sun. Long-time gamers will recognize the arcade bullet-hell shooter lineage in this title.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Next Chapter

Rumors have been circulating about Grand Theft Auto VI for years, but Rockstar's latest installment promises to deliver on all fronts. Set in a fictional Floridian state called Leonida, it's going to be a crime and love story like no other, featuring the series' first female protagonist.

Marvel's Wolverine: X-Men Action

Fans of Marvel are getting excited about Insomniac's new Spider-Man game, but this latest announcement promises even more – an ensemble cast of X-Men characters in an action-packed adventure starring Wolverine. It's going to be a wild ride, that's for sure.

Witchbrook: Whimsical Wizardry

Last but not least, we have Witchbrook, a charming pixel-art slice-of-life game set at a witches' college. You'll learn spells and broom flight, and even get involved in the whimsical town life outside of school – all with up to four players at once!

Halo: Campaign Evolved... wait, nope! The article is cut off here without information about Halo: Campaign Evolved.

The proliferation of immersive gaming experiences has reached a fever pitch 🤯. I'm particularly intrigued by Cairn's unique blend of challenging mountaineering gameplay and breathtaking visuals – it's almost as if you're literally scaling the heights of challenge and beauty 😍. On the other end of the spectrum, Reanimal's unsettling atmosphere and artistic prowess are sure to send chills down even the most seasoned gamers' spines ❄️. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Requiem's return to horror roots is a welcome respite for fans of the series 👻.

It's also worth noting that Pokémon Pokopia's more laid-back approach to gameplay offers a refreshing change of pace from the intense action found in other titles 🌸. And let's not forget 007 First Light, which promises to bring back the spy's classic style and action – a true Bond-worthy experience 💥.

The inclusion of Saros, a time-loop sci-fi shooter with an arcade bullet-hell twist, adds another layer of excitement to the mix 🔴. Grand Theft Auto VI's rumored features are still shrouded in mystery, but one thing is certain: Rockstar never disappoints 🤪. And Marvel fans will be thrilled by the news of Wolverine's X-Men action-packed adventure – a wild ride indeed! 🎉

I'm so stoked for these new games coming out 🤩💥! Cairn sounds like an insane challenge 🤯, but the artwork looks totes gorgeous 🌸. I need more horror games like Reanimal ASAP 😱. Resident Evil Requiem is gonna be SO intense 😲. And Pokémon Pokopia? That just seems like so much cute fun 🐰💚! 007 First Light sounds like a Bond-tastic adventure 🕵️‍♂️, and I'm DYING for more info about Grand Theft Auto VI 🤔. Wolverine's X-Men adventure is giving me all the feels 💖... can't wait to play as Logan on PS5 🎮! Witchbrook looks SO wholesome 🧙‍♀️. Who else is hyped for these releases? 😆

I'm a bit confused about this Halo thing... are they reviving some old game or releasing something new? I've got my eyes on the Reanimal horror game, though - two-player animated games can be super intense and unsettling. Anyone else excited for that one 🤔

I'm kinda surprised there's a gaming game that doesn't have some insane difficulty level lol 😂 I mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds like Cairn has its moments, but if you're expecting to be shredded by the game from day one, that might not be what you're looking for. Like, I'm all for challenge, but also having fun, right? 🤔

🤔 I'm really hyped for 007 First Light, but what's with the title? Shouldn't it be "James Bond 007: First Light"? It sounds like they're trying to make a statement by omitting the full title... 🤷‍♂️

I'm so done with these " survival horror" games they're all just rehashed versions of Limbo and Inside 😒. Can't we have something new for once? Like a decent multiplayer game that doesn't involve one player trying to outlast another... 🤷‍♂️ Pokémon Pokopia sounds cute though, I guess it's nice that Nintendo is still trying to make games that appeal to all ages 👵. And 007 First Light can't come soon enough for me, Bond's back and that's all the info I need 🕵️‍♂️.

I'm loving the mix of games on this list. Like, Pokémon Pokopia sounds like such a chill way to spend time with your fave Pokémon 🐾😊. But at the same time, Reanimal and Resident Evil Requiem are giving me some serious vibes of impending doom 😱👻. I'm all about that survival horror life.

And can we talk about 007 First Light for a sec? I mean, James Bond is always a good time 🕵️‍♂️. But what's with the lack of info on Halo: Campaign Evolved though? Like, what happened to that game 🤔?

OMG I'm so down for Cairn 🤸‍♀️ it looks like an insane climbing challenge and the graphics are literally stunning 😍. But on the other hand, Reanimal seems super intense and scary 😱 I don't know if I could handle that horror level of anxiety 😅.

I also love how diverse the game list is, you've got Pokémon Pokopia for a chill experience 🌿, 007 First Light for some James Bond action 💥, and Halo... wait what? 🤔

It's like, you know how sometimes we just wanna chill and play some Pokémon games? 🐠 Then again, there are other games out there that'll get your heart racing, like Reanimal, which sounds super scary 😱!

So, I'm curious - who else is hyped for 007 First Light, with James Bond back on the big screen? 🕵️‍♂️ Also, what's up with Grand Theft Auto VI, set in this fictional Floridian state called Leonida? Sounds like a wild ride ahead! 🚗

But wait, I'm kinda bummed that Halo: Campaign Evolved got cut off - were you guys looking forward to it? 😔 At least we have some awesome games coming out next year, like Pokémon Pokopia and Witchbrook, which look super fun and relaxing... or should I say, "whimsical" 😊

idk why ppl are already hyped for grand theft auto vi 🤑 but have u seen the state of our cities lately? it's like rockstar's gonna glorify all this chaos and crime 💔 meanwhile, i'm over here thinking we need more games that promote sustainability and eco-friendly living 🌱 witchbrook looks kinda fun tho, but is it really doing enough to raise awareness about environmental issues? 🤔
